New Bees 03/12/11 friends - new and old...Come on in...

Mekos, I have a question about VFT. My son got two plants as an early Easter gift which have been repotted into a more decent home for them and covered with a protection dome because it's windy. When I was setting this up, I noticed one has a slight blush in it's mouth, while the other is all green. Is that evidence that they might be different colors? My son noticed the reddish in the mouth.

Yes, they come in all colors and you probably got 2 different ones. The pink may turn reddish colored as it gets older. I have seen them where just the inside is pink or reddish and some where the whole plant is a deep red color. You can see here some different colored ones.

I just love them. I went out earlier and pulled some dead stuff out of my bog and cleaned up a little and found baby pitcher plants sprouted where I left the seed pods out last winter and they are sprouting. YIPPIE! AND I have more blooms just about to open on them also. My little Pings have a new baby from the roots. I'm getting all excited now.

Thank you for the link mekos ^_^ I'll check it out. My son is so thrilled we have more VFT.

I'd love to get more plants and more of a variety but I think I'll have to order online to do that. I have an "herb" mission to the nursery in May and plan to see what they have in the CP department. Until then I have a few growers bookmarked and a jar sitting on the counter, waiting for CP money. ^_^ I just love those bug eaters!!

I have a few seeds I ordered of a couple different VFTs I thought I may use as a gift for a winner in a game soon. I'm trying to figure out a good game for them. Also my pitcher plants have blooms so they will have seeds this fall and I have found baby seedlings of the picture plants too so the babies could be used too. Just got to do some figuring for a bit. Haven't done an auction for a while now. Might have to auction them off.

Here is the red I have and my purple pitcher plant, I also have many different pitcher plants too, but here are 2 of mine that you can get seeds for closer. I order from this company too and you get good service with fresh seeds. They just don't have as much to choose from.

Very pretty iris. Mine should be starting to put up buds. We usually start blooming around this time, but only had a few blooms last year. I thinned them out and put some mulch on them, maybe they will bloom this year. I'm still gather more, I want to put them all down my fence line.

Please put my husband and I in your prayers. BIG prayers, please. Thanks to everyone!

Thank you and have you both in my prayers. God bless you dear.

We did go to Eureka Springs. Went over Friday and came back yesterday. Ya, the weather wasn't optimum, but it never is in April. Sunday was nice, of course, when we got ready to leave.

My outside bog garden with a bunch of buds about to bloom open. Think this is the purple pitcher plant bloom.

The whole bog and you can see smaller buds from the others on there.
