OMG you would love the dark sardonic humourVictor. Its right up your alley.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What are you saying, Jo?? ^_^

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

You know who you are.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

It was cool! you should check it out Victor, it's like a corny James Bond. lol!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Can't be as good ad Dr. Strangelove!!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

cLOSE SECOND

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Not as heavy at that, it's a lighter, comic book type..
- Dr Strangelove is the epitome of Dark & Sardonic!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sellers was incredible.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

My DW loves the Pink Panther movies.

Jen, I could definitely live in a brother husbands relationship! LOL!

I loved True Lies.

This weekend, courtesy of Netflix, I will be watching You Don't Know Jack. That's due to your mentioning it, Jo. Sounded like a good one.

I never saw Dr. Strangelove. Highly recommended?

Karen

Dr. Strangelove is what I call 'par for the course'.
- gotta have it under your belt as one of the best!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Dont Know Jack is enlightening. I knew he fought for euthanasia but had no idea what sacrifices he made to get the message out.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I'll have to watch that, I always admired him.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Netherlands is so far ahead.

DD #1 is recomending the current version of Arthur. I saw a trailer, then went to Netflix to get member reviews.
Just as I thought, all the funny stuff was in a 10 minute trailer. Member reviews gave it 1 star. The first review gave it 4 stars leaving a Netflix score of 3.5 I rarely watch anything that low.

I support the right for truly terminal people, but he helped some people who were just depressed, disgusted, etc. That crosses the line for me.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, I agree with you, Victor. Terminally ill I can understand.

Karen

OK in the movie there was a scene where he and the woman who was the head of the Hemlock Society for the region, interviewed a patient who was young and I believe a quad.
He wanted to stop his life. They diagnosed him as depressed and turned him down.
Media being what it is I just dont know if reports were accurate or the movie maker had a bias.

Here's a analysis of his patients.

Didn't know Courtney Cox split with her hubby. Lots of beauties back in the rotation!

Recently read Dick Cavett's new book, "Talk Show", and chuckled so much I ordered a compilation of his interviews with comics from Netflix. The first disk (of four) has three hours of interviews with Groucho Marx, Woody Allen and Bob Hope. Groucho's description of a tryst in a hotel room (with pigeons flying in to nibble on his ear) and of course his rendition of "Lydia" is not to be missed.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good taste, Don! Cavett was great. I saw the Groucho one. He idolized Groucho.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I saw the new movie Rango today, with the voice of Johnny Depp as the chameleon. What a great movie! Very imaginative. Definitely one to see. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy it.

Karen

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I saw the previews for Rango! Definitely, going to see it!
Thanks! ☺!!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I watched The Fighter. It deserves every oscar it won.
Great fight scenes and the mother is not to be believed.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I watched Social Network yesterday.
Oscar buzz was over done.
Its amazing how Facebook was started. Now I understand why a lot of it isnt interesting to me. I'm done with tyhe gaggle of friends and dateing and whose wearing what with rateings.
I use FB to see what my grandchildren are doing.
I have posted garden stuff and commented but the friend list is short. I like these people but trust they can run their own lives and I have a passive intrest in what intrests them.
If I need to correspond I will e-mail.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not a fan of it at all. Useless, silly crap - quotes, horoscopes, games, where people are - who cares!! Not to mention the many privacy breaches.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

saw it this past weekend - was not as bad as expected - i've met engineers who are as socially inept.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

He must have has "socialization "training before he was on Oprah.
The first GF was smart to cut him loose.
