Leftover pot roast tonight....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

The new oven has a convection feature. If you have one - do you like it? Was it hard to adjust to? I need to try it. Any suggestions for me?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

My sil has a convection and loves it.

I LOVE pot roast, probably my fav meal

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Gonna try pork in it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We use it all the time. Faster and more even cooking.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I have one, its ok, ... I use it more in the summer when I don't want the house to get too warm.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Cool. I'll be sure to use it regularly.

Stamford, CT(Zone 6b)

Jan, I have an old Jenn-Air that looks like the dickens, but I would not trade the convection oven for anything. Depending the brand, you probably will use it a lot once you try it. Is it gas or electric?

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Gas with the convection. I read that it's best to have low sided pans for a roast to let the air circulate. This cut of pork needs low/slow/and covered, so I'll try it tomorrow with some scones. Glad to hear that you all like yours.

Stamford, CT(Zone 6b)

Put it into a dutch oven if you have one. You don't have to worry about pans with low sides. The convection fan does the circulating; you hear it. Depending on your oven model, there may an extra electric element for the boost. (You cannot see it; it's accessed from the back.) Enjoy.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Don't want to spend too much time cooking today, but I can use something warm so I'm making a little 2lb corned beef I picked up on Sat and cooking it with some tiny red potatoes and a small cabbage. - as little fuss as possible..

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

We bought a convection micro combo last January. I've only used it a few times, maybe I should experiment more. I forget I have it until the gas oven is already heated.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I did use a Dutch oven and the pork was very tasty.
