Whatever is in season locally.

(Yum, thinking about asparagus tips...)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, I eat more barbaqued stuff and I add spareribs to my menu.
It's more practical in some instances, ...less mess in the kitchen, less the a/c has to work in order to keep the house cool, less gas used.., but I still cook indoors just as often because some dishes just can't be made on a charcoal grill which is what I use. The heat is too irregular/ inconsistent.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

DH scrounged around for himself last night - I was on the sofa all day. ICK!!! I had a cup of tea for the day. I so missed being outside - it was glorious.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

chicken with rasberry salsa on top and baked.

Thomaston, CT

Jan, hope you feel better soon! Yes, I eat lighter in warmer weather....I get addicted to cottage cheese, and salads....mac & tuna salad, deviled eggs, potato salad...and when the garden starts producing, whatever is ready in there!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh Jan, sorry you're sick.
My body was fighting something off, never really got sick but very tired and had headache for 3 days, nauseous for 1 day.

Def do more bbqing in the warmer weather and more fruit!!!

Went to schlachfest(translated meatfest) today at the local German American club...I am still stuffed.
Bratwurst, knockwurst, liverwurst(I pass on that one)pork loin, saurkraut, home made apple sauce, mashed potatoes, rye bread, freshly made donuts

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Feel better, Jan!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thanks. I just read Jen's list and had to turn away. My insides did a flip. Normally it would have been fine. Still didn't really eat anything today.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yum!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Ham, cabbage and potatoes.

Thomaston, CT

Leftover pork roast, with stuffing, pickled beets & applesauce....

The grill is good. It leaves the mess outside and normally paper plates are used.

Dishwasher - whats that?

Asperagus tips - yum. Jim hates them. Have not had them in years as they are so $$ I should try to grow them. Well I did but it was the kind that only lasted 1 year! Now to pickled beets - need to go in the pantry and pull out a pint.

Now whats for supper?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Going to the in laws tonight, pasta

Thomaston, CT

Asparagus is easy-peasy, Sherrie....just plant it, & forget it. I have some purple that was ready to harvest last year....can't wait to see what I get this year......hash & pancakes at church tonight.....

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Cool pic!
Made homemade bread, meatloaf, potato salad, fish chowder, and then hubby said "stop"!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I made about 100 meatballs Monday night, I usually cook them in a pot of sauce but baked them instead and ate a "few" mini meatloaves right out of the oven. They were so good, I don't think I'll cook them in sauce again. Tonight is pizza night.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love that

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Funny,I was in the mood for potato salad, Celeste. I need to make some tomorrow

Sounds good Robin, do you put them in sauce in the oven? what temp?

Hotdogs for the kiddies, hubby not home yet had a meeting, I had chicken leftovers....last night I forgot to mention made a new chicken casserole...hubby wanted the chicken I was going to make disguised. New recipe, came out really yummy...chicken breasts with sliced swiss cheese then cream of mushroom soup mixed with milk, then herb stuffing and butter drizzled on top 350° till chicken is done about 20-25mins

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

grilled cheese and fries tonight. No meat--- ash wednesday.

Thomaston, CT

Mmmm, chicken sounds good, Jen....I sauteed the chop in my electric skillet with onions & garlic & olive oil......poured in white wine & water, & simmered.....served over the sauteed cabbage with carrots, celery, vinegar & caraway seed.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

mmmmmm, sounds yummy

Thomaston, CT

Tacos

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

After reading the ingredients on the packaged taco seasoning, I now make my own...super easy and tastes better

• 1 tablespoon chili powder
• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
• 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon paprika
• 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon sea salt
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
If you have any left store in an airtight container, I used the whole recipe with a pound of meat

Thomaston, CT

Have not had a taco since Garret was a child....DH didn't like spicy foods. Tonight, pasta.

East Bridgewater, MA
