This is the last photo of the series, but I do hope you enjoyed going to the B.fly Farm in Kuala Lumpur with me. : - )
Feel free to identify, comment and just enjoy these photos.
That's the main reason I took them after all, was to share them with others. : - )
Besides I still have two more B.fly farms to share with you all, and you'll be seeing some of the same things at each. The next Farm is in Phuket, Thailand.
Forgive me if I'm too tired to start that thread today. It'll give you all something to look forward to! : - )

Makes me remember how facinating I found the butterfly exhibit here. The flowers and fauna is just as much a part of the experience as the bfs. DH wanted the camera to show what he could see flying around in the air...not going to happen....so before you take off again make him get a video camera to take videos while you snap pictures!
I wish I could help more on the id of some of the ones you are showing but only a few do I recognize; and those you have in the id pics below.
How blessed you are to have one land on you. That was a pretty one too.
I really like the one that got stepped on, glad you saw a live one. It was a pretty thing. The one DH spotted with the vivid color is georgeous too.
Nice pictures of the ponds and koi they can be quite entertaining to watch.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks Sheila,
I was like a kid in the candy store. Kept trying to get DH to take photos of all the butterflies landing on me, you'd think I was LAX for the b.flys. LOL!
It was a grand experience, and I really need to start a new thread on the b.fly farm in Phuket, Thailand tomorrow. Different but also very nice from the one in Kuala Lumpur. : - )
I'm glad every seems to be enjoying the photos.
Good idea about letting DH video next time. He can use my other camera. : - ) LOL!

#79 To me nothing is more beautiful than the splash of color the Carp give. Their size is a fascination!

#80 The dragonfly is gorgeous! I hope he eats many nasty mosquitos!

#81 Gorgeous! I love the solids and the two tones!

#82 Smiling. You know how long I stalked the Angelwing here just to get the shot, LOL! You have them at your beck and call! Beautiful contrast with the green leaf!

#83 Absolutely gorgous!

#86 Beautiful!

#89 Smiling over the intruder. He's pretty safe! His antenna go on for miles :o)

#90 I would love to have a creek system go thru my house. How wonderful that would be!

#92 It does look oily, but I can't imagine it is.

#93 I like the dark one's in the lwer left!

#94 I could sit and stare into the water for a long time. It would be very Zen.

#96 Nice close-up. It looks like he's been thru the paces.

#98 Smiling over the brunette! I think you're right :o)

#99 Very nice shot!

#100 That is too sad. My heart is heavy for those stepped on. He was beautiful!

#103 Beautiful shot!!

#104 Agree over the survivors.

# 105 Another nice shot! Love the eyes.

#106 Beautiful!!

#108 The most special of them all! Awesome!!

#115 I'm blown away!!

#116 Gorgoeus!! Love the white markings!

#117 My favorite and what a treat!!

#118 Wow, look at the crack in his shell. I wonder if he had been hit by something?

#120 They sure have an ideal forever home!

#122 Nice macro and color!

#123 He's pretty!

#124, Smiling over the identical situation!

#125 Neat shot!

#128 I love the combos and foliages too! The pinks are so eyecatching!

#130 It makes a nice shot!

#132 Beautiful! Tell Dh we want to see the flowers too!

#133 Love the baby farm!

#136 Beautiful!

#137 Interesting, but um, ick?

#138 Most beautiful! Sigh....

# 139 Eeeek! I'm glad they are contained! We have them here and I wait till they pass so I don't shred them with the mower in the Fall, but, boy are these big!

#141 All a learning experience!

#142 - #146 AWESOME!

It is neat to have a guide for identifing later. I'd never remember!

#155 Just beautiful!!

They have so many beautiful butterfly examples there. Just so many!

PERTH, Australia

How can I possibly equal that! Singing Wolf, this is a great thread. Thanks for presenting it. I can't believe that people would go into a butterfly house and then not look where they're putting their feet. With the Koi, I believe that in Japan, prized fish are passed on generation to generation and yes, it's not unheard of for a fish to be over 200 years old. Amazing stuff. I look forward to you Phuket shots.

Thank you so much for your feedback billyp. You know how in school when they give you back the test you took, but you don't know which questions you got wrong, because they don't let you have the test back too. Well, that's the same reason I like feedback. I learn what I did wrong and what I can do better. Yes, I am sincere in saying this. : - )
People learn best from their mistakes, and what they do right, while I know that every one has their own opinion, I've found that sometimes what I don't like other folks do. It's all a wonderful learning experience. : - )
Margaret, I'd hoped to make the album today, but my son's cold caught up with me.
I was reviewing my photos and I might be pickier about what I post from Phuket.
I know I didn't take as many photos as I wanted in Penang. That b.fly farm is huge, we're talking hectares. Not acres. But ya never know, and out of the three b.fly farms I thought it really was the best. In part because we met some really nice college kids on our way out taking a survey. The b.fly farm and the University (don't ask I can't even begin to pronounce it's name) are working together to preserve the native species and provide a great learning experience, too. I'll see if I can find the brochure I got from there. They might have the University listed or they may have a website. : - )
The other part I hope you can see yourself in person some day. It's far more beautiful than my photographs can show.
BTW, from you Margaret, I consider it high praise! : - )
Especially knowing the quality and clarity of your photography. : - )

Wow!!! I expected just a few, that is super Dale. Jules can name the butterflies now, and post some of the better shots on the bugfiles data pages.
Funny that it is one of the suppliers for our exhibit too!

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Awesome, you guys!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh my, SW, that shot of the dragonfly makes me crazy! Luv it! We had so many here last year and I tried to get a shot (even one of my usual lousy pics) of one of them but never could. That's terrific!

This is a wonderful visual tour of the b-fly gardens in Kuala Lumpur. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to post it all. ^_^

Balotesti, Romania(Zone 5a)

Jules, what a wonderful tour of the farm! Great butterflies there and such gorgeous plants! Thank you so much for the treat, I feel like I have been there with you!

Enjoyed the pictures Thank you

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

You are too quite Jules....hope you aren't feeling bad. Maybe just working on the other butterfly threads?

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

In part Sheila, I did get the album made of our trip to the b.fly farm in Phuket, Thailand which I intend to start posting today. Most of the time I was just plain sick. My ES had a cold when we got home, and bless his red head, he went and shared it with me. : - )
Wow, I had no idea Dale, that I was able to take so many photos of so many different varieties. Wait till you see the ones from the Penang, B.fly farm.
Today I am going to start a new thread on the B.fly farm we visited in Phuket, Thailand. The area was pretty well in the path of the 2004 tsunami, although it wasn't as bad there as other areas in the town, and is in the process of recovering.
I'll be posting other photos of the area in the photo forum on kwanjin, thread, "What I Saw Today."
I know that I don't have the energy to post them all at once, so I'll do as many as I can then rest for awhile. Okay?
I've got to spend a few minute outside working on my sad garden too. Poor baby has been getting froze. I think most things will come back but it's hard to say. So I'll take the wait & see approach.
Thank you all for your comments. : - )
Dale, you've got a real treat in store for you. Thank you for id'ing the b.flys you recognized. : - )
I really would like to put them in the BugFiles, like Sheila suggested.
: - )
Better get to it!

SW I have the Spider Lilies. Will be thinning them and the Amaryllis that they are crowding out. Remind me in a month or so.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I'll try to remember, but my forgetery works better, wren. : - (
However, I did write it down in the Book, so maybe that will help.
It's gonna be a busy week for us what with us hosting the Southern California Round Up on the 9th. : - )
Should be great fun, since we'll be having the RU under Grandmother Oak Tree.
: - )
She'll enjoy the company. Especially if we have kids there. She loves the kids. : - )
Well, I'd best quit goofing off, and start posting photos of the B.fly Garden in Phuket.
Wren, before I forget I'd love some of them spider lilly's, and will even make room for them in my freezer if I have to. They are lovely to behold.
Now if anyone knows what those pink flowers are, those are the ones I've been drooling over. I just love the way the sprays of blossoms look. : - )

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

you do not need to keep these bulbs in your freezer they grow out in the fresh water marshes around here as well as gardens, here in Florida

Do you mean the vine with pink flowers like this picture? if so that is a Coral Vine, I will have to check to see if mine has pups this year.

Wren, I just got done posting a photo on the new b.fly thread from Phuket, Thailand. I can't tell from either of our photos on this thread. But I did get a good photo that is on the other. Darn it I should have provided a link. I edit the Phuket B.fly farm addy in. Here it is:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1162779
Anyway, you'll see a close up that's pretty good on the other thread. Thanks wren, I do hope it is one I can buy, steal or trade for. LOL! : - )

Just lovely. Our local conservatory has a butterfly living exhibit once a year. Magical to have one sit on your head!
My catalog shows flowers like the white one as hymenocallis... www.brentbeckybulbs.com has a small selection. Again, thanks for that touch of spring.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

It's been my pleasure, MarciaGeiger. With the help of other DG members, I hope to come back through and give the correct names for all the butterfly's and as many plants as we can recognize. I also plan on giving credit to those who help with this endeavor. I'll check out the link and see if they are the same. : - )
Also, I have to thank billyp, Sheila, Margaret, wren, and Dale the lepfarmer! : - )
You've all been an awesome support in more ways than you realize. : - )
I'm so glad that so many of you have taken the time to stroll through the b.fly farms with me. It's been grand. : - )
The best part for me, has been bringing my photos home to share with everyone here at DG.
Beauty should be shared. So many of our members aren't able to travel, for either health or financial reasons. We wouldn't have been able to take this trip, but I put off stuff I wanted to do at home, and the bonus crop we got from the bees paid for the trip. It was the trip of a life time. : - )
