A visit to the Butterfly Farm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

From a different angle. : - )

Well, now we know this green and black, b.fly likes this orange colored flower. : - )

He been flitting all around the group of orange blossoms, sipping the nectar. He's hard to see in this photo because he flitted to the backside of the group of blossoms in the center of this photo.
Sometimes it can be so frustrating to get a photo you really like. (Sigh . . . )
But I learned what they like to eat! : - )

Another of those Wow, action shots. LOL! Who'd of thought that such brilliantly colored b.fly's would be so hard to see? LOL!

Wow, you can actually see him sipping! : - )

These flowers remind me of a Brumfelsia. Love the colors on the butterfly.

Great timing Roly. Same as the flowers in #36. Just better detail. Sure wouldn't mind these guys either. This is what they look like when fully opened. Sweet! Has a light but pleasant odor too.

Maybe not the clearest photo, but I do so enjoy getting photos of them feasting on their native foods. : - )

This one looks like Pride of Barbados to me. There are all plants that I see growing here so it means that the butterflies seem to use the same nectar sources.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

The bird droppings on the leaves of the plant the b.fly is sitting on (with folded wings, the brat!), appears to explain how some of those butterflies have such tattered wings. : - |
I guess they need to repair that hole in the shade cloth. Didn't see any birds, but I heard some.

You could be right, but since I didn't get to see it in full bloom, I wasn't sure if it was a POB. It doesn't look like the ones Dad had, but similar. Hmmm . . .
Could be another member of the same family. : - )
The POB, out here are called something different. Mexican Bird of Paradise, I think, but don't count on my I.D. I've got a really good forgettery. :- )
Got to take another short break.
A wider view at the farm.

They can be really hard to see, for all the colorful ones surrounding them. : - )

Don't know if I like the B.fly best or the color of the under side of the leaves. LOL!

There are a couple flitting around and one resting on the top of a leave. You can see it's shadow on the underside of the leaf. : - )

That rock wall was pretty attractive, I guess. This nice red and black B.fly came to show off too! : - )

Sorry about the quality of this photo. The B.fly was working it's way up to that pink bloom, which almost looks like an impatiene (sp?) to me.

Bottlebrush family? More like puff balls in shape. Saw b.fly's working it, but hadn't been able to get a photo of it. : - (

View of the B.fly wall. Lots of plants live on and in the cracks of the wall or the rocks themselves.

The b.fly's are constantly flying in to that wall, and they sure were a treat, even if they didn't "pose" for all that many photos. : - )

Tried for a close up. Don't feel I succeeded, but at least the color is right.

I was getting kind of fond of these dead leaves, that are really b.flys. Hard to see if they don't move.

This strange looking plant is reminiscent of what we know as Birds of Paradise here in CA.

Photo of a b.fly working a red hibiscus. Who'd of thought. Seems that the Hibiscus is like the Countries' Flower. It's even on their coins, and bills. They use them a lot for landscape plantings. : - )
It's also the HI State flower. One of my favorites. : - )

Hard to see the b.fly on this hibbie, but look for the yellow!

Don't know what kind of bloom/plant this is but I like it. : - )
Didn't see any b.fly's flittering near it, but it may already have bloomed out.

A view of the landscaping inside the B.fly farm. I really like those white spidery looking flowers. : - )

It it a butterfly or a dragonfly? We did see some doodlebug holes outside. LOL!
I'm getting tired again, and need to take a break. Back as soon as I can. : - )

This one is another Heliconia. There are pendants like the one in one of your first pictures and uprights like the ones on this post.
