Coffee Break #54 Light at the end of the tunnel?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Very sorry to hear your sad news, Louise.

I know how I felt when the real PIRL died 9 years ago at 102. It's always a loss when the person is a very dear friend.

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

Very sorry to hear that, thoughts and prayers with you Louise.

Looks like gardening is the fountain of youth - at least for women.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The doctor next door, who was an avid gardener, died at 98 a few years ago.

Jack's father was the devoted rose gardener and he made it to 91 - there's hope for you yet, Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good. Was hoping to avoid the operation.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Lobotomy?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Gender change.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

To what?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

To whom.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Dolly Parton or someone younger like Miss Confetti Dancer?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Roxanne!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Rats! I don't know Roxanne. Any relation to Rosie O'Donnell?

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Yuck!!!

- Sorry about your loss Louise, it's never easy, but at least you have the comfort of knowing they're finally at peace in a perfect garden. ☺

A woman in my art class was related by marriage to Dr. Ewan Currier, the noted sib breeder.....she said he was still hybridizing when he died at 100! So, men must benefit as well....no need for the op, Victor!

Robin Dr. Currier McEwan. For his 100th birthday he just wanted 'funny' cards.

Thanks, Iris! Knew the name didn't look quite right, but I was too lazy to look it up.....anyway he was the uncle of this woman's husband, & he's also a doctor....they have a small, family vineyard in their back fields, & a bear trapped her between the vineyard & the house last summer....she was lucky he decided the grapes were more interesting!

Gotta make the decision. GH or not - If I do how much, what to spend and what to bring in? Time is ticking and its not on my side. Its on the plants side and my wallet. What to do what to do?

A decision has to be made very very soon.
