Its the next day
Thare has been no change
Watch for the TinChicken
Maybe we'll get to see him within the next few days with the warmer weather that's coming.
You think I am not counting the hours?
I check and recheck the thermometers here.
I have soooo many jobs for the garden that requires the snow be gone .
I will be at top speed the minute I can see dirt.
You are too funny. Jack was standing beside me, here at the computer, and he asked about the tin chicken. So we went through the thread and I showed it to him.
What will be your first job when you can see the earth?
I want to move the xmaswreath trellis to its permanent place in the Giant hosta garden. It will have Vagabond on it .Astilbes Rheinland and your tall pinks plus (not in the collage) gold Hakonegrass, and Mona Lisa lilies.
Then I will tackle the fence around the phlox David and move it to tthe Baptisia that spreads too far.
Last will be the new trellis. I want to sink the legs in and give the 2 more stable cable ties and permanence.
It will be too soon to unearh the container that will be moved to the trellis area. They are decieving and always stick to the ground.
This is a photoshopped image of the clems for the trellis area
Looks like you'll be very busy when you get the weather to cooperate, Jo Ann.
You're 100% right about being very careful moving pots. The bottoms are prone to remaining stuck to the earth.
Love the idea of Hakonechloa and the Mona Lisa. I keep thinning my Hakone (to keep the roots from getting too close to any bulbs) and it keeps on growing by leaps and bounds. I love it with hosta, too.
Love the Hakone, begonia and coleus - all different leaves/textures/colors!
Impatiens and some missplaced ginger. I forgot how hot and sunny that gets in July and August. Those gingers were moved.
Your photos make my coffee taste better!
thanx
I like your plans, Jo! Need to find some space for the clems I ordered.....am starting a new garden in front of the stone wall in the back of the house.......the dogs have pretty much trashed that area, so I will have to fence them out....think for now it will be DLs & iris.....
Oh, such nice plans, Jo and Robin! I love to hear what others are planning to do. You just can't go wrong with the plans you've both mentioned. Can't wait to see the end results in pics!
Absolutly ,results count
Hurray! Now we need to see the rest of his body.
I'll bet two cents it will happen on Saturday morning - February 19, 2010.
LOL!!!! @ Wizard of Oz!
May be before thet. If warm Rains appear on Thursday it will take out all the snow on the table.
wow that was fast!
Littrly overnight
The flapping wings of the "Flying Monkeys" (Wizard of Oz) might help with air circulation.
53...grumbling here here at 36
AAAwwwww, cute pup !!!!
Kobwebz - I love your dog. What breed is it? Seems happy enough not to want to roam and that's what I love.
Parking lots still have huge mounds but around here it's melting fast and it's only at the side of the streets that there's anything more than a few measly inches.
The pup has a beautiful face!
It's a cutie, for sure.....53 degrees here right now, but i don't see as much melting as Jo is getting.....
Oh my gosh your puppy is ADORABLE Greater Swiss? Bernese?
Thanks for the compliments about the puppy, he is 11 weeks old, his name is Giddeon and he is supposed to be 1/2 Gordon Setter and 1/2 Border Collie. Don't see any border collie in him, he is however a dead ringer for the gordon setter. Got him from the SPCA he was shipped here with his litter from Tennessee.
Best wishes for you and the beautiful Giddeon.
We dont have that much snow.
Kobwebz - who shovels the walkway?
nice melt going on there joann.
Frozen today but tomorrow yummy.
I am the shoveler, my man lives in the Catskills so I do most everything. He did come last weekend and installed a new hot water heater for me. Have lived alone for almost 6 years after a 25 year marriage, it's nice not to have someone tell you what you can and can't do, or have to have meals ready at a certain time, but when you need help with something it sure is nice to have someone around. We got engaged in Dec. 07, met on cupid.com. Both in our mid 50's. Have a huge old victorian house that always needs work. Would like to sell and move down south, fuel oil is killing me this winter, up to $33 a day to keep the house at 60. Love this web site, have done a ton of seed trading and so many nice people. Here is a picture of us.
Whose painting?
Wow, you still look like a kid, Kob! Good luck with Giddeon, it's so nice to have a pup around!
