A bird with major gastro-intestinal problems.

LOL Margaret.
I have more than a dozen Bird species that come to eat and pick through 'Horse Poop'.
I for one personally don't understand what they see in it. :-(((

So you are wrong.

You are right again Resin.
For years and years we knew this elusive small Bird as Richard’s Pipit.
Some authors split the Australasian Pipit further into two species: Australian Pipit (Anthus australis) in Australia and New Guinea and New Zealand Pipit (Anthus novaeseelandiae) in New Zealand.
Next they will be splitting the ones in my front yard from my neighbors. ;o(

When will it ever end ???

Or possibly Dung Beetles ?
“It forages on the ground for small invertebrates such as beetles, spiders and insect larvae. It will also eat seeds such as those of grasses.” Wikipedia.
Yummmm! That makes me even less enthusiastic.
Unprocessed seed in dung.

These guys are very timid.
Every now and again I catch them by surprise.
And My Camera is always with me.

Here in Ozz we are having a bit of a discussion on how Birds pick up food.
With their left or right leg ?
Could be the “Topic for a new Thread”.
This particular one is ‘right’.

Thanks! Rock Pipits live on coasts where they get very used to people, so they're easily approached.

I've not managed to get a photo of a Meadow Pipit or a Tree Pipit yet! They're more timid.

Sweet!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Yewwwww they must really be desperate to dig in Horse Poop. But from your pics, it's seems more like a delicacy to them. :)
The Galah and Fairy Wren are really lovely. I received and email today, of birds from your country, and the Fairy Wren couple and the female Bowerbird were in it. Thanks to you, I recognized it, from your shots.

When I am riding up the driveway on the Ride-On Mower.
These guys like to play chicken with me.
They fly up behind me, then pass on my right and swerve and cut me off.
All this whilst they are screeching at full volume.
Can you imagine this sound coming up behind you ??? :O( [play it loud]

My next group of Pictures will be The Rainbow Lorikeet. (Trichoglossus haematodus)
I have posted this old Picture on dg before.

Terrific pictures! Beautiful birds!

I must say we get a little blasé about all our Birds Lily.

I for one, personally don't understand what Birds see in 'Horse Poop'.
And this is the worst offender.
All he needs is a pair of horns and he would look like Satan.
Any one know what it is ? [I don't]

Great shots, Ginger. I love the one of the Rainbow Lorikeets in the tree. That's the one I was talking about earlier. Thanks for finding it.

The birds in your last post are White-winged Choughs. The white is under the wings and is used in courtship displays.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Thanks Margaret,
Now I can Google them and learn about them.

Your ID of these Birds has solved one of my biggest Bird mysteries.
These Pictures are 2 years old.
I always thought they were Pied Currawong. [silly me]
And they are indeed White-winged Choughs.
I’m not trying to correct you but both these next Pictures of mine are of the Bird in flight.
Both Pictures were taken from above the Bird as they were landing in a tree.
The white is definitely on top.
