I was not aware we could not post a Picture if we ‘Quote someone in a post’ ???
It can be done - hit the 'Quote' button, select and copy the resulting text in the message box, then use the back button to go back to the thread, and paste the text into the normal reply box. Then add the pic in the Image box as usual.

Great pics. Ginger! Wow!
Nice photos, ginger. Great details.
I think most people know the Laughing Kookaburra in the first of the four shots above, but may not know the Common Myna (or Mynah), a bird introduced from south-east Asia which poses a major threat to native species. There is a lot of information on the web about them, but this link provides some brief but pertinent information. http://www.feelsecure.com.au/myna%20bird.htm
The last bird is a Masked Lapwing, an Australian native.
We don't have the Common Myna or the Masked Lapwing in Western Australia and the Kookaburra is also an introduced species here.
Oh wow! Thanks Margaret, you just reminded me of the very same birds (Mynahs) that I saw in Hawaii on last year vacation. Ding ding (light bulbs busting), they were quite people-oriented. I meant they were not easily ran off by humans present.
If you have ever been walking along and you hear this shrill behind you.

You know you are in deep trouble.
When you listen to this sound clip turn it up really loud.
It makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up === :+((
Have you got any shots that show the spurs on their wings, ginger?
Interesting birds Ginger, great shots.

The deep trouble you'd find yourself in is from the spur on the leading edge of each wing. As you can see, these birds are ground breeders and (usually) don't take too kindly to anyone, man or beast, approaching their nest and will fly at offenders, using a wing as a weapon.
How did you manage to get so close to the nest & eggs without being attacked, Ginger?
