The snow is letting up here. Guessing between the storm yesterday and today looking at 18"
I know the snow is getting deep out there as I watch the deer and their legs are starting to disappear!
Weather in your garden # 88
Well, one good thing is that the groundhog did not see his shadow. Spring will be here in six weeks.

I liked today's BC cartoon. Hopefully this will post right...
Love that BC comic!
Son had a delayed opening, freezing rain started around 2am and kept up all morn.
Now it's just super foggy and 35°
Hubby stuck at work have to go pick him up, yuck, did not want to have to go out
Too cute, Dave! Have not gotten the Hartford paper in 2 days, miss some of my comics....Just came in from shoveling the front walk.....about 3" of sleet locked in with a 1/4" of ice....had to break the surface into small chunks, then it kept sliding off the shovel, & no place to throw it....that's it....I'm officially MAD!
Stay safe, Jen!
Hubby just called, he got out so now I don't have to go...YAY...I told him to stop at the store though we need eggs and bread...hee hee
Devious flow, I like that.
Robin dog, I'm with u!
snow has stopped here - still very cold about 15 - snow shoeing was slow going more like high leg lifts with snow weights - was out foe about an hour - hope the nice trail i made does not turn into a super highway for the deer!!
I had the same problem with trying to get rid of the ice on the sidewalk. I tossed it as hard as I could and it just came rolling back at me. :( There is a storm drain in front of the house that I try to keep open and running but I still get an icy puddle on the apron.
I loved the BC cartoon. Snow changed to freezing rain & now turning back to snow. Will someone go up & wring out the clouds?
Hard freeze tonight - in Phoenix!!
we were mostly missed by this storm too, 6 inches this morning, with just a spurt of freezing rain on top, snowed a little more during the day
You guys have my sympathy, except Bill who is in Nirvana. All we got here was rain. It actually helped to melt some of the snow from the previous storms. 37º right now.
Roof collapses are big news lately. This one just a few miles away was caught on video. http://www.necn.com/02/02/11/Unbelievable-video-Roof-of-commercial-bu/landing_newengland.html?blockID=402537&feedID=4206
Unbelievable.

Edited to add;
There are normally 180 enployees in this 150,000 Sq Ft building but only 50 were there today because of the storm. They had less than a minute warning to get out.

Wow - scary.
We just got lots of rain. Patti
Robin - thank you for the snow pics. You know I miss it!!
Ummmmm, errrr, ummm.......this photo pretty much sums it up for us.......[sorry]......
Hello Dem.....nice to meetcha!!
Y'all stay safe.......WC - I'm still giggling here imagining you fake break dancing! Great recovery!!! Really glad you got out of it okay!
You have a strong sadistic streak, Louise!
Yeah, that IS how it must look. I feel guilty even coming onto the weather thread!!! :)
Way to go, Deb!! Hee hee!
-Thanks Louise, I was giggling all last night thinking of that! lol!
They should have been sending their maintenance guys up there to shovel periodically, those flats roofs are famous for collapsing but the entire building...WOW looked like it was made out of cardboard.
Another snowball coming at the themomiter--Boston now totals 70.5". We got 6" the first of these last 2 storms, not sure how to measure the 2nd one as it was not all snow.
24 now... but the real feel is 17.... going to 28... going to be a wonderful day driving around today
We only got 11" in this last storm and were spared the ice part. Have another storm coming in Sat. night/Sunday morning then another on tues. of next week. Never got out of the teens yesterday, looks like we might get up to the 20's today.
16° cloudy
22 and breezy. Driveway is very icy.
i think the total here was just over a foot for both storms
weeze i am loving it although i had to shovel down the piles at the end of the driveway last night so we would not get t-boned.
great picture deb!
suposed to get another 6" saturday!!
I just read this and had to giggle, I know it's not funny for you guys but for this Mainer is, because thats our normal snowfall.
"Newark, N.J., was hit with 62 inches of snow through Jan. 27, compared with the seasonal average of 25 inches. In New York City, 56 inches of snow has fallen on Central Park, compared to the 22-inch seasonal average. "
I'm spreading sand on mine.
23°, wind from the Northwest at 14 mph giving us a windchill of 11°, humidity at 57% and it's snowing here on this Thursday morning
Skies becoming partly sunny and then clearing by tonight, remaining breezy during the day. High temp of 25° expected, low of 10° for tonight.
And that's why I don't live in Maine!!! ^_^
I think you might have as much snow if not more than me this year! I feel bad because you have no where to put it in the city. I read some places where hiring melting machines!
our average is 95"
UCK Deb!!!
My brother gets more than me as he lives at the base of the mountains in Western Maine....i'm good w/what I get!
I grew up near Syracuse, and that's where my family still is, and they average 115"
We've gotten that much here a few years ago...it's hard to keep up with but sure does insulate the plants and house! Up in the Northern area of Maine they see 160 - 180" and I think to myself thats 3X taller than me!!!!!!
Roofs are collapsing all over my area, one in town yesterday, but it was vacant...a fellow was removing snow next door, & he said he never heard a thing....the roof just fell in....I see the plow has dumped a frozen mass of ice in front of my drive......yes, I'm really looking forward to a few more "wintry mix" storms in the next few days! Louise, the photos I took were for my friends in the Villages....he built the wellhouse for us.....but if you're missing it, enjoy it!
