Snow coming down, very gently but a lot of it.

Sun is six degrees higher at local noon now compared to winter solstice. Woo hoo!!

Snowing here too.

A few flurries, high was 30 degrees, not a bad day.....heavier flurries tomorrow...I'm babysitting at the farm for a few hours, hope it starts after I'm home.....

Nice, fresh, new snow falling here now..

I noticed today the snow was looking quite dirty, but I'm sure Mother Nature will soon fix that....on the news tonight it was reported that Waterbury is hiring a snow melting machine....it will cost $3,000 for the day.....man, I would almost pay that to have my yard cleared!

Think we live to far apart to split that service?

Can do without new snow, even if the old is dirty.

Went sledding tonight...had a blast...we have a HUGE park (350 acres) on the other side of town, has all kinds of different areas, hiking, biking, dog park, skate park etc and a sledding area that is located right next to the hospital. LOL

Going up another degree to 34° today, afternoon and evening flurries expected, going down to 19° tonight.

Looks like they've decided not to clean the side streets here which makes for a slushy, Icy mess. Guess they ran out of salt & sand for this year. I hear the town's snow budget has been maxed out for the year and it's only the first month of winter!

36° sunny earlier today & bright light cloudy now. Went grocery shopping. DH took the top off the snowbank so now it is level with the roof of the car. A bit hairy backing out of the driveway.

Spent most of the day at the farm where the temp actually hit 32.....had snow flurries is morning, expecting more tonight......son is coming over tomorrow to remove some snow from the roof....

I think my cellphone is dropping calls due to all the snow on my roof!

looks like it's going to hit Tuesday night... don't know where we are going to put all this snow if it keeps up.. my moms town was hard to get around the streets now... just terrible

It snowed/rain mixed here off and on all day yesterday. Snowing now again, snow showers on Tues. snow storm on Wed. and snow showers on thursday.....how depressing!

35° here this Sunday morning, wind from the West at 8 mph, humidity down to 53% and it's mostly sunny outside!
Remaining partly sunny today, going up another degree to 36°. Wind shifting from the North later this afternoon with continued clearing. Tonight's low expected at 13° as we drop down again into the low temps.

Cantore from the Weather Channel is comparing this coming big storm to the big ice/snow storm of '93.

I was living in Fla in '93, when I called my friends up here they told me how slippery and bad it was to walk around. - it stayed that way for about a week!

I had to use the ice grippers to walk around Astoria.

Great having a son old enough to shovel!!

- I may get a snow blower for next year if we expect more winters like this..

My daughter will help more with the shovelling.

I was working at a mall in '93 that was down in a valley...all those ice stroms made it so treacherous going to and from work and at that time had a jerk of a store manager that made you go to work first and then call him to tell him how the roads were, if we should have a delayed opening or not.

It hit 35 today.....it's now flurrying with the sun out.....so glad Garret got most of the snow off the roof....all we need is ice on top of that snow.....

Right now they're forecasting rain here for Wednesday. Hope it stays that way....without ice.

A couple teenagers were there with their dog and the one girl had the dog pulling her on the sled

A double storm coming Tue. & Wed. I don't like the looks of it at all. Snow piles are already so high & the news reported a dog killed as she came off a snowbank. Drivers can not see.
