I think you've posted these on the wrong thread, nanny. They're not dreadful at all. Far from it. You're going to have to lower your game a bit.

Port Elizabeth, South Africa(Zone 10a)

Nanny the cardinal looks like it took a nose-dive!

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

Guys, I'm still here, wasn't able to get any decent pix, only ones like this. Though I'm happy this RB WP is still hanging tough with us. Winter will be behind us soon--please, please.

Blue Jay dropping his peanut & me not being able to get the camera to focus!!

Nanny, I had the exact same problem this afternoon at the osprey nest when a flock of Black Cockatoos flew over, circled around the nest before flying on. Do you think that lens would focus. No way! Here is the result.

I know the feeling.

I’m sure I dropped my house/nest keys right here.

The worst piece of ‘Synchronised Swimming’ I have ever seen.
All the Pelicans were out of sync. :-(

Take a look at the expression on the poor guys face.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Thank you Little_things,
Did you know from little things big things grow ?

But they really are my worst Pictures.
All my good ones are on the Thread “Birds from Queensland”.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1157650/
Perhaps you were only looking at the ‘Thumb prints’ ?
Please look at my more Gooder Pictures and give me a second opinion. ;o)

Port Elizabeth, South Africa(Zone 10a)

Nope - I looked at the pics. LOL! I can tell you I would be proud of those!LOL

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

OK then Little_Things,
I officially hand over the rights to those 5 Pictures in this thread.
You can now call them yours and be as proud of them as you like. 

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

lol you two. Ginger, I'm with Rian. My compliment to you for those great pictures. I too have followed your other thread with awe and admiration. I love them all. Wanna see a dreadful pix? Here comes....

This is truly my most ‘Dreadful BIRD Picture’ I have ever taken. [no bird at all]
I was stalking a Satin Bower Bird early one chilly morning.
This Guy had been in my tent in my absence and stolen food and my Mouth Organ.
I was about to snap the Satin Bower Bird inside his bower when this Guy started playing
“Somewhere over the Rainbow.” Just like Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo’ole.
http://vimeo.com/8578344
I missed the Satin Bower Bird all together.
But I did enjoy the Macropods rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow. ;o)

LOL, very cute!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

LOL too funny Ginger........... I also love the ones Little_things wants. I'm jealous, you gave them to him.
Now Kim that last shot, is ssssssome bad, you did goodddddddddddd on messing that one up. ;)) Like the other two, they don't belong here.
Now Nanny, do you really think that's a peanut he drops? I'm not so sure. ;)
Margaret, that's impossible.
Oh hugger, just what is that? Do you suppose it's something like mine?

As you can see from this Picture.
The loud playing of music scared away the male and all I got was an empty ‘bower’.
I will be adding my good Pictures taken the next day to my ‘Birds of Queensland’ thread later on.

Good grief! Ginger, I thought I saw a bird as well. I've to double-take, close up, and still not sure what I'm looking at!

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Nice Tawny Frogmouth! Well worth adding to BirdFiles: http://davesgarden.com/guides/birdfiles/go/1288/

Resin

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Hah, I went and looked, indeed Ginger has added a clear pix of the bird two years ago. Nicely done Ginger!

PERTH, Australia

That's wonderful, Ginger. Lucky you. We hear them at night, but never see them during the day.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Margaret, are they bigger than the Kookaburas?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

LOL Lily.
People think it’s an Owl. [but no]

You are spot on Resin.
It is very hard to get them to open their eyes for a good snap.
But I persisted.

About the same.
Maybe slightly bigger.

PERTH, Australia

Yes, Kim, I agree with Ginger. Kookaburras have really big heads, though.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

They're absolutely fascinating birds! Thank you Margaret and Ginger for bringing/introducing me to such wonders! Thanks also go to Resin from whom I have learned so much.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

An amazing find Ginger, I two did a double take on it, I was going to comment on" a great nature sculpture. lol
Very interesting birds you guys have.

I totally agree with you Lily.

Resin is such a wealth of knowledge.
He has most likely never seen a Frogmouth in the wild.
But I feel he knows so much more than I do about our Indigenous Birds.
I’ll keep posting My Pictures and let He and Margaret ID them for Yall.

Port Elizabeth, South Africa(Zone 10a)

Crazy - I went back a few times to study the pic - really great find.
