Truly awful shots, everyone. How about this of a New Holland Honeyeater?
Dreadful bird pics, vol. 18
Hack, looks like he's camera shy.;)
hee hee hee , great camouflage bird. Marna.
Now Little, are you really sure that`s a kingfisher, kinda look like a kid's toy to me. lol
Kim, those darn branches wanted to be the center of attention again uh?
UFO alert, hide, Nanny, hide. ;)
No amount of tweaking could help this guy.
Honeyeater " look Ma, no wingssssssssssssssssssssssssss." Get out of the way Margaret!!!! ;)
Looks like a ball of twine with an eyeball.
LOL. Good description
Margaret that bird hates tickers - "try and id me!"
I think Burn's got it. Just need to have the type of honeyeater ID'd
No, nanny. That's dreadful. LOL
LOL. Wait 'til you see mine.
So many great bad shots! I love it when you have to add arrows to show where the bird is!
Lily, I thought that heron was eating the missing link. Who knew chipmunks were the missing link?
Hack, those leaves just always want their picture taken. They're such hams.
OK, I've got y'all beat and not only that but it might have been a lifer. You're not going to believe that the camera actually took this picture. No enhancement. I heard a barn owl & recorded the sound of it. I went looking for it. I think it flew across the marshy field right in front of me -- big, gold and white colored, flying low like a northern harrier. Pulled camera up and forced this shot in the near total darkness. It's flying from left to right.
That's so funny. Hail Elphaba, queen of the truly dreadful photograph.
LOL,LOL, 2nd vote from me. Oh thanks Resin...gotta run, will post some pics. to share this evening. A white throated sparrow; I knew if I roll my window down to get a clearer pix, the bird would fly off. It surely did when I rolled the window down, at least I've got this one shot through the car's window. :)
Why, why decide to take the pic - the bird is black as well - drongo!
I do the same thing...lol!
Elphaba, that is REALLY weird!
I do that too! You never know. I always imagine that it might turn out better than I think. It never does!
as for heads -- who needs stinkin' heads. That's a great body shot.
I just wonder sometimes what is going on in my head - maybe "nothing"....LOL!
thanks for the laughs, you are funny.little_things
Riverland - that looks very good - you are definately at the right club!LOL
Q: Do you guys get worked up on birding outings! Quick story - about 7 years ago (long, long ago hehehe) we were doing birding in a park (with lions etc - so all done from the car). We usually put the windows down and slowly drive around looking for stuff. We also go in a birding trance and speak softly softly - anyway we were bumping along when we came round a corner and two secretary birds came out the bush - I did not see them, the wife did, but she forgot the window was down, she forgot softly softly, and SHOUTED "secretary birds"!!! I nearly through my camera out the window, forgot to push the clutch, just jammed on the breaks, the vehicle did not know What I wanted to do so it tried to go forward and stop at the same time and my wife by now forgot about the birds and where more interested in keeping the coffee in the cup - I got my voice back and asked "WHERE?". She looked at me with angry MOM eyes and said - 10 meters back! I looked and only saw 4 legs and a dust trail. I sighed and drove off, after a while I said: Remeber to tick them off, Love! We looked at each other and broke out in roaring laughter!
Ha. that's great story.
this thread always makes me chuckle..Thanks,The comentary helps too...= }
I love that shot too Pelle! Those wings are amazing.
Mrs. Ed, those feet are quite impressive.
huggergirl, hope the new visitor will come out of the shrubery and shows itself clearly next time. lol.
And we can hope he faces me next time !!! That really was a long zoomed shot,I was surprized it was not blurry too
Saw a red-tailed hawk yesterday like that. Couldn't see his head!
