Lastly, a ditto shot of the one I shared the other day except that this time I got the tail - Orange-crowned Warbler.

Teddy, cute chickadee.

Elphaba, great photos of all your cute birds. Are the finches and that warbler actually drinking the sugar water? I've just seen my birds sitting on our feeders, but not actually drinking. I'll have to train mine better.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Yep, they drink it. Here's the lady with a bit of dribble on her chin.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Thanks Elphaba, is that feeder open on the bottom or does it have the usual feeder ports? I'm really going to have to train my birds better!

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

ducbucln - great pix. the only one who I've never seen around here is the Red-breasted Nuthatch, pretty.

GrannyGrunt - about those chickadees - with my 400 Prime lens, I see the little rascal, point the camera at it, finally find it in the viewfinder, and then just before I finish half depressing the shutter, its GONE! Argh! And titmice aren't a lot more cooperative, either.

Elphaba - I enjoyed all your pic too, but the Yellow-rumped Warbler, to me, gets the blue ribbon. AND I haven't ever seen anything at my hummer feeders but hummers and yellow-jackets.

After watching the birds around the house, I went over to Cooper Creek Pond Park and had a good session.

Up in the canopy at home, I snapped this Carolina Chickadee, hammering on a seed.

then I saw this Pine Warbler, is that it's tongue I see sticking out the corner of its beak?

then I saw this Tufted Titmouse. It took flight just as I snapped its pic.

From the other day, I got me a pic of a White-throated Sparrow. I had the Canon 1.4x TC behind the 70-200 f/2.8 lens for this shot. Auto focus worked.

And from the pond I saw this creature. Looks like there's been some hanky-panky going on. What is this thing?

And my last one for now is one that I rather like. I caught this Great Egret as it was flying from one spot to another.

Yep, definitely!! It's a hybrid between a Canada Goose and a farmyard domesticated goose.

Great shots Hack, I love the pine warbler.

It's been storming all day, so didn't have the computer plugged in and battery went dead. Have to hurry and unplug again. Glad to get the rain. I just wish the forecast had been accurate. They said 1" so I got enough of the leaves off the plants to let the water through. If they'd said 3-5", I would have cleaned the gutters so I wouldn't have the mess I have now.

Anyway, feeder is a hummer feeder with the top part that has the ports taken off, so basically it's just has a tray of sugar water. Two years ago, only the Pine Warblers and Orange-crowned warblers drank from it. Last winter, I had no takers at all, and this year, all the birds are drinking from it even the blackbirds. Oops, here comes another battery of storms. Gotta go!

Here's an orange-crowned with her head in the tray. This is how most of these pics turn out -- headless!

Thanks for the new thread Dave and as always your shots are awesome! Of course you know that I am partial to the Bluebird shots and I love the one of the 2 Blues together.

Wonderful contributions on this fast moving thread everyone.

I have some pics but need to crop and edit them so will be back later.

PERTH, Australia

Lovely shots, everyone.

I'll echo what others, have said, Dave, about your wonderful opening photos.

Duc, I can't get over how you have Bald Eagles perched in your trees. To get closer, get a 500mm lens. LOL

She wasn't interested, so he moved to the other end of the antenna, but his target there was just as blase, so he went looking further afield.

Margaret! They match the background perfectly! Beautiful!

Here are some more pix from the pond.

I love the smooth water around this American Coot. It's eye stands out nicely, too.

Hack, super shot of the Pine Warbler's tongue! Great shots at the pond!

Elphaba, thanks for answering my question. I'll have to find something to try that open feeder.

Margaret, lol, who needs a television when they have the turtledoves? He sure was a handsome guy, guess the ladies know something we don't about him.

This poor Brewer's Blackbird was trying to keep his balance on the railing in the high winds. He's got a bit of peanut butter on his beak.

The two Red-breasted Nuthatches keep me laughing all day long. They pick one perch to get to the peanut butter/nuts, but after taking a bite from one hole, they flip down and take from a lower hole.

I caught the half open eye in this shot.

Duc, That Nuthatch is adorable!!!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow, Duc, those nuthatch pics are really cool.

Margaret, beautiful dove shots. I can't believe that you can even make a tv antenna look good!

Hack, nice action shots. Must have been a really great day.

Hobart, IN

just had to share it! They got names out of this pic, Bert and Ernie. Bert on the left. Finally got the gorilla tripod out and remote shutter release to see a difference, WOW. Gonna try that more often, looking for some splash pics in the bath soon!!!

It was rainy and wet today, did not see any birds, I think the hawk was still around, was at a neighbors house most of the day. I put a twistie on the suet cage to see if that will keep the raccoon from stealing the suet cake. Still have not seen the red-bellied woodpecker yet, he is a wily fellow. I was standing outside the other day and the nuthatch was talking to me, then he came down and took a sunflower seed off the ledge.

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Wow, great pictures all. Margaret, poor Turtle Dove.
