OH my gosh reminds me of my days at JCP when I ran Sports. We had to be in extra early for the truck to deliver the championship merchandise, check it in and ticket it super fast before we opened, had people waiting at the doors and they ran into the store the second we opened....CRAZY
Sports Talk!! Part 6
BTW don't forget to add your beard hair to the compost...
New stadium was very nice, though the food was $$ for a minor league place. 16 oz Blue Moon was $9!
Whoa...no cheap drunks there! How was the game?
great duck boat parade today in bean town
Sorry, but NY has real parades.
over a million showed up.............and behaved
Kept in line by the duck??
no - just so very happy we won the cup!
yes everyone was well behaved...when I was arriving for the RS game people were starting to leave from the parade. Never got into get my Bruins pin...my train was late getting in and I had friends parked outside waiting. But I'll get it sometime over the summer. They were already cleaning up the streets after the parade. Boston has this parade thing down...I guess it's all the recent championships this decade ;)
yes 7 in 10 years - practice makes perfect!
yes wha! My fear is the kids here will come to expect it (maybe that's not a bad thing...It'll keep owners doing what they belong doing: building competitive teams.
yup - my nephew's have no idea what not having a championship team is like. it would be nice if it stayed that way although not likely.
Like living in NY. ^_^
ny not close to seven in last 10 years. giants and yankees who else?
I'm thinkin' "the boss" is rolling in his grave w/ some of the decisions his sons have made since he passed.
No - not the last ten years. Just in general. Don't think we ever had the four major sports in a short time like you did.
Especially since NY has 2 baseball, 2 football & 2 hockey. sounds like there will be 2 basketball in a couple years.
they kind of do have 2 basketball counting the Nets - both fooball play in Jersey - 3 football with the Bills or do they count:) 3 hockey too
No, we don't count the Bills. Philly is closer!
You wouldn't have a parade in NYC for Buffalo.
try being in Cleveland. So close, but no champianships yet. Not since '48 in baseball.
Ouch!
NBC has lost the Wimbleton tennis to ESPN. I suppose that is business but too bad for those who don't have cable. We have friends who don't who are great Red Sox fans & can no longer see their games. Sports are no longer seen by some people so we get 'reality shows". Oh ugh!

Awful.
That's when I would get a satellite dish! Who are these imposters wearing Mets uniforms? Hitting a ton!
I got rid of my cable in AZ because I have MLB TV on my computer/roku so I get to watch my Red Sox when I'm there....but when I'm in Maine I'm still considered in the viewing area and the game is blacked out on MLB TV so I have to suck it up and get the expanded cable package. It's only for 5 mos. but it is the point that either you subscribe or listen on radio (which I do often and if it came down to $$$, I'd do it without much fanfare ... no pun intended ; p )
I'll start a new thread as this one is long.
