Oh gosh, lots of sick kids out there, praying for the strength to take care of them, besides speedy recoveries for all!
Karen, No biggie that there was a mix up, I just laughed because I was picturing my almost 65yr old bro in uniform fighting...
Coffee Break #50
Oh Dear, Celeste! What an ordeal for you all! How is Justin doing today?
So sorry to hear about all the illness up there. I guess it's the time of year! I hope these bugs go away and leave everyone alone. Feel better soon!!!
Get well wishes for all of you.
Thanks all, Louise...he's the same. Wakes up with a smile, eats fairly well, then slowly fades as the day wears on. By late afternoon/early evening, his fever spikes, appetite disappears and yuk!
How scary, when they can't tell you where they hurt. Is he on antibiotics still?
Yes, his 10 days will be up on friday.
Sounds like that's not going to work then. They're not working on my granddaughter either. She's been on the zpack, she's had a course of steroids, actually a couple, and just cannot throw this. And she has not had many courses of antibiotics before this last year, so she shouldn't be resistant.
Oh Celeste that is horrible, I hope Justin gets better and you get some rest and answers♥
It seems like everyone is sick and I mean really sick not just a cold...fevers, vomiting things really hanging on. Pretty scary stuff out there this year.
Well wishes being sent to everyone♥
It's very puzzling and fustrating!!!
Not to mention exhausting! It does seem that all the bugs I'm hearing about require several rounds of heavy antibiotics. Do your best to get some rest, Celeste. Hugs to sweet Justin! Prayers and good thoughts coming your way still!!
Certainly sounds more viral than bacterial. Ruled out pneumonia??
Yeah, it does sound like pneumonia might be a good thing to rule out!
Yes, they took chest x-rays and also influenza swab
oh you poor dears.... so sorry Celeste.. hope everyone is happy & healthy real soon.... REAL SOON!!!
Just finished watching a great show on the Smithsonian Channel called Amazing Plants. Anyone else get that channel??
I think so... will have to check it out... if not maybe it's posted online
Def worth watching!
Back from the ortho. Surgery on the 19th. Depending on what he sees once in, he said he might drill small holes in the bone which draws out bone marrow. The marrow then acts like cartilage. He might also release some tissue if it's causing the cap to hang up.
Good luck, Victor. You know you'll have the DG crew praying for you. Hope all goes well and you're feeling fine sooner than either you or the doctors expect.
Thanks, pirl! I appreciate it. I was encouraged to hear that some of his patients who had the same procedure did not even need therapy afterward. Hope I'm as lucky.
sounds like almost micro-fracture surgery - i had the small holes and was told no weight on the knee for six weeks. not an easy thing to do.
good luck victor and hope it goes well.
i am ready to race on the 20th btw :)
Best of luck with that Victor!
Best wishes Victor, My daughter has now had surgery on both knees, and had excellent results with both. She had 6 weeks therapy with the first one and two with the second. Two weeks is nothing and they do teach you some good exercises. With the second she was only out of work two weeks. Hard to believe, but a dentist actually puts a lot of pressure on their knees the way they bend forward to work on patients.
Hubby had a similiar surgery with the 2 little holes in his knee 20 yrs ago...I'm sure things have changed but he hasn't had any problems since.
Good luck, Victor! I've put it on my calendar,so I'll be there beaming you extra good thoughts during the procedure! I'm sure you are happy to be getting it over with after waiting all this time to know what will be done. Sounds like a very good way to go.
Thanks, all! Much appreciated.
Bill, that's what it is.
Good luck Victor, hope it works out for you♥
Hope everyone gets better quickly....it's very stressful.....Victor, hope your surgery is successful ......
Thanks, ladies.
Just found out that a guy that we're friends with has been cheating on his wife for the past 8yrs...I called him today to get some info for work and I guess he felt like confessing....He had me in tears....they are going for counselling, together and separately.
Oh - how terrible.
Poor guy!!
- Don't worry victor everything will be fine!
Sorry to hear about Justin, Celeste. That's awful, for all of you involved, but for you and Justin, especially.
Bill, I hope you're feeling well soon. I've had the stomach virus. That was before Christmas. Hoping to avoid sore throat problems. My sister, who has been in NM the last couple of weeks, came down with tonsillitis while she was over there. She got on antibiotics, and it took a couple of days before she was feeling better again.
Polly, sorry to hear about your granddaughter. Hope she gets well soon.
WC, glad to hear that your DW is better now.
Wow, everyone here is getting sick!
Good luck on your surgery, Victor.
Terrible about your friend cheating on his wife, Jen. I'm sure glad to hear he is remorseful about it and they are both going to counseling.
I don't know if I mentioned it here, but my Dad took a fall in the living room early on New Year's Eve. A friend was at the house watching him, but she was in the bathroom. When she came out she found Dad on the floor. He was complaining of some pain in his left side. I got home from work shortly thereafter, and he was not walking well. Was very uncoordinated. He went to the bathroom, and I had to check on him, as he was making a lot of noise in there. Good thing I did, as he was about to fall backwards into the tub, he was so unsteady pulling up his pants. I had to have my friend help me get him into the car, as he was leaning back while walking. I took him to the hospital. After six hours and a number of tests, they sent him home. He was walking around fine by that time. They found nothing, but gave him antibiotics and fluids via IV, saying he could have a possible UTI.
The next day we went for a walk in Plymouth with Patches. He was much slower than usual, and near the end of the walk he was walking funny again. Had to sit him down on a bench and go back to the car without him. When we got back home he was fine again. Nothing like that since then, so I don't know what's going on. Since that last incident Saturday he's been fine.
Karen
Wow that's strange, Karen...I hate when the drs can't find anything..
Oh no Karen that sounds scary...hope nothing serious with your dad.
If my husband cheated on me for 8 days he would be out the door let alone 8 years. In my eyes no amount of counseling can make you forget or accept that! Call me old fashioned but I believe in that thing called fidelity!
Thanks, Jen and Ronnie. I sure hope things will be fine with him, too. I keep having thoughts that he might be going to a nursing home soon. To top it all off, his old dog of 13 years, Buffy, is having a lot of trouble with arthritis and urinating in the house. He may be leaving us soon. Too sad.
Karen
Yes, 8 yrs is a bit much. Took a pretty long time for guilt to set in. Doubt I could ever forgive that.
Hope your dad improves, Karen!
Don't know if I could forgive an affair that lasted that long, either, but everyone is different.
Karen
