DAILY BIRD PICTURES, VOLUME 365
Another composite.
The EXIF says (for both composites)
Camera Maker: Canon
Camera Model: Canon EOS 40D
Image Date: 2010-02-14 16:38:55 -0500
Focal Length: 500.0mm
Aperture: f/6.3
Exposure Time: 0.0013 s (1/800)
ISO equiv: 3200
Exposure Bias: none
Metering Mode: Matrix
Exposure: Manual
Exposure Mode: Manual
White Balance: Auto
Flash Fired: No (Manual)
Color Space: sRGB
NO WAY. I was using a 70-200mm (at 200) with a Tamron 1.4 TC. How it got 500mm on the EXIF is a mystery to me. but even 200 x 1.4 x 1.6 (the 40D) = 448mm, not 500.
NO WAY. - I was no where near 3200. More like around 1600.
1/800 sounds about right.
You reckon the TC was the cause of the discrepancy.

I have two new suet feeders, one on the side of the house that I showed you all earlier and one in the back. This is the first time I've seem a bird at the one in the back. I thought the R-b WP had left, but all she did was move to this other feeder.
I took this using my new 70-200mm F2.8 IS lens.

Lol, just wrote you all messages about your pics and then accidentally went back to look at one again and erased my message! Here I go again...
GG, great start! Love the Titmouse especially.
Bestmissy, nice sparrow. I think it's one that I've never seen.
Lily, glad you're feeding those goldfinches. There are some around here but they are not coming to the feeders at all.
Burd, nice ones -- love the starling photo. Not my favorite bird but they are pretty.
Red, just love the bluebirds!
Rose, fantastic shots! I was justing reading about Purple finches and it said that they were big bruisers compared to other finches and there it is in your photo! Resin said I would not see one here, but they've been spotted about 20 minutes west of me. I went looking for them yesterday, but I didn't see them.
We're having record heat which is nice. I think it was 82 yesterday. I don't need a white Christmas. Teddy's photos make me cold enough!
Hack, I see you're posting really cool woodpecker shots. Hope I've waited long enough. Sorry if I interrupt.
This is probably the worst flicker shot ever posted on these threads, but I'm amazed by it! This bird was so far away that you could not see it with the naked eye. I just saw it fly off and saw the area where it landed, pointed and clicked!
Nice feeder Hack! I've been seeing a lot of Dark-eyed Junco's eating suet on my long tail prop suet feeder.
Good ones Elphaba!
My goodness, you folks are really rockin!! Great photos everyone.
Burd, that Starling is beautiful. Duc, poor little Junco. Hope he makes it okay. Rose, I have been trying and trying to get a decent picture of a Chickadee. Love yours. Elphaba, that Orange crowned Warbler looks meaner than dirt!!
Hack, love the Woodpecker side by side comparison.
Teddy, nice shot of the squirrel. Have you tried the free download Picasa? It is a nice editing program. I use it from time to time and really like it. That shot from last summer is great!
Here is a female Cardinal from today.
Teddy, Your Husband took a good shot!
GG, Good one of the lovely female Cardinal!
I hope the Heron wins! Yuck, snakes!!
Interesting "doos" on those finches! LOL
Nice shots of that hawk, Nanny. I also enjoyed the video. I think that fellow knew you were there!!
bsharf, That is really neat!
nanny, Nice ones of the persistent Coopers!
Nice pics GP!
Dave, That is adorable!
Oh now just how cute is that!!!
Good shots Dave, teddy and missy!
thebestmissy, what in the world do you have in those cans? I know it is not real wasabi! Does anyone know how to make a suet cake, I don't have any peanut butter, but I do have grease that has solidified. Could I make something oit of that?
Hi Missy, In the thread (Helpful Tips and Guides) at the top of this forum there are links to different suet recipes and other things. Here is one to the Sialis site.
