Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Carolina Wren and female Downy Woodpecker sharing a feeder. At first, the Wren tried to feed from the bottom, but the Downy made an aggressive move toward it, ran it off. Then, the wily Wren approached from the other side, I reckon the Wp couldn't see it. They fed together for quite a while.

I used the 70-200 f/2.8 IS (with Canon 1.4 TC) to capture this American Coot. I love the expression.

Off in the distance were a Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron. I don't think either one moved an inch while I watched.

I saw lots of Cormorants.

And lots of Ring-billed Gulls, too.

My final one is a female Ring-necked Duck that came cruising by. Never saw any others. I took this pic with the 2x TC behind the 70-200 lens.

My Downy is back! Saw him this afternoon and I must say was glad to have hium back, now I have to get him used to me again. He was on the suet and when I pulled back the curtain, he took off.

I'm cooking but wanted to say that I've enjoyed all of these beautiful photos!
Wishing each of you a very Merry Christmas. Keep safe if you're traveling over the holidays.

Here's a sweet House Finch in the berries.

Lord Byron (Red Headed Wp) is happy as a log with the peanuts he finds at the feeder. Hack and Mrs_ed, thank you, I'm glad you've enjoyed the view.

I tried to get a pic of the downy but I took it through the front door, I tweaked it the best I know how, but as you can tell, he's back and he was singing to me.
