Best/Worse/What did I learn today-Visit & Chat with friends

That could be quite possible couldn't it about the dangers to some, hmmmm what to do what to do???

Wonder if I just go in on Christmas Day with bags, pretend I'm a relative, stop by and chat, leave my gift and on to another room..lol

finished the bag for Suzanne, not my colors, all leftovers from her previous bags but I'm sure she'll be thrilled that I got it done for her.

Saw that I have one unfinished thread grabber that we made some time ago sitting with about 1/2 hr.'s work to it, might as well get it done.

I guess I never thought of it that way. I was just thinking of the homeless that had nothing.And thought a blanket or old coat would come in handy. Guess it gets under my skin. Maybe I will stand on the street corner and hand out then. Will anyone bail me out of jail for soliciting a quilt on the street corner???
Ok now I am done ranting.......

Think it's digusting also Laura and it does irk me to no end..all what you hear is help the less fortunate, this is needed, that is needed and then when you try and do your best, nope, no can do...and here breakfast television said this was 'no complaining day' and said 'how long before you complain today' yikes, think I lasted 10 minutes..lol

Well Betty, you lasted 10 minutes longer than I did. Layed in bed when the alarm went off and said "Ohhhhh crappola...it is Dec. 22nd, I have not bought one gift or anything....and I don't give a rats patooty." I even got on line and looked up these "unique" gifts. Perhaps I shall give them all a Goat...or a flock of chickens...donated to another country in their name.

Going to put a note...."Sorry guys, you made the naughty list". I think I need to make my "all you get" bags this year.

If you need a silly thing to add to gifts....do this.

small decorative baggies....decorate with stickers or whatever.

On a sticky label you write or print off the computer put:

"You've been bad, so heres the scoop, all you get is reindeer poop"

Inside put milk duds, chocolate covered raisens, whoppers....whatever you fancy!

Also works with "snowman poop" and put little marshmellows in it. I did it one year when I had to give for 40 co-workers!! Made various bags for all of them. Got a mug from the dollar tree, put in two packs of hot chocolate....and then the little "baggies" of snowman poop.

LOL, know it's not funny but could see you doing a few of the above and maybe that's just what is needed, bit of reality for them. Poop would be good!!!!

Couldn't stop the bleeding last night so a good friend came over and applied pressure and stopped it for us, I didn't see the artery pumping but he did, He was a medic in the Navy. Thank God for all angels. Just have to keep it clean and watch for infection. HUGS BEV

Sorry I haven't written for a while. I have been reading the thread but life has been very busy here and not had time to write. I had to go to St. Louis the early part of December to take care of things for Dad's estate. Had a good visit with my daughter but found that she and her husband of 16 years are headed for divorce. The past two years he has been "doing his own thing", and sleeping in the basement. I guess we should have seen some of the signs but he really is a nice guy and it is a shame that things have worked out this way. The one I feel sorry for is their 15 yr. old son. He is not stupid and has things figured out on his own but still it is a shame.

I went up to Toledo on Monday to see Jonathan. I hadn't seen him since Thanksgiving and wont see him on Christmas as they are having their own special day. He has grown and he is smiling and "talking" and just the cutest thing ever! I had a good time shopping for some things for him.

I am having some of the people from the other condos here in for a party tomorrow afternoon. Only a couple are coming as it is the busy time of year. Next year I will plan this party for early in the month.

I am considering a new car! My P.T. Cruiser is a 2002 and although it has low mileage and I really love it, I am getting the new car bug. My oldest son works for Nissan and they are having a REALLY good deal for employees and their family and friends but I have to make up my mind by the end of the year.
I have two in mind but just don't know what I want to do.

I am going to Lansing for New Year's. Two friends and I are going to Frankenmuth for Wednesday and Thursday staying at the Bavarian Inn. We can swim in one of 5 pools, shop and have a great dinner. Then back to Lansing to spend New Year's Eve with friends and a relaxing New Years Day. I hope that the weather will cooperate.

We have had snow last week that has stayed because of the cold weather. Then more snow today and more due on Friday. I hope it gets it out of it's system so that next week will be clear enough for my trip and out Frankenmuth getaway.

Well, enough about me. I want to wish each of you and very Merry and Blessed Christmas with a Healthy and Happy New Year. Your friendship here on DG has been meant a great deal to me over the past year. Even when I don't write you are all there every morning to share with me your lives, hopes and dreams. I can't tell you how much that means to me.

Bev, glad you got the bleeding stopped as well and yes, thank the Lord for earthly angels..have a few walking by my side as well...

So sorry to hear about you daughter and her husband; must have been a shock for you! So glad you got to spend time with her during this difficult time. Is he still at home?

Had a fun day, lordy think if I worked from home I'd be exhausted..lol...to start with Dannie fed us lunch

Just not used to be waited on hand and foot..she says that's exactly what she's going to do while she's here and NO arguing...Darlene told me to enjoy it while it lasts.

Darlene just left, Dannie is gone to Barrie for the evening so it's home alone for me..

These pieces are ready to come out of the kiln..the square units with no centers will go on a chain/rope as holders for your glasses, the others are a few earing/pendant sets just in case someone drops by at Christmas.

Then we got the bright idea to make some inuchuk (?) pendants, goodness knows how they'll turn out. I'll fire them when the other batch comes out of the kiln tonight.

Almost time to put all the toys away until after Christmas. Tomorrow is pie making day and Jeff should arrive around 8 or 9pm. If I was a good girl I'd do some work tonight but NOT!

Debbie told us what she asked Santa for, how about you???? anything special?

I would love to have accessories for my dremmel tool. More drilling buts and grinders....

Another tool girl, lol...I have the dremmel, the router table for it, the long hose for god knows what Linda Kay, it's probably the only tool I haven't really used, bit intimidating all those parts....did your hubby help you learn how to operate it??? you'll have to give me instructions on how to..let's hope Santa drops a dremmel package to you Christmas Eve

Its a toss up between a columbia jacket ......or a tv set I can see the picture on....or a treadmill so I can exercise and not fall on the ice.

I say this about the treadmill as I sit here and eat chocolate kisses with almonds. ALmonds are nuts...good nutrition.....and we discussed the benefits of chocolate recently. I'm set!

It's just been stressful and busy.

DH has had some health problems and shouldn't be driving.....but he drove the girls 3 hours Monday beginning at 5pm traffic.... to their bio-Mom's "supervised" visitation. By Tuesday night they were calling and texting us that they were scared to stay and wanted to come home... Big commotion... his ex calling, her mother, her boyfriend, the girls.... kept him up all night and he went back to pick them up this morning.

This (I am hopeful) is a turning point for them.... they are now 17,18......and having a more mature view of everything....

I have been reading all.... great gift idea Laura! And Love the snowman poop Deb ! ((HUGS)) to all....

When I am at the bottom....which is kind of where I am right now...my humor kicks in and carries me. Right now my sad humor is on overload.

All I want for Christmas is to have a NICE lovely christmas with everyone. Teens DH and I on 12/25.... In Laws after that. Sister on 12/26-7. It just doesn't "Feel" so much like Christmas ...maybe because I have to work tomorrow.......and next week....

Sometimes I feel that I have worked my life away. Middle age crisis I guess. DS seems to have NO motivation to go to JR College but then I ask... "Why make him"? oh the Holiday Blues I suppose....

Mary it seems everyone goes here and there and all so busy and no time to relax and enjoy the reason for the season. My dog does the samething with the tree decorations she is small so we put deco up out of reach.(she is about 4lbs)

OMG, on DANNIE'S lap top and I can't type properly on her keyboard but will try...hopefully later today I'll have access to mine..just HAD it repaired right and it worked great??? love having a quick computer again..last year I bought A NEW tower, drATS to the capitALS, and no I havent been drinking, looks like I have though..lol anyway never replaced the monitor..this morning I got up AND WENT TO post and there was a big red ribbon, new wireless keyboard, new monitor with a note from santA (dANNIE) thanking me for my kindnesss...anyway a wire was missing so Dannie is gone to get one.\I went into town, got 4 new snowtires, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...then did my dressing and took it to the meat store where they are now debonning my turkey, putting my dressing in and I can pick it up at 7am tomorrow morning ready to cook...spent morning doing my fruit pies and meat pies, nw a lick and a split cleaning to tidy up my mess...Ex DIL just called and said Jeff would shortly be picking up the children, not sure if he's coming right here or going shopping and his house..have to see..


Kyle just called me from Midland, he's not wrking, out with teacher he works closely with for his Aspergher syndrom time away from parents luncheon, lol think it was more to tell me he was in Midland on the snowmobile all on his own, now this is a high powered machine, yikes, worry about that but he's so level headed guess I don't need to....nw if it was Noah I'd be worried.\Both will come later to finish their grandma's jewelery..maybe the other boys will be here and they can do some as well for their mom and grandmother.

Seniors home called, I'll drop off the afghans tomorrow morning..happy about that! Not sure I'd buy a laptop after playing with this one..lolBet you are all busy running, getting ready for santa

Betty, you have such wonderful earthly angels for sure! Laptops are a bit different that desk tops, and the kepboards take awhile to get used to! I have both, and I prefer my desktop! The laptop I take with me, when I am traveling.
So glad you have a date to drop off your afghans! You will make so many seniors very happy and warm!

Speaking of family, hadn't spoken to my mom since Friday, told her I fell and wasn't the best, wanted to see how long before she would call to see how I was, didn't LOL so I broke down and called her...

They had their dog operated on Tuesday, took part of the pad on his foot said it cost 3 so I said, 'three hundred isn't bad mom, let's hope it works' she said 'not $300 - $3,000, I love animals too but lordy comes a time when you have to be sensible...then she went on to tell me there is new medication that the blow (don't understand that part' and it's $2,000 a treatment aND the dog needs 2 treatments...ok, their money, do with it as you will, just think it's a bit much but then who am I????\


I ask her if she`s coming to dinner tomorrow night, no, want to spend all their time just Jim and her and the dog, one doesn`t know how long it might have`so I got a little upset over this, told her that she has family, what if one of us aren`t here next year, wouldn`t it be better to bring the dog and join us humans, spend time, what if she being as sick as she`s been not be here, don`t we matter got told that the dog is what is important right now and they don`t want to upset the dog.. She said she`d send my gift with my brother Mike who comes AND SNOWMOBILES with Greg and she`d see me at some point after Christmas..now tell me the truth, isn`t hat a bit much

maybe not, but it is for me....

I wanted to be sure to extend my wish in case I go missing for a while.
Things are not going in the direction, lol I mean it is but so far the timing is not what we hoped for.
(we have been waiting for a payment) The said payment was to help push us over till the new year.

Now, DH is feeling overly stressed so I will not ask him to give me any money owed to me, lol it's not all that much, but I can help by not being needy... I have everything I need right here, and all I want is for him to get some seriously needed rest! Miraculously, he has found a way that we can still go home to be with my family, what better gift is that.

We are having his Family over tomorrow, whoever can make it. So today, I am finally decorating the tree. Everyone is busy helping with chores, and I also have to wrap DH's gifts lol, mine too. I have few dollars left to get the kids an extra gift, one that is for fun, so I will go and do that a little later...Anyway, We brainstormed on an activity that we can do as a family. Julia came up with the best idea! We will hold a Prayer fire, Native style each we are going to have a special plate of tobacco and each person can offer a prayer or wish to send.

Bev, OH I am so sorry to hear of Scotties injury. Thank goodness your friend came and got the bleeding to stop!

Went to get groceries and what a mess people acting like it is the day before Christmas.
Even had police out setting up check-point soberity. Looking for drunk drivers at 1:00 in the afternoon.

Darn those Drinking Christmas parties. Imagine!!! 1 pm.... So glad I'm not out on the road today!!!!
