Let's start a titmouse thread
that's a great shot Cous!!
these birds are just soooo cute!!! They do live here in Texas but this is the first time I've seen one in my area... & I haven't seen him in a few days..though it has been freezing temps the last few days so maybe "he's" keeping warm somewhere!! I hope he comes back to my feeder though!!
As you may have noticed, I shoot bluebirds most of the time. They nest in my yard and have for many years. I feed them meal worms so they stay here year 'round. The titmice nest in the woods nearby and several years ago began coming to the deck for meal worms when they had babies in the nest. Those babies have grown and fledged and some are still coming for meal worms, especially when the weather is so raw. They are used to me and not so skittish as titmice usually are, but still they are shy and they wait until the other birds are finished. This gives me lots of time to shoot them as they wait.
Yep! Thanks Dave. Just love your pictures. They are all spectacular.
Lovely!
Love that pose. Looks king of the hill. No, they got snow all around us, but the Central Susquehanna Valley lucked out. Bitterly cold and windy here, but no snow.
That's a cute one with the beak open!
Wonderful shots Met! Those Black-crested Titmouse are very cute!
Methodical - I like that Texas Titmouse - the Black-crested Titmouse - what a different look from the Tufted T.

Wonderful shots everyone!! Met, that Texas titmouse is beautiful!!
Awww..they are such cute & pretty birds!! hahaha
Unfortunately I haven't seen ANY birds at my feeders in awhile.. it's been warming up here lately so they are probably finding lots of bugs!! There is another cold freeze due this weekend so perhaps my feeders will be emptied then!!
That's a lovely one Hack!!
I had 3 come into the yard after calling them. Wonderful little birds.

"After calling them"? Do you have some kind of recording of bird calls?
