Elizabeth, Pitcher plants need only tropical jungle to live it! ☺ I have mine in my Garden tub in bathroom and can keep it watered pretty good. Never use that garden tub, it is to big , but it is great for plants. they don't call it a garden tub for nothing. When I water and it goes thru it just goes down the drain and not on the floor.I have two little sundews I brought in and they are doing o.k. I have them in an aquarium.

elizabeth, thank you,i did not know,if you new what it was for.glad you did.

hope you know what is is for and hope you like it.
will try and send more out in feb.
now ladys, mums the word.please don't let out what these are for.lol
i love surprises.
retta
O.K. I will look forward to getting it.
Hugs
Retta...
I can't identify it but I would spray it with Neam oil befire they hatch.
spider mites??
I bought some windex with ammonia to spray on it.
yep, looks like spider mites.i used alochol and a cotton ball on a house plant that had it.it worked.
make sure you get under the leaves as well.
retta
EEPS! SPIDER MITES! oh dear.. i feel your fear and your disgust.. get em girl!
At least you can see what you are attacking.. something is eating tiny holes in my stuff, and I can't seem to find a critter..
Sprayed them last night with a insecticide. If that doesn't work, I have some glass cleaner with alcohol and ammonia in it. Sure don't want to hurt the brug!!!
I would use pure ammonia with water. The leaves will absorb the ammonia and use it as available nitrogen. Then again, spider and broad mites can get out of control very easy this time of year. I like using a systemic insecticide like Forbid and then switching to Bayer.
Charlene, so that's what I did wrong with the Pitcher plant, I guess it needed more water, I just gave up on them, there's a lot more plants, that I can grow
Retta, I did figure out what it was for, it's adorable, I love, I will be checking all my clippings, too see what is rooted, I would rather send you rooted ones
Crit, I agree it's spidermites, Kim had that pegged
Debra, did the cold weather move in on you, the first part of the week here was really nice, then it got cold again, it started
snowing yesterday, Thank goodness it didn't stick
Hugs
Elizabeth
Hey Ken, good too see you, that's some great advice

retta
Was like an early spring day here.. supposed to snow starting sunday into monday dh is having a fit cuz I am taking college girl back on Monday ( in the snow storm) ... oh goodness, I drive a honda for crying out loud.. I can handle the snow! LOL
well one of the pods fell off of kaitlyn, it kinda fell apart, I had no clue what they looked like so I took it apart the rest of the way.. ugh. I should have just let it dry first, I think. Other two pods are holding on tight. I was expecting hundreds of seeds.. LOL uhm, boy am I surprised.
I continue to learn from you all everyday.
They are calling for snow and Ice here too Debra, got to go get Longears some hay and Robert wants to check out a generator at Tractor supply. going to bring things in GH in house. Now he does it!!!!! Men. But he is going to help me bring them in. He felt bad when they froze,, I'm hoping I can save some....
What a winter.
Oh Charleen, if you lost alot of brugs, you know we will all help you replenish them.
I Lost Desiree, and I don't know why.. this is the third one I have lost. I am going to give up on that one. I also lost Brendas Beauty. It just didn't "take" NOL and NN are barely hanging in there. *sigh* That is okay, I have about 60 others that are not duplicates I can watch. I am keeping Culebra going for Ken. I was about to ship that one off.. It gets going, then I water it, it shrivels up and loses its leaves. I can't handle mr prissy. Ken, You are more than welcome to "baby" this one. UGH
Good morning, it looks like evryone is getting snow, last year our biggest snow was in February, we got about an inch yesterday, I am really glad it didn't stick too the road
Charlene, just let me know, what you lost, I will help you out
Retta, the spring will come fast, February is a short month, I am also looking forward too you having Brugs it's exciting
Debra, Culebra just dried up on me, also it was a very slow grower, I have given up on that one, First Belle has gotten
a lot of leaves on it, Thanks too my new windows, I only have 7 more windows too go, DH said it doesn't make sense
too do the attic because it's an unheated space, but if heat go up, you lose it with lousy windows, anyway I am paying for
them, so I am getting those do
Elizabeth
It is going to be a tough weak here. Texans CAN NOT DRIVE IN THE SNOW. We have no plows and everyone thinks they can still drive 70. I do live in the sticks, so not that many nut to deal with. They say it will hit tonight and not get out of the 30S until next Friday. I must bring in enough wood to keep us going, then wrap bags of leaves around the hoophouse, put extra grain for the peacocks, fill all wild bird feeders, put fresh leaves under the shed for the big dogs to bed in, etc,etc....
Brugs are doing great so should have plenty to go around. I wished I had a camera ( lost mine ) , I have been having around ten in bloom at any given time for a couple of months. Got to go start bringing in wood, goodbye.
MEM
I can understand Elizabeth, Warm air goes out those windows too. Weathermen driving folks to the grocery stores, I bet the shelves are empty. Hubby has to work this AM but we got to go get hay for Longears , don't want to hear them hollaring...
Thank you Elizabeth, I'm hoping some will come back from roots.

Charlene, Hugs too the longears, I know they just love you, you take such good care of them
Retta, a hoop house, can be made out of pvc & 2X6 at the bottom, it's like a GH, but much less expensive

Hello all. Well, the first snow of the season is falling. Calling for 1" but could go to 3". Hope we don't get any more of that. Am going in at 8 a.m. for an injection in my lower back. I've been off work in agony since Christmas. Woke up that day with agonizing pain from my back around to my groin. Couldn't even set on the pot long enough to pee without it start cramping up. Was TERRIBLE. Tried to go to work the Monday after Christmas.... used my Mom's old cane to walk and could barely set at my desk. Lasted about 45 minutes and I was off to the Dr. My pain management Dr. was out of town. Only comfort I could get way lying down or in my recliner with my feed up. Have made 2 ER trips since then for pain shots and in to the Pain Mgmt Dr. tomorrow. Back to work on Wednesday. I'm sure my work is piled higher and deeper on my desk!!! Supervisor not very understanding.
crit i know how it feels to have a bad back,i go every year to pain management.can go 3 times a yr.but rather not.
i just take a pain pill to ease it.take care of ur back.i injured mine from lifting 200 lb humans.
now its arthrities.
Ken, I sure hope you guys do not get that snow. I saw Rita had snow in red oaks, tx. It is snowing here, calling for 5 below tomorrow night. That is a gorgeous bloom!
Retta and Crit, I am sorry you are both having pain problems with your backs and arthur, I have been trying very hard to keep mine from hurting by not lifting anything. Retta, the colonscope should be okay. I was just more embarrassed than anything to have my bottom in a good looking doctors face.. ugh. anyway, I will say prayers for you all.
I told my dr no surgery or shots until my bills from all the mri, xrays and other stuffs are paid. until then, rubbing ointment, careful bending, and aleve is all I am doing. He wants me to take pain pills, but I can't work at the car lot on those things.
Elizabeth, your windows are great!! And your plants look good too! I just gotta get my Joe talked into new windows. I can feel the cold air in all them, behind the blinds.
Charleen, I know what you mean about the stores. went with dh to wally world today, and it was crazy.
Retta & Crit, I will also say a Prayer for you, Crit it sounds like you have a bad disc, I went through all the pain management
back in 1991, it's no fun, take care of yourself
Debra, goggle Window World, they let you do 2 at a time, one company came out they wanted us too finance $18,000
for all the windows, that was too much, so when WW started advertizing $189.00 per window & you could do 2 at a time
that I could handle, we have 18 window's including the Attic, so now we're down too 6 windows, I will be so glad when that's
done, the next thing is new Carpet, if you buy it at Home Depot, they install it for $37.00
Charlene, according too the weather report, you are suppose too be hit with snow, I hope it doesn't do what they said it will
Ken, I hope it doesn't hit you, they said Texas also, Crazy weather is slamming the south
Elizabeth
well... the weather is amazing ths year... now there's two lows... one on TX and AR... it will combne with the one dropping snow and ice over GA and SC now.. to both hit us on Tuesday and Wednesday...
there's lots of pain.. I guess more as we age... [ for those that are gettng older ] and not a mention of a trip to the accupuncturist by anyone... go find one.. it's amazing... it was just about a relgeous experience for me... akin to divine healing..
I went in there unable to move much... where it took 20 minutes of real hard work... and alot of pain to get from layng on the floor.. to standing upright next to the couch.. and working all that time trying to do so... I'd have signed up for any procedure... and if I had thought it was gong to be that way the rest of my life... I'd have run headlong out the window... then I went after a few days of this to an accupuncturist a plumber I knew who was going through accupuncturst trainning referred me to... I left there without pain.. and two days later I was out playing golf.. it's like hitting the old red reset button on back of the applances... t eraces pain memory.. and promotes relaxiation.. and an overwhelming feeling of well being..
give it a try... see if it helps... especially for quicly onsetting injury.. or sudden pain from unnown causes.. I know they are difficult to find .. like in MS they are illegal except for dr.'s to administer the relief.. that surely cuts down their availability..
welll sorry for the tirade.. but like I sad it was next to a religeous experence... and many have heard me on this pulpit before...
thank you gorden, will keep that in mind,as i'm tired of living with this.but right now i can stand it.
retta

Good Morning everyone
Gordon, that's a great idea, but there's none of them around, I would have too go to Cincinatti, that's 34 miles away
Retta, I hope you get rid of your pain soon, the snow is really coming down this morning, the school cancelled so my GD
gets too stay home, she's loving it
Sue, Please post some Photo's, all of us love photo's of Blooming Brugs, Those of us with low temps & snow, keep our
Brugs, through the winter, in Basements, or in the house, Gordon, has built a Brug house for his
Charlene, I know Ga. is getting slammed, I talked too my DD, Monday, she's sending me photo's via email too show me
how much snow they got, she lives in Ga. she thought it was great
Ken, how are you doing? did the bad weather hit Texas
Elizabeth
It is getting up to 34 today and I hope it melts the snow. It is getting down to around 17 tonight and tomorrow night. We heat with a wood burning stove which is a pain but at no cost to us. Hoophouse is holding it's own for now, tonight will be the test. At least the sun is shinning today, that will help it heat up some before the drop.
33 here today and it is supposed to snow this evening.
If we all think about spring really, really hard.....
I am sick of snow, ice and below freezing temps.. can I move somewhere it doesn't get that way for a few weeks, Please? Sue, you need a maid or somethin?
