Oh how cute the little nativity scene.Where ever did you find one so small? And the stars for the trees.

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG you were creative LindaKay, and yes, where would you have found such a mini nativity scene...

Just love waking up to all the pretties..

Victoria Harbour, ON

I know what the others are doing...they are waiting patiently, taking in all the ideas and then will make theirs..watch and see..lol

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

That is really special, LK. Nice job.

I'm so far behind ... now workmen in the house for a week or more. But one of these days when I can focus for more than 15 minutes, I will be on a blitz with mine.

Glenview, IL

Lind Kay, How Pretty!!
Oh my goodness, the little Nativity is precious! Looks like porcelin?? I am curious where to find a tiny nativity as well.
Did you make the little santa hats, they are really cute.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Very nice LK ^_^

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, your going to be so proud of me!

Finally got everything coated with paint....and am starting the faces and embellishments! They "should" be together tomorrow! I ended up mixing to shades of green, that when painted on, gave more depth...and I like it! Will see what they look like dry and decorated.

Glenview, IL

Yay Debbie!!
I am excited to see your work of art...

I am working on a mini sleigh from the first workshop, only used snow couple!
Just waiting for it to dry so I can put the sleds on.

They turned out wonderful and the glitter makes all sparkle . To cute

Victoria Harbour, ON

I can see I'm not the only one who loves the sparkles..lol

Adorable, love the faces!

Too cute for words..

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

thank you ,my crafting supplies are nonexistant ,except for glitter !!! got that last year ,before walmart pulled the whole sewing and most of the craft dept. out. We have nowhere to buy any sewing or much crafting supplies anymore, its sad our little town had lots of everything not anymore....

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

AHH yes I do love Glitter...LOL I love sparkles of any sort. I need something to decorate the trees.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here they call me the 'glitter queen' as everything must have glitter..just did all those Christmas greenery arrangements and had to add glitter as well..not too much because it takes on the color of the piece but it sure does look festive..most of the year I take something out and there is a speck or two of glitter..lol

Do miss the craft dept. at Walmart as well..especially when you live away from major cities

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the comments everyone! I got the stars and small Nativity at Michaels up in San Angelo! Stars were like $1.99, and the nativity was $1.99.

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

i just need to go shopping without the DH in tow...thats hard to do..

Yes walmart really messed up..

I spray sparkles on greenery too, love sugared things too... = }

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Terrific job, Tam. I knew it would be great coming from you. You have the "crafter's gene". LOL.

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

Has anyone done anything with their primitive snowman? I need inspiration. Has anyone every done a pickling paint effect?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I started mine, I painted the whole thing brown, then painted over that white, did a part in the center green, with "chalkboard'' paint. sanded edges, so the brown comes through, I will take a photo tomorrow and show you what I am doing..going to be a "mini message board...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Looking forward to seeing it..LindaKay did put a photo of the original to give you some ideas as well.. My goodness, wouldn't have thought about the chalkboard and I who has done her kitchen inside cabinet door and blackboards; can't wait, just got to see your project..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's a good idea but I don't have a place to put a chalkboard :( I painted mine brown, then a white head and red body. Not sure where to go from here. Maybe big white buttons and a black belt around the middle, if I can draw it that is. Not sure.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sounds like it will be adorable Crissy, know you have no place for chalboard girl, you left the one I gave you here...

Lyndonville, NY

OK, I need honesty...PLEASE be honest.

What do you think? Not sure I am loving it.
I have a button collection and went thru and picked out some
colorful ones, and added a little "bling" to some plain ones. I have only done this one "sample" so far and it is easy fix to undo.

Well, I like it! I luv old buttons myself. :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Love it as well..now I know you are creative..only thing I might have added was to tie a bit of embroidery floss in the holes leaving it about 1/2 inch hanging but fun piece as it is, now you really have me anxious to see the finished project

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I did have thread in it...and it didn't look right. I need some tiny gingham ribbons I think. That might work better!

Victoria Harbour, ON

sometimes at the dollar store they have pkgs. of mini red ribbons..they indeed would work..how's the weather, storm brewing again, now tell me, how come the storms are early morning for travelling in and late afternoon when we're travelling home. Just know Debbie you are blowing it my way! Transferring telephones to my house tonight just incase. Know when I'm prepared it never storms..lol

Lexington Park, MD

I am loving the buttons what a great idea.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Well I can not get picks to download????? so I got to wait for hubby to help???!!!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, no snow falling here right now. Just blowing what dropped before noon.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

here's my snow people

Thumbnail by barefootT
(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

and here is the "bonus'' project so far......I am thinking it needs ''arms''
what do you think???

Thumbnail by barefootT
Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

Love the glitter enhanced buttons for ornaments. Keep them and do the rest to match.

Nice job, Thunder, beautiful lashes on mama. Thanks for showing the chalk board snowman, I think he needs arms too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ahhh Thunder love your snowpeople and the bonus piece, got to tell you it will be adorable when completed..wire??? drats, some asked what the wire was for, just noticed..snowlady, meant to attach the legs..

You can see that this was a last minute cut so you'd have an extra, didn't think the entire thing out but am sure once done they'll be cute as a bug...

Victoria Harbour, ON

I think Mittsy once you put a scarf with ends glues a bit to the side and maybe a piece of greenery just above the slate area that is wider than the piece you might not need it..will have to go check on the original posted further up in the thread..

You are up early???

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Mittsy, did you have a nice birthday yesterday?

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

Yes, I did. DH went fishing with his brother and I went for a haircut and perm, then met with a quilter friend, Dottie and finished quilting a baby quilt, have the binding all ready to sew on today. TCame home, took a quick look at the mail, wonderful surprise box from FLStu and my sister Mari, then DH took me to Texas Roadhouse for a steak dinner. I have carrot cake in the freezer to celebrate when we do the annual Mutual birthday Liver 'n onions dinner. This week was so busy we had to postpone the Liver dinner until next week. Then I received phone calls from my daughter and eldest son. A wonderful Birthday.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wonderful day, now back to reality right? You getting any of this snow we're getting?
