I painted mine all brown...let that dry..covered with white...as I am making it a "snowperson" ^_^ will sand edges, for that "aged" look.
4th Annual Daves Garden Christmas Craft Workshop!! pt.3
I'll have to look at it tomorrow, everybody and their brother must be online tonight for Cyber Monday.
Yes, my 'puter was sooo slow yesterday. I had forgotten about Cyber Monday.
It's not a problem at work, but that satellite internet slows way down, like dial up but not near as slow as dial up!
It's about as slow as I am. Well, I'm actually not having too many problems right now and I am on dial-up.
I've changed my mind three times about my colors for this project and now am back to the original choices which I have on hand anyway. Go figure. Once I kick into high gear I'll get 'er done though, and fairly quickly. In between are other things in the way like work on the house, etc.
Always the way, have something in mind, go searching for alternatives and come right back to plan A..lol..
I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do yet...
Your snow people are too cute. Where did you find an angel so tiny??????? Oh and the feather in the top hat.
Judy those are so cute! Please tell us where you found the angel and tiny bird?
I know the tiny feather came from your bird!!!
Thanks Laura, This was a fun little project.
The angel came from Michaels. in the Mini decorations, same for cardinal...The mini lights I can't find again!
awe and the tiny feather is from My bird Skittles. I save the feather from her molting...eventually I will have enough to make my kids a mini Dream Catcher with them.
Thank you Linda Kay,
cross posted with! Cardinal were 4 in a package and 2 Angels on a card.
Well Judy I sure am impressed, look at you girl, creative as can be. Really is adorable, no wonder the kids want you to keep it and display at your house..I have set of mini lights same as yours, think I got them at Michael's as well, no bird to pluck feathers though..if we see Skittles naked, we'll know what happened..
Calling it a night-gab tomorrow
Fantastic Judy!!!! Love the top hat !!!! and the little bell on the other one!!!
I have a bracelet, and anklet with bells on them that I wear a lot this time of year...and a pin that says "jingle bells" and has little bells hanging from it. "every time a bell rings...an angel gets its wings " ^_^
crissy, I have your hats ready to go into the mail, don't have any envelopes, except for the bigs ones I use for block swaps...and I forgot to get some today :( sorry, they will definitely go out tomorrow!!!
wal mart had lights like that last year, don't know if they have them again this year???
That is cute!!! What a nice job!
My granddaughter and I worked on her centerpiece with little four year old sisters "help". It was decided that we needed to add another snowperson, taller than the snowlady but shorter than the snowman. No problem, I have a friend with wood scraps in his garage, and he just arrived from Canada. The "little" one could be the baby sister". We had the faces painted and the family mounted, found good branches for arms and decorated them with sparkly holographic snow paint. I'll look for baby socks to make hats from. We'll finish off when we visit them on the 11th of December.
We spent Thanksgiving week in Pigeon Forge TN, in a rented cabin. It was wonderful having all the grandchildren together. Grampa took everyone to the Titantic Museum. It was very interesting. I took my son and his family to see the new Harry Potter movie, while daughter and granddaughters went "shopping" and Grampa and Uncle Ray watched TV.
We had marathon games of Rummikub and Pictionary Man. and ate, and ate, and ate. The food was wonderful. Sure wish we had more leftovers but the turkey sandwiches for the road home were delicious!
Judy Way Cute!!! Where did you get that top hat, I've been looking for one EVERYWHERE and gave up.
That's ok Thunder, I'm just so glad you made them! Thank you so much!
OH MITTSY I LOVE PIGEON FORGE!!!!! I've only been there once, when I was 9 and I soooo want to go again!
Mittsy, looking forward to seeing the works of art..been to Pigeon Forge as well, love the area..always said if I were to ever move to USA it would have to be Tennessee..
Tennessee is my favorite state, but I would have to live near Knoxville because of the mountains and amount of tornados they get. LOL Those Darn Tornados!
lol, always one step ahead of those tornadoes Crissy..I like it because they don't have harsh winters yet they do have winters and changes in the seasons.
You all caught up at work Crissy?
Hats are in the mail crissy!!!
Aren't you a sweetheart Thunder..
OMG Thunder! You are Awesome, and a Sweetheart!!
I am! Well, I'm never technically 'caught up,' there's always things to do, I'm going to continue on putting my training binder into the computer, I seriously need to finish that. We want to send the End of Year notification today so it's going to get extremely busy extremely fast, probably starting tomorrow if that goes out today.
Mittsy, looking forward to seeing the works of art..been to Pigeon Forge as well, love the area..always said if I were to ever move to USA it would have to be Tennessee..
Well, come on down. I'd love to have you as a neighbor!!! ^_^
Carole, might not get to move but usually get to visit parts of Tennessee, ask Debbie/Crissy, we did Memphis and Nashville last year!
Well, if you get to Nashville again, you are only about 50 miles from me. Give me a holler and I'll meet up with you all somewhere. Probably at a Cracker Barrel. LOL. ^_^
Most likely Carole that's where you would find me..lol..
LOL!
Hi Thank you everyone!!
Crissy, I made the top hat...used light weight plastic and hot glue!
Thunder, Just love bells too.. so funny as I was sewing the bells, thinking the same!
Every time a bell rings an Angel get their wings!
Did you make your bell anklet?
Mittsy, Your Thanksgiving celebration sounded wonderful, I am so glad you spent time with everyone.
Yep, can't wait to see more snow scenes...
Betty, what is the wire, and extra cut outs for please?
Originally LindaKay the wires were going to be to make the arms, but after packaging and trying it decided nope, branches would do fine..cut outs'??? please describe, had started to cut a few starts for the angel/snowman, whatever you want to call it then ran out of wood for the extra's and time was running out for shipping, could it be I put some in a package or two?? not the twigs for legs for the extra piece I sent??
My darling son just brought in some twigs for me, for my snowman arms!!. I still need to do faces, and add the ''snow''.
weather changed here, cold...so I have no voice!! happens every time the weather changes :( good thing I have the day off, hopefully I will at least have a ''squeak'' of voice tomorrow... Hubby lit the fire place , so it is warm and cozy in the living room! need to do some sewing, but I may just have to stay and play on computer a little longer, and enjoy the warm fire....
Does sound cozy Thunder, anxious to see your piece! OMG, hope you have pad andpencil so you can communicate! Enjoy your sewing..
I'll do my running around tonight, only 5 minutes to go before leaving the office, that what maybe I can stay inside and play all weekend as well..got 2 rag quilts to finish..ragging is done so shouldn't be a problem getting them done..did learn a lesson, no washer, repairman coming..this TIME, laudromat to wash, too heavy for regular machine..lol
Betty, they are little slice of wood, and one looks like a carrot nose maybe?
Betty so the rag quilt cannot be washed in a regular washer? Or is it just the big one?
I have done a few twin size rag quilts, and used my large capacity, heavy duty home machine.....no problem.. butttttt have heard that more than a few people have had problems with their machine when trying to wash a large rag quilt....all the "strings" that come off can clog up the drain hose of the washer and cause over flows....and lots of "lint" in the dryer.....you definitely have to clean the dryer a LOT !!!
Yikes, I have a front loader washer, best thing I have ever bought.
Well I washed about 6 of them that I did for Christmas and no problem, but the large one was extra big, Greg's 6'3" so made it wider/longer so he'd be comfy under it, you know us moms, it was just pure stupidity on my part..
This weekend I'll be working on the next 2 and I got to tell you my first thought will be laundromat...lol..
Was wonderful this morning getting up and not having to play an hour to connect to the internet provider..glad I won't have to purchase a new one..with extra memory put in and a complete clean up I'm back to chatting without getting frustrated trying to connect..
LindaKay, yes, most likely the nose for the snowlady...
