Thanks for the new thread, Betty. Happy Thanksgiving!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!
We got the sanding done and two coats of paint on our project. Sean attention span is at its limit for today. He has karate this afternoon so we will finish up on Sunday. He is having fun with this.. I'll post pictures in a while. Have to become a taxi for now........

Pacifica, CA

Happy thanksgiving all

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Turkey Day!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!

Lexington Park, MD

Kids base coated all peices white.Yes even the extra snowman that was to be stained. They had a blast. Maybe tomorrow will start colors.

Victoria Harbour, ON

It will be special pieces I'm sure Laura..they'll see it displayed at Christmas and Christmas's that follow and will remember the time you took to sit with them and do christmas crafts..making memories, that's what it's all about!

Can smell that turkey!!!

Lexington Park, MD

I have an extra seat.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wish I was closer I'd fill it!!

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

It feels so good sitting by the fire and catching up with you all. We have plenty of delicious leftovers, Betty. Being a tad tired, though, you might have to heat them yourself :)

Tomorrow's the day hubby and I traditionally start decorating outside for Christmas, although if it's as cold and windy and rainy as the weather gurus are predicting, I'll be inside working on my snow people village while he's in his deer stand. My next step, I think, is applying snow and hope it's the only kind we see flying for at least a few more weeks.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

crissy...I need your address!!! ^_^ I made hats for your snow people...I liked the red one sew much I decided to do one for my snow people too!! hope you don't mind??!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, thanks for sharing the turkey, you do know it's my favorite and I wasn't too tired to put it in microwave..yum it was delicious..

Getting ready for work, wrapped a few more gifts, tell you what, keep this up and I'll barely see the tree..lol..not looking forward to taking the roads today, say a big storm coming in for my region by early aft.,

Have to pick up 3 other girls this evening for a jewelery party at a friends, if it's too bad will have to cancel out, hope not, needed a few pieces for gifts.

Sounds as though some of you are underway, remember, I'm only as far as your keyboard all day long and in the evening I do check in! See though you are all very creative and can do your own thing, so looking forward to seeing your piece of art!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Drive careful Betty!

Glenview, IL

OMG, I lost you!!

LOL, but I've found the new thread...
Awe can't wait to see the little hats!

Going to work on mine today. House is all cleaned up so today i am free to do my snowman scene, woohooo...
just got to "shoo" DH along so I can get busy!

Be careful on the road Betty!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here safely, quick freeze alert was on, left 1/2 hr. earlier than usual and arrived 5 minutes late, of course that's the day boss calls exactly at 9:00a.m. lol

Alert arrow keeps flashing on my computer telling me that storm is brewing in my region, hope boss decides to send us home earlier than 3:00 pm..keep your fingers crossed!

Wouldn't ask for prayers for such a silly thing, keep them for the needy..lol

Lexington Park, MD

Oh hats being made ....................I am still in the painting mode.
Fingers crossed so you get out early Betty.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi Everyone!! I went to my mom's for Thanksgiving and just got back last night at 6pm. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!!

I'm glad you went Crissy. The older I get the more I realize how special these holidays were to my own Mom. I thank God that she Never spent a holiday alone. She lived for 25 years after my Dad passed and my brothers and I would have moved heaven and earth to be with her. I was lucky though in that she was my best friend as well as my Mom. I'm truly grateful for all my memories of her.....

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sean finished his project this afternoon. Grammy did help with the faces.......

Ahh way to go Sean, Barb you can see in the twinkle of his eyes that he enjoyed this project as much as the other ones he's done..there is nothing on this entire earth that is as gratifying than spending time with the grandchildren, teaching them and letting them know what Christmas is all about..

It's too adorable and I love the way he two toned the trees..

Now will he give this one as a gift???

Tell him he gets an A+ from the teacher...
Big hand clap..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It's going to be a display piece like last year's turned out to be because the whole family comes to his house for Christmas.. He's so proud of it!!!!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Precious!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks Carole - I'm really proud of him...

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

I can see why. :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wonderful, if they keep the pieces for the house I'm sure as each year's project comes out he'll remember that particular day he spent with grandma..

He did the 'do you see what I see' did he not?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

He did great Gramma Barb!! where is yours???

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Good job Sean!!!

Lexington Park, MD

Good job Sean. He looks so proud . I bet he will tell everyone that Grandma help me do this and he will be smiling from ear to ear.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Mine is almost done - just need arms and snow. We either used or broke all the twigs we had brought in on Sean's snowmen. I want the new twigs to dry out well before I use them Don't want wet wood in the scene!!! Here's a shot of us painting our bases......
Edited to add - Don't mind the screwy date stamp!!!!!

Betty, I have my scene almost done, but where are the directions for the other piece included please? Did I miss it some where?

Victoria Harbour, ON

LOL even matching working aprons, you are too precious Barb!

Bet you were both interactive during the process, that's when we learn the most about them isn't it..

Glenview, IL

Good morning!!

OMG, Barb and Sean, How wonderful!!
He should be proud...
I just love the photo of you and he working together, very precious.
Do you work scrapbooks, that would be a great page.

OK, Mine is finished minus the twigs, I have 'em, just waiting for everything to dry!
I have to finish up one other thing, then i will start the Bonus project!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Judy, do you have the instructions for the bonus project?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I need ideas for the bonus project, I can probably do it without instructions but I'm not one of those who can think of this stuff and make it happen, I gotta copy someone elses idea and change it to make it my own LOL

Glenview, IL

No directions, just the copy with the sayings...
But I thought Betty said to stain it, sand to make look antique, paint it and add a saying and sticks for the legs...Which is what the wire is for, I think...LOL, I was just going to "copy" photo in first thread!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Book is at home for the 'bonus' project, will bring it in and post some instructions for you all tomorrow, how's that, but if you are working on it now and want some instructions I'll go look at the photo, fake it and post it here..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

You listen well Judy...here's the photo

If you can I would stain the entire piece or paint it in brown and let dry completely. Then I would paint to dress blue, face 'flesh', because I did not sent you a star you could trave a star onto the dress and paint, if you add a bit of red to the brown it will take on a rusted copper look..
