Hello all. I just wanted to drop in for a minute. The Hubbs said there was a med flat rate box delivered to me, but he didn't say who it was from. I bet it's my box from Faye. I'll have him open it later this evening after he gets the kids in bed. Hopefully the cuttings aren't ruined.
I'm being transferred from one hospital to another today. My lung isn't healing so they want me to see a thoracic surgeon. I was a good patient, but I'm getting really frustrated. Wish I could rip this chest tube out and go home. I miss my kids.
She's about to...55
Oh Maggie, sorry it is not healing, but please keep us posted?
Sending you lots of prayers, and some very gentle (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))
Oh, Maggie I am sure you are a good patient, I can't imagine how frustrated you are. Gotta let them take good care of you tho. I bet those kiddies miss you as much as you do them. Found two pennies in the parking lot I will send the good luck to you!
Prayers still going up for you dear Maggie.
Thanks guys for the links. I found the gardensandcrafts link in my favorites after I posted that.
Maggie did they ever say what caused this in the first place?? I feel so bad for you. Sending positive vibes..
Fruity I have a couple amaryllis that are thinking about blooming. Those bulbs from the co-op were raring to go. The ones I have from previous years that I saved aren't doing diddly squat. if they don't come back I'll let them pick which compost pile they want to live in. :0)
Been sewing, yes sewing all morning. I had forgotten what a hazardous job that was. Keep missing my pincushion and sticking the pins in my forearm. There is probably a law somewhere about blondes and sewing machines.
Neener LOL Reminds me of the Time I was bed bound & My Brother brought over a shirt that he needed to have a couple buttons replace easy enough to do so I was sowing away while he was cleaning my driveway
from snow he came in & I was just about done when It felt Like I Had wet my bed & jim ask where the needle was & I said right here besides me Well DUHH I Was poking it into my Blanket but I was laying in a WATERBED , My excuse was I was not in my right might at the time :) he still reminds me of it .
Maggie: you can bet your family is missing you also but right now you trully need this work up on you
to be able to enjoy your family when you do get home .
have they said what caused this ? let us know when you get transfered & when your feeling up to it .
susie
Trying to think of a joke that isn't too long to type and is appropriate (I get a lot of those 'not too sure about' on my e-mail. lol) to give Maggie a smile. The rest of you can smile too if ya wanna. :-))
I think we all need to post a joke for Maggie to cheer her up!
OK, here's one. The season is fitting. LOL
***********************************
A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird's' mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to 'clean up' the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more rude. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.
As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very softly, "May I ask what the turkey did?"
Sorry for the caps, a little Hospital humor. Hope you are smiling Maggie.....
A WOMAN, CALLING A LOCAL HOSPITAL,
SAID, "HELLO, I'D LIKE TO TALK TO THE PERSON WHO GIVES THE INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR PATIENTS.
I'D LIKE TO FIND OUT IF THE PATIENT IS GETTING BETTER, DOING AS EXPECTED OR IS GETTING WORSE."
THE VOICE ON THE OTHER END OF THE LINE SAID,
"WHAT IS THE PATIENTS NAME AND ROOM NUMBER?"
SHE SAID, "SARA FINKLE, IN ROOM 302."
"I WILL CONNECT YOU WITH THE NURSING STATION."
"3-A NURSING STATION. HOW CAN I HELP YOU?"
"I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE CONDITION OF SARA FINKLE IN ROOM 302."
"JUST A MOMENT. LET ME LOOK AT HER RECORDS.
OH YES, MRS. FINKLE IS DOING VERY WELL. IN FACT SHE'S HAD TWO FULL MEALS,
HER BLOOD PRESSURE IS FINE
AND HER BLOOD WORK JUST CAME BACK AS NORMAL. SHE'S GOING TO BE TAKEN OFF THE HEART MONITOR IN A COUPLE OF HOURS AND IF SHE CONTINUES THIS IMPROVEMENT. DR. COHEN IS GOING TO SEND HER HOME TUESDAY AT TWELVE O' CLOCK."
THE WOMAN SAID," THANK GOD!
THAT'S WONDERFUL"
OH! THAT'S FANTASTIC.
THAT'S WONDERFUL NEWS! "
THE NURSE SAID," FROM YOUR ENTHUSIASM, I TAKE IT YOU MUST BE A CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER OR A VERY CLOSE FRIEND!"
"NOT EXACTLY, I AM SARAH FINKEL IN ROOM 302!
AND NOBODY HERE TELLS ME ANYTHING!"
LOL
Hello to all and to Maggie, yes, I did send you Angels in a med. flat rate box. Have someone put them in water and I think they will be ok. If not, I will gladly replace everyone of them for you. I am praying that the Doctors will soon find exactly what it takes to give you a full recovery. Know you are loved by so many.
Faye
Oh Maggie, I am so praying for you, we all are, I can't imagine why your lung would collasp, please be "patient" and let them find out what is going on. Your family loves you and we love you here in this family too. I wish I could come there and help your family.

Maggie posted on the Christmas thread and she is in severe pain and had another surgery, you might want to pop over and read.
Our temps are all over the place and early in the season I use an electric heater to heat the garden room and one day it is 40 in there (heater is too low) and the next day 80..........poor flowers.
Debra, I am having great success with some of the starts and not so much with others :(
The start of your Grandpa coleus is doing good, brugs are doing good, lots are but too hard for me to remember off the top of my pea brain. I love tending to them.
Checking in late today, ladies. I'm pooped after a busy day but refuse to let the day pass without wishing you, Carole, a very special Happy Birthday! Tell us all about it.
Happy birthday Carole! Hope you had a great day!
She snuck it in the backdoor, LK, just in case you're wondering why it didn't show up on the B-day Forum.
Sneaky for sure!

Thanks, LK and Susie. No, we aren't going up for the funeral. This was his fave cousin and they had already talked about it. I am so glad of that!
Cold here ... but NOT 22 like they said it would be.
Have a good day, all.
Hello everyone! I'm done with the surgery. Still staring down at daisies. I'll give you an update later...when I'm in a better mood. Right now I feel like choking people. Too bad I can't get out of this bed for another day or two.
I love you all!
~Maggie
Good sign that you want to choke people. So glad that's over!!!
That a girl MAGGIE As Long as you can get mad your on the MEND :))
Thank you all so much for listening to me complain so many times. You mean the world to me. The warm thoughts and prayers helped me get this far. Thank you again!! (((((hugs)))))
Maggie, you are now on the road to recovery, and I pray it is a short road! So glad to hear Keith was able to be with you, and your Sisiter is helping with the kids!
You mean the World to us too, Maggie. We're cheering for the day you're well enough to go home. I can't imagine how much you're missing your kids after being cooped up, stuck how many times, and probably haven't had much sleep in the last week. Hospitals are the worst place to try to rest with constant 24/7 interruptions. Hang in there!
If you haven't already found your way to our Houseplants & Tropicals Swap set for next Spring, and you'd like to give it a try, come on over. And don't let not having many or any houseplants slow you down. We're a generous bunch of folks and you're bound to land free plants, or pretty darn close to it:

Hang in there Maggie. If need someone to come down and help you choke medical personnel, I'm your girl. :0)
