Prayers going up for those having health issues, and any other kind of issues that may be going on.

We had 13 here yesterday. Wonderful family time (DH's side), food, football, visiting, food, did I mention food? Tons of it, too much to list. Everyone have a good and safe Black Friday. I will be spending it at home as we get Thursday and Friday off from work for our holiday. I have plants to pot up! May go to the nursery for more potting mix, but they should be nice and quiet. :-)

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

28 here last night with our first snow on the ground. Yesterday it was 70. :(

Don't know if you saw the post up the thread, Debra, but thanks again for all the seeds!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susie, don't give them any plant food yet, just keep them in water. it is natural for them to start to wilt a little bit. You can give them a frsh cut at the bottom, sometimes that helps.
Give them time, they will sprout soon! Some just take longer than other!

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Thanks LK Now that my heart has stopped Pounding My Brugs just got a clipping & Fresh water so i hope i can save them there is one that has A Root line sprouting but the others would not Root .

What a scare I Had some turkey dripping in the oven & Wanted to clean the oven so it is a self clean oven right
I turned it on came in put on my hat coat & went out to feed & water my critters their water was frozen so I came in for water & went out to the Kitchen to find a FIRE IN THE OVEN . Flames rolling in the oven .

Daddy cannot see or smell & He was at the table , margaret was in the bathroom so she didnot NOTICE Till I Yelled to her to come get dad out . She was tring to get his shoes on while i called 911 but by time they answered
the flames in the oven went out I don't knw if my stove is going to be any good now or not .
waiting for it to cool down before i open the door. the house filled with black smoke I have
windows open fans on , & all of us are in coats . & f all times the fire alarm did not go off . when ever I turned on the stove to cook anything the dang thing went off & Now when there was a real fire it didn't go off.

Now I guess I Need to go shop for a new Stove > Don't think i will buy another self cleaning oven .
well you all have a great day back later

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

My goodness, Susie, glad everyone is okay!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Susie, that had to be so scary! Glad your OK!

As far a brugs go, there are some, no matter what we do, they will not root, they will just get mushy, and slime away! But if you keep a fresh cut on them, most of them will root in a week or two, sometimes a bit longer!

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

So glad you're all ok, Susie! That's scary!

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Heart beat back to normal Oven is cleaned once again but have not turned it on yet :( IT IS SNOWING HERE NOW & Now to relax till its time to put lunch on for daddy .
I'm just thankful that there is no damage to the KITCHEN . It was all just in the oven ,
have a great day & Thank you got the BRUG INFO .

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

What is Best .
My Mail man said I would need More then a Shovel to plant today when he saw Plants on the outside of the box :) hehe it is very very cold out there also . 28* today .

Wow! All the Thanksgiving goodies, goodness Susan, do you cook like that often? Boy it would have been a treat to be at your table. So glad you got the Angels. If they aren't rooted, just put in water. I change the water in mine at least every other day and they will root in just a few days. If they are already rooted, plant in small pot, keep watered but not soggy. If they have little white thingies on them, they are ready to be potted.
LOL, when I saw the cannas box my words were" oh my word" When I opened the box. I said it twice. Never have I seen so many of anything I didn't know what to do with. Think I have figured it out....I will plant them along the fence on the street side. That is going to be so pretty. Thank you so much Susan, like all the other plants I get from my DG friends, I will treasure them.
Susie, so glad you got your Angels too. I don't think it matters what you root them in as long as you change the water often.
To all who got cuttings from me...The markers are not in permanent ink. I have used it before thinking it was and now do not know the names of those plants.
Debra, if there are any other cuttings you don't have, I will be glad to send them to you.
Linda Kay, Kathy will certainly be in my prayers. Please keep us posted on her recovery.
Love and hugs

Cuttings anyone! My garage is looking like a greenhouse. Look close...see the buckets, they are full of cutting yet to be potted. If you could see pass the car, there are at least a dozen cuttings in pots on that wall.

Wow ... you are so organized. Looks good!

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Oh my goodness dear...... question is, do you have a place to put all those come spring? LOL

I am always open to cuttings. Love all the ones I am getting.

Hope everyone survived Black Friday. Went to the nursery and they were closed so ended up at Home Depot. No bargains, not even on the plants that were frosted. Did get 2 "Texas" Lilacs (anyone know what that is? LOL) and a snowball bush. Each one was under $4 in a 3 gallon pot.

Going to a Tulsa Oilers Hockey game tonight. I HOPE. Have the tickets, but DH went to lie down after he got home from work. We need to leave in an hour.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Fruity your dinner sounds delish!! Please come and cook for me soon. :0) Bet Mr. Miranda was a happy camper.

Faye you have the neatest, cleanest garage I've ever seen next to my Uncle. Now that man has a clean garage. I want those sun faces too. :0)

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Susie, just pot those cuttings up to the top is what I would do. Faye, what a wonderful area you have there!
Watching hubby Joe make a minestrone from food channel recipe right now.
Glad everyone has survived the Holiday.

Nita my garage hasn't always looked this way...just ask Susan. When she first saw it I was getting ready for a very large yard sale and the garage was a mess plus had lots of totes that had craft stuff in them. Still had the 2 cars in garage. Since then we have put cabinets against the walls and had the floors painted and I do my very best to keep it clean. As for the sun faces, they are one of my favorite things and I have them in the sun room, on each end of the house and several in the garage.
Crit....good question...Will plant as many in the ground as I can then will have to have a few in pots. Will also sell some in the spring when I have a yard sale. And...your box will leave here Tuesday. Will also be sending out the Datura seeds then.
Stay well and happy.

OMG where to start.....chatty chatty.

I love black Friday, we always have so much fun. Up at 3 am and hit Walmart at 4:30, it was already packed. Heard folks say they had been there since 11pm...rofl. Then went to a friends house and we left out for the mall, we laughed, shopped, ate breakfast, laughed shopped, ate lunch, left there after stuffing the trunk of the car and went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, (they carry everything, you can order there online also), shopped til 3:30, headed back to her house, then back to mine, unloaded, then back out the door to have dinner with friends, got home about 9:30! Had a great day and found some really good buys. This is the way I do it, one present for them, two presents for me...rofl. I did get a new coat, shoes, and purse.....rofl. I have a huge Christmas list, I know someday I probably won't be able to buy for everyone and will go back to making things for them again which I did like to do, but while I can I love to buy them presents. Most of my family are grownups now (20's and up) except for 2 little ones. The grownups are so much fun to splurge on they just don't buy for themselves.

Nita there isn't an area in my house that is neat as your garage! Amazing with all those brugs everywhere! OMG.

Fruity I agree with you NO more sickness, gosh it has been a hard holiday on alot of you this year.....so sad, my heart goes out to all of you.... We had a fireplace fire in our old house one time and flames were rolling out the fireplace and up the face. Luckily DH was there when it started and we had a fire ext. right there.... so Deejay I can identify with you heart going nonstop! Glad everything turned out ok, ruined stove not ok, but what could of happened makes that ok.

DH has alot of the cabinets stained and where the frig goes and been varnished and that can get moved back in place TODAY. For some unknown reason that is making me nuts.....LOL Going to have to clean and start putting up Christmas decorations and wrapping some things. I think this year I will take a pic of what it is so I won't forget what I got everyone by Christmas...LOL It usually takes me all day and most of the night to get all the decorations out....did I say I LOVE Christmas!

Fruity how is your hose working out? My watering chore in the solar room has already started, at least everyother day! That part I don't like at all. Got the heater on in the pond, have to laugh cause they say the fish go to the bottom to stay warm, not my fish they stay right under the heater....rofl.

OK, you all stay out of trouble, no more sickness, burning down buildings, or anything else bad......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness, you had a full day of shopping, eating and lots of fun!

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Even getting ready for a garage sale, Faye (or would that be two...lol) your bins were just as organized as your garage is. Man, what I wouldn't give to have that much clear clean space in ours.

happ, I thought you'll fallen in the Black hole...LOL! That sounds exactly like the kind of day my SIL and I used to spend together on Black Friday. We giggled our way through the day shopping, eating, resting, and shopping and eating some more til the day flew by! I miss those days and wish I had that kind of energy back and she lived closer. And your buying style is right up my alley....one for him, two for me, til I got home and realized it was 4 for him and none for me. I always blamed that part on leaving my list at home but always made up for it down the road. Don't even ask about that silly slinky hose. Fess up time. I love it's lime green color *and it doesn't leak* but the threads don't fit either faucet in the kitchen or the bathroom and forget about the wide-mouth tub. What was I thinking? You tried to warn me. So far it hasn't been a trudge toting either water or plants to the kitchen sink and the ones downstairs are easy...just have to remember to fill my watering can. Hubby would freak if I watered pots in the tub and left a smidgen of potting soil in it so I haven't tried that trick yet, although it would be easier to set the head on shower. He's been figuring what kind of an adapter I need to make my $10 -- 1/2 price hose work. Meanwhile, if I'm lucky, he says a brass fitting to make it work is going to cost at least $20. Oh well!

Friday's shopping online was great but am still holding out for cyber Monday for more gifts & hopefully finish up, other than a few stocking stuffers. How about the rest of you? What's the most-wanted on your wish list this year?

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

A Wii ....... been wanting one forever to exercise by. And just play. We have a 110" tv screen so it would be AWESOME!!!!!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Just came up from the basement garden. Here is how I water.. a big blue tub, filled with hot water from the faucet thingy down there that we never use. fill the jugs up and the water cans. No more trips up and down the stairs with ten gallon jugs. No shopping for me, I have been working. I ordered my sons kc chief jersey, my hubbys new 36 inch hdtv, my youngest daughters black lace umbrella, my middle daughter wanted a toaster, so I got her one. four gift cards. stocking stuffers. I am rollin right along.

All I want for christmas is some long handled lopers , a drill with attachments, ten HUGE nice pots, Ten Huge bags of potting soil, a lucky bamboo plant for my office. Thats is it. Kids won't get that stuff. I will get candy, perfume, a bathrobe. I am taking bets. any takers?

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Crit I agree with Susie. Save your money on the Wii. I got one several years ago and couldn't wait to get the Wii Fit. No way does any normal person have the time it takes to get a workout with that. If you are a retired little blue haired lady, maybe. It takes a good hour and a half to do a workout on the Wii fit. Too much time in navigation between exercises. I like the Yoga part of it, but I can do that on my own. A lot of it is geared towards balance which is good, but also not all that aerobic. Very time consuming. We bought severall games none of which we play. Bowling is the only thing that is a lot of fun on the Wii. Just my 2 cents..

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ditto.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Well, may have to rethink my wish list then. Since my back surgery I am not able to manuever the hills around our home, even on my bicycle. I thought the Wii Fit in my living room would give me the exercise I really want to do. Maybe I will haul my bicycle to the top of one of the hills, and whheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee down to the bottom. Then have hubby take me back up to get my car! LOL Guess I will just keep working on my exercise ball.

Susie ..... you have friends on here who love you, and for that, you are BLESSED! Hope you have a Merry Christmas despite no kids. I have kids, but I don't have kids, if you know what I mean. For ''whatever reason'', of which I am still not sure, my son and duaghter are mad at me. If I even ''knew'' why they were mad, we might be able to work it out, but they aren't talking to me. ~sigh~

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

CRit Ty It Is LIFE CYCLE , Our Folks ,Took Care to see we were all ok & OUTon our own & To Busy Raising us & Didn't have time to Go Visit their Parents & then we all Raise Our Families Then they start the GranKids & Don't have time for their Parents or grand parents . Its a cycle I Raised all my NIECES & NEPHEWS As they were my own But now They are to busy Raisen their Kids & Don't have time for Aunte sue but then they Don't have time for their own Parents either .
I READ Where My Sister Posted to her Daughters That she wishes they would visit more & I Said I'm Sure your FATHER FEELS The same of you , Maybe I Should not have but I Sit back & Watch it happening to them , as they do to our father . :)

well trying to get dinner ready then its off to go help a friend in town with her computor so you all have a great day

have a great day
susie

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I would say Hallelugh DJ if I knew how to spell it....rofl. About not visiting our parents. Most of the folks at my Moms apartment think I am an only child! I have 2 sisters.....!

I have been cyber shopping all day. I have really gotten alot done.

DH's son, wife, and the cutie DGD came over today and we had Thanksgiving pizza! DGD and I played all day long, we decorated the garland on the stair railing and it is loaded with ornaments...so sweet. I have found the perfect Christmas Present for her. I had a long strip of bubble wrap (she is 4) and found if she jumped and danced on it, it would pop in all these funny sounds. I am telling you she played with that off and on for 4 hours and just laughed! No need for expensive toys.... ;)

OMG I am soooo happy the place where the frig is built into the cabinets was completed by DH last night and we slide the frig out of the hallway and into it's spot.....don't know why but that frig in the hallway was making me crazy! I took everything out of it and scrubbed the inside all out and threw some things I have no idea how long have been there....we don't eat ketchup and mustard but buy it for one thing or another and then throw the majority of it out.

Fruity, hate to hear it about the hose, I am hauling buckets of water into the solar room and already hate it! and we just started. Garden room is staying cool enough that watering there hasn't been bad yet...but it is coming. I haven't had any time to play in either room yet. OK this isn't good my laptop clicker isn't working....hummmm Better get this sent before I lose all riveting post....hope to be back after figuring out what is going on.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Thanks for reminding me how blessed I am with my children, Susie. I just got back from driving miss college girl back to Emporia. I was thinking while I was driving how glad I was to be able to help her, I could have lost her in the accident a few years back.

My sis in law, Paula got a wii, we all played about three times. She got the excersize thing, she never uses it.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Debra glad to hear more input about the Wii. I thought it was just me. I'm so flighty I just figured it was my ADD kicking in. :)) Skiing is kind of fun. Since I never managed to get to the top of the bunny hill, I can imagine myself shooshing down the slope.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a good week-end!

GM friends. Hope you survived the holiday weekend!

Now, I need help (nooooooooooooo, not THAT kind of help! Well, maybe! LOL) I thought I had saved a thread that had the link to printable seed packets, that you could type your name, etc. on before printing them, but I can't seem to locate it now! I found seed packets that I could save and print, but then would have to hand write everything in. Does anyone know where I might find this link?
