We came from here...
She's about to...55
Ok deejay that was funny about not cooking the pets. I use to have two geese I swore some days I was going to cook them...rofl. DH wants chickens which would be fine except I know we would never cook them either and they would all end up with names and live to very ripe old age...rofl.
The dinners sound wonderful.......
I usually start decorating the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it takes me the whole weekend and more. I love decorating for the holidays. I like all the memories of the ornaments and things people have given me, snow globes, music boxes are my favorite and I play each one when I put them out. Usually one Saturday evening I put out an invitation to friends for a get together. That is sooo much fun, course the office likes it because I take the leftovers in....
I'm here...hopefully my computer follows. Don't like it when a thread just...gets lost.
Got it.
Thanks LK!!
Hello to everyone, and if I do not get back here tomorrow, I want to wish all you dear friends a Happy Thanksgiving.
To all I promised Angel boxes, they were mailed out Monday afternoon. Hope you really want them, lol those boxes are stuffed. The Yellow and purple Datura seeds will follow to Maggie and Susie. Does anyone else want seeds, or Angels?
Love and hugs
Faye
dahtzu, you could throw some datura seeds in my box too.
Maggie, Maggie, Maggie ............... a girl after my own heart!!!!!!
I got my box today! Thank you 10 times over. I'm a HUGE Scentsy fan, in fact I am just closing out a party I had a couple weeks ago. Love all the free stuff you can get. I have so many scents I want to try. I have the 'basket party' scents, and am going to go through them and write down all the ones I want. :-)) Actually, should write down the ones I DON'T like, the list would be shorter. lol
Thanks again!!!!!
Thank you, Faye! I have a swap box to send out Saturday or Monday. I'll send your postage at the same time, if that's ok with you??

You're welcome. I hope you're ok with the ones I picked. I read your likes/dislikes on the birthday club. Figured I'd send you some since I have a TON here. I sell it, but haven't sold much in the last 4-5 months because I don't know anyone in Georgia yet. I bought a bunch
during "bring back my bar" over the summer. Scentsy is my FAVORITE stuff! I hope your party went well!!! :)
I will remember you sell it. If I want something, I'll put it on an order of someone you have holding a party. I like that it can be done online too.
Of course, as soon as I got it I had to pour out what I had going (it was about to give out anyway) and put the new ones in. Banana bread makes me HUNGRY! lol Two of my favorites I have actually had so far are rainforest and french kiss. I just got introduced to it about 6 weeks ago! Love it!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
The scarecrow head and 'Give Thanks' rocks are from the first decorated rock swap. Maggie painted them. If I don't get back to this thread, you all have a wonderful day tomorrow. Today too, for that matter. ^_^
Oops, looks like I had already taken the scarecrow inside ahead of the rain storm when I snapped the pic. :-)
Those rocks are just too cute. Who did the kitty?
I get to sit back and eat this year, since I don't have a kitchen all I had to bring to the Thanksgiving dinner (my family) is pop....yeah... Then Sunday course with his family we are having pizza, heck darn maybe I don't want a kitchen. rofl. Course since DH hasn't started on it that might not be a problem either! ;)
Kitty was $1 at the Goodwill store. ;-)
Well folks it's time to laugh to keep from crying. It has been a fun day so far. I got most of my things together for tomorrow and was just needing to go to the butcher here and get the turkey I ordered. Then I need to make my rolls. Well I've been talking with my Mom back and forth all morning and my Dad is all stressed out about her having to drive them down here tomorrow since the weather might be iffy. OK. So on the way to the butcher I have this epiphany that we will just take everything up there and then they don't need to drive and it won't matter if dinner is later or whatever. Get back home and call my Mom to tell her we'll come to them. That's wonderful. Dad is happy, she sounds relieved and all is good.
So now I'm scurrying around making sure I have everything together that needs to go. I get the turkey in the deep fryer pot for a trial run with water to be sure that I will have enough oil when I get up there. Of course since I got such a small turkey it isn't displacing as much so therefore I need more. I'm short about 1/2 gallon by my calculations. Now I think I can make this work anyway, because it isn't a big bird and will lay down in there instead of standing up. About that time my Dad calls to tell me how glad he is that we are coming up. Then he asks about the turkey and starts freaking out about how you have do it exactly this way or else. So now he has my Mom out running around for more oil.
I get my marinade out that I made this morning and get the injector and start shooting up the bird. Then the injector gets clogged and the next thing I know I have shot turkey marinade all over the kitchen and myself. :)) In the meantime they are working on our driveway this week regrading and doing gravel. They have this big vibratory roller machine and every time it gets close to the house the windows rattle, the floor shakes, the dog panics and the cats run and hide.
The one good thing is that I found a bottle of my favorite wine in the garage refrigerator when I was moving things around to get the turkey in there. So now I'm going to the shower to wash the marinade out of my hair and then I'm going to assume that it is 5 'oclock somewhere and start drinking. :0)
Anyone wanna come for Thanksgiving??
LOL..... had days like that! Glad I'm not having one today. Have the turkey finishing thawing in the kitchen sink cold water, veggies and stuff set out to mix together, thinking about making a pecan pie and definately making DH a coconut cream. Thinking about making the egg noodles and peeling the potatoes for boiling tomorrow. I forgot cranberry sauce! I can't eat turkey without cranberry sauce. Know better than to ask DH to stop and get it. He would freak out trying to find it and it being 'exactly' what I wanted, so need to run to town. Oh ya, won hockey tickets for Friday night, need to go to the radio station and get them. Clean a little, computer a little, get some DG packages ready to go, clean a little, do more DG stuff, gathered some rose moss seeds, set down to rest, clean a little, rest a little, WHAT!!!!! no wine in the house, except me whining. Shoot, I'm going to have to go to town after all. Need to fold the laundry in the baskets, clean a little more. SHOOT, at this rate I'll be ready for Thanksgiving next week. WHAT do you MEAN I have 24 hours!!!!!! Gonna be a long night..........
LOL, Neener, I know that feeling. We must be related.
I have plenty of wine here, Crit ... just nothing else to go with it. ROTFL
Debra, your envelope just arrived. My word, woman. I thought it was supposed to be some m g seed and a few lilac seeds. There is enough here to plant my entire yard!!! It has been raining a lot yesterday and today. While the ground is soft, I had best go out and start some more planting beds! I dug one new one for next Spring but that won't be nearly enough. LOL.
Everything you sent looks very interesting. Thank you so much!
I need your prayers please for Maggie! her cousin just called me, and said she woke up at 3:00am, and could not breathe, she went to the Er, and they found out her lung had colapsed! She has 4 little kids at home, her husband is watching, so send your prayers her way please!
Thanks for the info LK. She is too young. There must be something weird going on related to her recent delivery. YIKES!

I'm not home. If I wrote that, they'd better take me off of the morphine. Lol. Where did it sound like that??
Maggie so glad to hear from you. You poor thing, right at the holiday. Rest up kiddo, your body is telling you, you need it. Not that hospitals are restful. Wish we could all be there to help.
Happy Thanksgiving, Maggie, wherever you are. ;-)
(((((MAGGIE))))))), my apologies for my mis-understanding. When I saw your post (don't remember which thread) my tiny brain just said 'she got to go home'! I've forgotten with all the mobile devices how people can communicate from anywhere. Hope you are feeling better. Prayers continue to be lifted up for you and your family!

Back to the KITCHEN
tater,
What brugs do you have? When you cut them back, could I beg you for some starts? I don't think my white Super Nova is gonna make it. I am collecting different brug starts to grow for next summer. I'm a new brug lover.
THANKS!
Patti
Boy Linda Kay, this cold front is going way south huh? Wish I had words of wisdom, I know I have left them out in the 40's but I don't think anything below that. We were in the teens and the temps dropped all of sudden from 40's to teens.
taters, this is what the brug forum people said:
And do that soon. Many Brugs will survive a quick and short drop below 32ºF. Leaves and short green branches will scorch, but the rest will survive. However prolonged exposure to temperatures below freezing will kill the entire top, the whole plant if the temperature around the rootball falls below 32ºF.
To make sure your Brug survives the winter, you need to get your Brugs into a location that will remain warmer than 32ºF. Ideally above 40ºF - 45ºF.
Well, looks like I will get them cut this afternoon, as it is supposed to drop to 34 Friday night! :( Oh well, I knew I had to do it sometime!
Crit, I will have lots of cuttings, most of them are NO ID, but send me your address in a dmail, and I will get them out! Do you want me to root them, or send fresh cuttings?
Anyone else? Faye, I think you ask for some too?
Love the brugs, hate bringing them in! LOL. I have two in bloom, which I thought were different but the blooms look the same to me! darn...need to all to bloom at once so I can see for sure.
LOL @ happ
Thanks LK, I'm good with NOID's. Would you mind marking the color of them if you know it on the cutting. You don't have to root them, I've seemed to have pretty good luck with them. Still not sure the Super Nova (white) isn't rooting, I'm going to leave it alone and see if it does anything.
THANKS so much!!!!!!
Crit
Will you all add my Sister Kathy to the prayer list please! I got a phone call about an hour ago, she is in the hospital with a blood clot in her lung. They will keep her there for 3 - 4 days, with lots of blood thinners going, to try to dissolve it! It is most likely from her ankle surgery she had a few weeks ago.
thanks
Linda
OK, that's it, ladies. Pleeaze nobody else get sick!
Bit the bullet yesterday and braved the zoo in town to grocery shop for the little feast hubby and I enjoyed around 2. Never in my life have I ever prepared an entire Thanksgiving dinner in one day. My sides and desserts have always been prepared at least the day ahead. Actually timewise I either drank too much coffee this morning or was in pure adrenaline mode. Amazing what can be accomplished in a short time when you have the house to yourself. Right after hubby went deer hunting at 7, I kicked it in high gear. It just didn't work out either way for my MIL and are hoping her BP has calmed down the week-end. We certainly have plenty of leftovers.
Anybody want a slice of juicy organic turkey breast, sweet potato souffle with pineapples and PEcans, cornbread dressing with craisins & Granny Smith apples & sauteed celery & onions & more PEcans, ooey gooey mac & 3-cheese pie, roasted butternut squash drizzled with honey & sprinkled with kosher salt (from Wegman's Neener), croissants and a slice of Key Lime Pie? Don't shoot me, I cheated on the store-bought bread and pie. DH spent the rest of the PM at the neighbors (hosting Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow evening) and replaced the pipes on their woodstove. They hadn't been cleaned for 3 years and were totally obstructed. They've only built a few fires but what a wonder their house hadn't burned down! Smoke flying everywhere and the lady of the house trying to bake a cake. One hour cooking time without setting a timer turned into 1-1/2 in the frenzy and DH said it was difficult to tell whether smoke was coming from the woodstove or the oven.
Meanwhile, I spent a relaxing afternoon Christmas shopping early-bird specials in cyberspace. How I used to enjoy the craziness of the crowds on Black Friday! Just don't have the umph or nerves to fight them anymore. happ, other than having your running shoes on, what's your secret?
Thank you, dear Faye, for the cuttings that came yesterday. You sure know how to pack with a punch! Now the real test begins being able to keep them alive over Winter.
Help!
