LOL yeah, He's sure looking out for us! We were getting antsy, but "in His good time"......
I just got off the phone with our banker, and they've approved us for a mortgage amount of $300K!! Yaaaaaaaaay!! We wouldn't get a house for that amount, but geeeeeeze!!
♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 205
Hello Ladies,
Been awhile since I've been here. Been busy, busy, busy. Let's see where do I start????
Been consolidating things in Doug's house getting it ready for me to move in. Most of the stuff is his grandma's. OMG!! what a horader. Every thing and anything you can think of. Found Halloween candy that must of been 10 years old it was so hard couldn't even break it with a hammer, lol.
Next been doing some sewing for a friend of my cousin. This lady went to China and came back with 5 pieces of silk. She wants me to make jackets for her mom. Have an old jacket that was her mom's fav and took it apart to make pattern pieces from it. ugh!!
I told her 10 bucks an hour and probably take me 8 to 10 hours each jacket. No rushing that is for sure. And with my hands hurting so bad from arthritis it takes me awhile. I haven't even been able to bowl they hurt so bad. I've soaked them in hot wax, I lather them with stinky medicine, I wear special gloves all the time and they still hurt. My left hand more than my right. Will be talking to my doctor about it soon.
I qualified for Medicare last month and just signed up for supplement coverage. Medicare only pays 80% the other is paid by either yourself or supplement. I wouldn't have taken the supplement because I hardly ever need to go to the doctor other than yearly boobie squash and physical. BUT!!!! because I am hoping to have the Cochlear Implant done I need the supplement coverage. The little device that they will put in my head cost anywhere from $13,000 - $17,000. I joined a Cochlear Community and have been reading about other people who have had this done. One lady said that her total hospital bill was $107,000
WOW!!! what a long process this will be. I asked Doug if he will be able to handle taking care of me during this time. ^_^ Of course he said YES
Probably will take about 6 - 8 months before I will be able to hear like you all do. I am going to see if I can have bothe ears done at the same time. If so the surgery will take 4 - 6 hours. May go home that day but then maybe not. After I get home I will not be able to do anything for two weeks. Plus I will not be able to hear at all. I will lose what little hearing I have when they put the implant in. Then they have follow up appt. that are called Mapping. This is where they start activating the implant. First all I will hear is a bunch of beeping noises. I think there are 4 levels of mapping with each one I will gain more and more hearing. This thing is really neat because I can wear it when I am swimming or in the hot tub. With a hearing aid I can't do that. The more I read about this implant the more excited I get. So now I need to make a appt. with my doc and get things to rolling.
Susan congrats on the job. Cookie hang in there yours coming soon. LK, so sorry about the loss of your grandchild. Marion hugs and prayers for you and your mom.
Jaye, my brugs bloomed again but we had a big freeze last night. I had put them under cover in a old bird avery but it still was too cold. They look very sad today. And it is going to freeze again tonight. We got a lot of snow over the last few days. Doug and I went up to some friends house last Friday and it started snowing. I got in the hot tub!!! I had always wanted to do that and finally got the chance. Oh it was so neat. Was in there enjoying myself then here come Doug and Doug. Yea my friends names are Doug and Gayle, lol. Mine and Doug's middle names are Gail. And Gayle's middle name is Christine, my daughter's name is Cristina. LOL lots of similarites. There are some people without electricity and won't get any until sometime Friday or later. Glad we are not them.
Made pies and dinner rolls for Turkey day, daughter doing the turkey and everyone going over to her house. Will be very small Thanksgiving for us. Just me, mom daughter and her hubby, Taylor and Kain. Oh well look at all the food we are going to have.
So Ladies...............I wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
wow Cindy - so much going on in your life!! So, you're getting one or two Bionic Ears? kewl!! ^_^
Is Doug not spending Thanksgiving with you? His name wasn't mentioned on your list........
No Doug is not spending Thanksgiving with me. This will be his first Thanksgiving home in 14 years. So he is spending some time with his mom and then some time with his dad. But I told him he is mine for Christmas ^_^
Cindy, sure sounds like your plans are all falling into place! Sure hope you get your implants soon. Tell us how it goes!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Jaye, i always say after your verse his word says he will nevre leave us or forsake us..
I'm fixing us chicken, squash, potatoe maybe, and another veg. he does not like dressing so fixing me a small bowl.
Thinking of everyone, have a wondeful blessed Thanksgiving..may all your prayers be answered..
Happy Thanksgiving to all my US buddies - hope your Thanksgiving is Blessed, Happy, and spent with the ones you love and care about. ^_^
OMG Cindy-that is so awesome!!! I am so happy for you on both the Doug front and on the hearing front!!
Auntie Giggles-so sorry:( The only job I had in the last almost 2 yrs was Michaels which was min wage and only part time:( Not a lot of $$ for sure...
I am thankful for so many things this year. For my friends and family here on DG, for getting to spend time with them this past summer, for my beautiful son that is truly a miracle, for being privileged enough to have been a part of Grandpa's life, for the fact that my Mom was able to come up when Jonathan came home.....
New blog post:

Have a great day everyone!!
Jaye, will you add my Sister Kathy to the prayer list please! I got a phone call about an hour ago, she is in the hospital with a blood clot in her lung. They will keep her there for 3 - 4 days, with lots of blood thinners going, to try to dissolve it! It is most likely from her ankle surgery she had a few weeks ago.
thanks
Linda
Prayers are being said for Kathy, Linda - even as I type this.......
Please Lord, keep Kathy in your loving, gentle hands, so she and her family may relax and let your healing touch give her ease. In Jesus' name, Amen
Thank you!
Prayers said for Kathy LK... Please keep us posted when you can.
Thanks Barb!
well i had a really realy crazy morning ....
first off
Lucy was puking all over the crate at 5am ? smelled horrible ! grabbed her , grabbed my robe ( and that was it folks ) ran her outside until she finished.
savanna left a toy of hers in her crate. a rope type toy. she ate the stings ! and puked them up . trust me not pretty.
oh and did i mention it was pouring rain ?
also Lucy likes to eat her puke !! so i was trying to get her to back away from it as i tried to keep my robe closed , she was puking . no fun nor easy
5 : 45 am at last back to bed. crawl in and snuggle in all warm.
oh no its gets better .
i hear screams outside !! murderous screams ? wake up , grab robe again. find out its in the chicken coop. yep still raining !
slip on the way to the coop flat on my A$$. get up. get inside coop with robe flying open again ! and there is the one rooster ( the big one) killing the other one .
right on his back just tearing away at the poor thing. I knew this would happen soon but welll...... just didn't act apon it soon enough.
so i m tearing roosters apart. The girls are going stir crazy , flying all over the coop in chicken hazed crazed flurry of feathers.
oh and visualize me with " just a robe on that just doesn't want to stay closed ? , with flying chickens " yes.
got a hold of the rooster who was just bleeding out. wrapped him under my arm
ran him to the other coop which is 50 ' away up the driveway. big rainboots on my feet , a robe that i can't keep closed ! with a rooster under my arm.
well on my way to save the bird,,,,, what did he do ? ...... took a huge POOP right on me !!!!! UHG I M talking the kind of poop that is projectile and never ending . sooooo
7 am got inside house.
took off robe started laundry , showered.
guess who just puked again ? ! honestly i let her clean it up this time and told her she has to wait until i m ready for her.
7 ; 25am got back in bed . all nice and cleaned...
7;26 AM " MOM I M HUNGRY. MOM I WANT A MOVIE" mom can i play with Lucy " ? mom mom mom mom ...................
7;27 am rise and shine
how was your Holiday ???
honestly you can't make this up ,,,, can you ?
Good Lord, Sue!! no, I shouldn't think anyone could make this up............ ewwwwwwwww
wanna take a trip and visit me? right about now, is a good time for you, m'thinks!!
Sue, I have had similar days!!!! thankfully they seem to be...few and far between~~~!!!!!
nothing in the world that can compare to a "chicken scream"!!! well turkeys are close!!!!
sure hope your day got better????!!!!
OMG-LOL-sounds like you had a heck of a morning!! Dogs will do that you know-eat their own vomit. Our cat is the puker around here-every time we let her outside she eats grass and about an hour after she comes back in I find a nice surprise someplace...I didn't know Roosters were so mean to each other!! Wow-talk about the alpha male!! I am waiting for Jonathan to wake up this am so I can feed him and head to Joann's to get some flannel and some thread...
Jonathan's medicine seems to be working. He is much more comfortable when he eats, sleeps better and longer between bottles. He had a bottle at 7 last night when we got home and slept til 2am!! Now if we can just get him to sleep that long from about midnight til about 6 or 7am, that would be great!!
Goodness Sue, sounds like you had a hectic day for sure! So sorry!
Stacey, so glad the meds are helping little Buddies tummy! He will be sleeping the night before you know it!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready, or hot chocolate if you prefer?

Susan packing as we speak LOLLLL
actually Dh may have to go to Canada for a day or two. IF me and the kids had visa's we would make it a holiday trip, but i don't have any records of my birth certificate . Years ago we lost it during our travels . i lost my oldest DD also ? how we don't ?
we just didn't think of doing and keeped putting it aside . :( now its to late to get it all done .
but it still in the making of projects
have a great day to you all
Good morning Sistahs.
Amen to that prayer for Kathy Susan.
Blood clots formed in lungs are most of the time originate from the legs, I heard. LK, keep us posted on her progress, please. That's a scary situation as I read that some wouldn't even know they have pulmonary embolism.
Cindy, you got a good man there. Ain't it wonderful that God sets it up that you'll be taken care of in all ways? Especially after a life changing surgery. Good luck on the implant, and you'll be able to hear what's going on around you, clearer.
I don't want that kind of days, Sue!!! Think we all had one of those but you are apparently the unlucky one. It all had to do with feathers and fur!
Yah, roosters can be vicious especially penned together. If that rooster had belonged to my late grandma, she would have rung its' neck and we'd be having rooster curry for lunch!!!
Poor you Sue.. get your papers in order so the next time.. you can join your DH anywhere in the world!
That's good news Stacey!! So.. if he eats and sleep well, that means Jonathan will be pooping well too?
All the aunties you have here, and not one of us live close enough to help you out... you might have to move down South where road travelling won't be that long!!
I hope you all have had a great Thanksgiving feast and NO leftovers!!
Thank you sistah Judy. At first I got pretty upset with MIL's sudden decision to cancel her Thanksgiving plan, part of Kel's punishment.. but then I realized I've been asking the Lord for our own celebrations for years now!!!
He has made a way for that to be possible!!! Amen!!!
Yep, we had a VERY good time yesterday. We were at the restaurant before opening time and the owner, upon seeing us in the parking lot, came to greet us. She then literally ran back to the restaurant, came out with cooked chicken for Lola. Yep, Lola had her Thanksgiving lunch before us!
Meals were from the regular menu, Thai fish cakes, fried wontons, fried tofu... Kel had Thai Pepper Steak and I had a vegetarian Drunken Noodle. The most surprising thing was the owner created a dessert just for us. It's a coconut custard pudding with tapioca balls and it's so delicious. The owner also made sure it's not too sweet for me, respecting my diabetes. Kel who's not much into sweet coconut, ate 3 bowls!
Didn't I say they're almost like family to us?
After that we headed for a book store. Kel added to his collection of the "Far Side Gallery" and I got the 2nd. volume of 100 blocks by the Quiltmaker magazine.
When we got home, it was just in time to watch a nail biting game between the Saints and Dallas. Yayyy... Saints won!!
BUT.. I did cook for supper. Made the creamiest macaroni and cheese and sirloin beef tips. Can you say.. stuffed again?
Then the snooze fest began! It was certainly the best Thanksgiving day for us... no dramas.. no bad food...and it's so special to us, celebrating what He has done for us.
I truly have so many reasons to be thankful.
I thank the Lord for the things He gave me, and those that He didn't and the ones He's about to give!
This is the bowl of that special Coconut Custard.

Sue - what part of Canada is your DH going to?
my DH had lost his birth cert, and his SIN card, and we finally got the application in to the Gov't and he now has it. NOW, it's time to get our passports so we can trek down to the US next summer lol
Susan don't know what part he will go to. just enough to cross a boarder and then back in 48 hrs. :)
Jaye i m so glad to hear you had such a wonderful dinner. oh wow. that food sounds good. I think next year i will be hitting your house !!
i have a sick chicken and so i made her some Jook with tea. it seems to be helping ?
i m still eating pie. i will regret this , i just now it LOL
Sue, you can call the courthouse where you were born, and request the paperwork to get replacement birth certificates. You might be able to do everything on the phone?
That makes it a little more difficult, but when Bob had to get his info (didn't have his birth cert OR his SIN card), the Gov't wanted him to Prove he was a Canadian......... and all it took was someone in a specific career, in good standing, to sign that they'd known him for 2 years (a nurse who'd been one for 37 years, signed - she's our neighbour)!! As if That was going to prove he was born in Canada? I don't understand..............
hello everyone,
Linda prayers for your Sister.
Jaye glad you Kel. had a wonderful day such kind sweet people you know..prayers for all kel.'s family and yours.
Many blessings... prayers for all needs.
Good morning!!
How about some melted ham and cheese sandwiches? It's almost lunch!
Twyla, when I get it rough, I think of you and your faith. You are truly a remarkable Christian.
LK, how's your sister? Will you be able to visit her?
Sue, my maternal grandma's adopted. She was born in China, and a couple of Egyptian traders adopted her and her sister. They lived in Cairo for a while then her adopted parents decided to set up shop in Singapore. The 2 sisters married 2 SIngaporean brothers with an Indian mother! Talk about going global!!
Sorry Sistah Kathy.. I was rooting for Bama last night. They were ahead in the first half and then they shut down the next?? What's wrong with Saban? He didn't have any fire left in him it seems to me? But then the players made mistakes too... sigh.. I was so wanting to see the Barners burn. But Bama band made me laugh when they played "Son of a Preacher Man" and "Take your money and run"!! Lol!!
Yep, I watched football yesterday and didn't go to bed till around 2! Watched #19 Nevada whopped #4 Boise!! Took an interest in this game as Boise's College administrator talked smack about other teams not belonging in BCS!!!
Can't you all tell that I LOVE college football!! Lolol!!
More football today and Kel's gonna get some grilled chicken wings!!
You all have a beautiful day today, you hear!!
Kathy is in Michigan, and with all of us fighting bad colds, it will not be a good idea to fly there and get her sick too! I tlak to her everyday, and so far, she is on heprin, and counadin, do try to dissolve the clot! They take a catscan everyday, and so far, it has not moved, nor dissovled! She has been told, it can take several days for her body to get enough heprin, to start working, so they are keeping her there till at least Monday! She is told to stay in bed, she can get up to go potty, but that is it!
Grilled cheese sandwhich sounds yummy! We had ham and bean soup yesterday. Sure was good for these cold bones!
It dropped to 33 here last night! But the few brugs I did not cut back, have not been harmed. The weather channel said most plants will be OK, because of the dew point, and humidity was so low, no moisture in the air!
Stay warm everyone!
i don't want to talk about saban or the tide. bought a new tv just to watch the iron bowl. felt like putting my foot threw it
Ham and bean soup!! That's a winner LK!!
Thank God for modern communications. You'll be kept abreast of what's going on with Kathy. I for one always worry when something happens to any of my siblings and I can't be close physically.
(((((((((((((Sis Kathy)))))))))))))) Don't do that.. there's always next year.
Let's hope Saban don't take Dallas.
Linda, I'll say extra hard prayers for Kathy tonight along with my normal ones. Hope this disolves soon for her.
Linda praying for Kathy..
Jaye , we just love our father and we all have faith .. your a good Chistian lady yourself.. we get thru the rough times.. i said today to myselfd i believe and this will all be better.. and praise him..
i love grilled cheese and ham and beans.. but..
Everyone be well, safe, happiness,blessings.
First, let me get this out before I hit for church...
ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! LSU lost!!! They are playing at half the competency!!
There.. I'll start new now.
Glorious Sunday sistahs!!!
Twyla, I'm 'that' way with soy milk and eggs! Whereas Kel can eat anything and still be 'volatile'!! Lol!!
It's sweater weather time! I know the church will pump up its' heating unit and we'll be looking for something to fan ourselves with 1/3 into the sermon.
I'll petition to the Lord to grant all the prayer requests, and may His will be what we want.
(((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))
You all have a Blessed Sunday ladies.
Sorry Jaye, but PIGGGG SOOIEEEEEE GO HOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of prayers are out from me too Kathy.
Glorious afternoon all. Came home last night and crashed as traffic was horrendous yesterday!!
LK adding prayers for your sister.
Jaye, so sorry about LSU BUT FSU broke their losing streak against the Florida Gators--actually beat Miami and the Gators for the mystical state crown!! Ah life is sweet in Tallahassee today.
Planned to just rest today but discovered the cupboard is bare and will need to make a quick trip to the grocery so Kim can have lunches this week.
Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers!
Kathy is still in the hospital. She will most likely be there a few more days! The Dr.'s told her the heprin, and coumadin, have to get to a certain level, before it will start to work, and for some reason, it is not at the levels they want yet! So they keep increasing the doses, but have to be careful, and not get her blood too thin! So it is just a hurry up and wait game! She is doing good as far as pain goes, they have her sedated most of the time, as they don't want her to move around too much!
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! they do mean a lot!
Marion, glad to hear your back home, get some rest, and catch up here when you can!
We had the big U of M and OSU border battle game on Sat-boy was it a HUGE deal around here. OSU won of course as they have for the last 7 years I think they said....
HI Auntie M!!!
LK-glad to hear she is doing OK and not in any pain.
