Glad I could help, Linda ^_^

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Bad news about the job....

"We were impressed with your qualifications; however, we have other candidates whose skills more closely match the requirements of the position. We will keep your resume on file and contact you should another opportunity become available. We look forward to speaking with you again."

:o(

Guess I'll be thankful for other stuff.....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

(((((((((((Joyce))))))))))) - so sorry to hear this... :-( .... JUST as I have my good news ......

I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm shaking right now...... I got an email from them, with a link to my wage, etc, but nothing about when I start. I called Bob and while starting my conver with him, another call came in from the office and she said "Jerri spoke to you about wages, etc... " I said 'no, I haven't talked to anyone since Nov 2". she said "I'll talk to Jerri and call you back".
They've moved to the new location - 5 min away.

It's taking me awhile to type this as I'm making typos..... all over the place......and correcting them LOL
I'm waiting for more info from them, and will give it to you when I get it

Susan

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cookie so sorry but there are better jobs out there!!! Look how long it took Susan to get hers.

Congrats Susan!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Linda

((((((((((Cookie dear)))))))) you WILL get the job that's meant for you!!
Prayers from our dear sistahs got me this job, now they can concentrate all their thoughts and prayers on your job (and that's a lot of powerful praying!!!)

Cookie i m so sorry to hear of the news on the job. I really thought you had such a great chance at it .
Susan CONGRATS !! hooray you got the job. Glory glory .
The reason why Dh can't come home is due to , your only allowed min of 34 days in the states to claim tax free income. So if he comes home early. He will be over that and we don't want to pay a whole year of taxes ! yikes.
I can't sell that many tree's in a month. LOLLL
crissy i hope tiga can get some comfort with her meds.
Jaye i may attempt to make some drapes . and some hats. with silly hair in them.
other than that ?
not much else

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Susan what a great God we have.. happy happy for you blessings

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Congrats Susan!!! Been a long time, but His ways are not ours to question!

Cookie, me too thought this might be it. So sorry sistah, but I'm sure He has his reasons for you not to get that job.
Susan is right.. your time will come.. and now that prayers for Susan are out of the way.. we're able to concentrate more on you and Dave. (Crissy's DH)
((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))

Sue, when my ex was working overseas, the same rule applied then. But with McDermott, he worked 30 days and off one week, and that one week off, I'll fly to meet him wherever he wants to take vacation time. Most of it in Europe or Asia.. so no stepping on U.S. soil. Good thing the company also has its' own hostels!!
Hats?? Wow.. there are very few milliners around. Who knows you might start a new career!

Crissy, Tiga will live for a long, long time, with the care you've given her.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Just so you know.....
It's an Executive Assistant position with Alberta Health Services, and it's a 5 min drive from me, making a bit more than I made at my last job.
I'd applied the end of Sept, got my 1st interview on Oct 13th, and then I got offered a casual position that same day. I called back my interview and they said "you've been screened in" I confirmed (3 different ways!!) that she meant I was being offered a job.... she said "Yes" 3 different ways rofl I told her, "based on what you're saying, that I will be offered a job, I will turn down the casual position" I said this a couple of times. Then I got a 2nd interview on Oct 22, and a 3rd interview on Nov 2nd along with a Skills Test same day. My references were called Nov 3, and I hadn't heard anything Since! It's been 3 weeks to the day, and then they emailed me an offer. Apparently they were supposed to call me first and forgot....
So, even though I'm being offered the job, I have to wait until one of my new bosses calls me to talk about the job. I suppose she'll call tomorrow whistling
The lady I spoke to today said she'd left a voice mail and an email telling her to call me ASAP so they can get on with it!!!LOL

good night sistah's
i m pooped
sleep well

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Night everyone!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Congratulations Susan. Norm became unemployed Jan 15 2008 and has only had a part time job since Aug -28 hrs a week and $8,00 hr. Be very grateful you got one so quickly and at a great salary....
Cookie, my prayers go out to you and I'm sure the best job for you will come soon......

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes, I thought you got a job really quickly, Susan. That's great. I've been unemployed since January of 2009. Nearly two years now. This is only the 2nd time in those two years that anyone even gave me hope of a job. The first one I interviewed for and felt really good about it. It was for a company that was minority owned (black). I was really qualified for that one, but guess someone else was more qualified.

Anyway, thank you all for your prayers....I'll make it...not sure how yet, but I know I will.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning!!!!!
Oh what a busy day this will be for the cooks. I'm still undecided!!
Want to do a seafood gumbo, but Kel suggested for some cornbread stuffking and that doesn't go good with gumbo!! Unless I break tradition and do that instead of potato salad. Hmm..
Knowing him, tomorrow he might just whisk me out of the house for a restaurant Thanksgiving!!
Normally, we have Thanksgiving with the family every year, since I've been here.
You all recall the drama I had told with his late serving aunt? Well, we stopped doing it with them and last year, it was just his parents, his brother + wife and us.
Parents in law stopped talking to BIL + wifey, so that certainly meant empty chairs this year.
Just last week, MIL decided there'll be no Thanksgiving at her house, a retaliation to Kel's decision to take his life back.
She's not upsetting me at all!! On the contrary!!!! Yayyyyy.. for the first time, it's gonna be a REAL Thanksgiving for us. No more tension nor drama on this Blessed day!!
But poor FIL will see more empty chairs.

Anyway, I better be off and get the breakfast sausage for the stuffing.. and a bottle of Martinelli's Sparkling Cider.

Oooops... coffee is ready. Help yourself to some cranraisin muffins.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

When my DH didn't have any work, except for what neighbours, friends, and the church gave him in 2008, it was difficult. I'd Just gotten a job, and it seemed one or the other of us would be employed, not both......
My temp job started in April 2008, got it permanently in August. His job was construction and the 'bottom fell out' in June 2008...... then he got a job in Dec 2008 from one of the congregation as they needed a shipper/receiver at their company. He's now been there 2 years....... I pray that we will both be employed until we wish to retire (when we're 90, the way the economy is going LOL)

Joyce - you will get not only a Job, but one that is worthy of you, this I pray. Just getting a job is not enough - pray for what you Need in a job, and it Will Come.
Thunder's son - it may be that you work at McDonalds, but I pray it will soon become as a Manager - more in keeping with you and your family's needs!

Lord, hold them in your gentle, loving hands. If Cookie needs to be with her family right now, then that's your Plan...... ease her worry, and let her know that pay does not show her value - her value is shown by what she has to offer and how it affects others. She is loved and cared for by You. Lord, Thunder's son should know that he is also a valued member of his family, and they will support him in all things. Thy Will Be Done. Amen.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Seems to me there was some hotdog eating last Thanksgiving, or am I dreaming that, Jaye? Anyway, we here are MOST thankful for you and Kel...consider us there celebrating with you no matter what you serve!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Barb!!! Cookie!!!!

Canada's economic state is not as bad as ours. But for whatever its' worth, I am so glad that God is in control of our lives, and not our govt.
We would be starving!!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks for the prayer Susan (she says with tears streaming down her face)...I really, really needed that....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

AMEN Susan!!!

Oh Cookie, you remembered!!!!! :(( Yes, it was hotdogs plus canned chilli.
I'm already feeling a whole lot better knowing I have your love. Thanks Cookie.
And Kel will certainly appreciate that. I do hope he will be able to be at Sistah Judy's next year.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

(((((((((((((COOKIE))))))))))))))))))

I have faith that He is making a way for you to be financially secure.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Joyce, now you have ME crying........... just know that HE will provide for you what is needed, and his Love is definitely on the "needed" list. I'm sending you long gentle hugs, cuz we both know what it's like to be unemployed. My worst part was feeling less-than-valued, so I threw myself into working for the church. Some people (at the church) thought I was working too hard, and I just had to tell them 1. I don't know how long I'd be able to help, during my unemployment, and 2. it's one way to Make me feel valued, even though I know the Lord Always values us, it's hard sometimes to recognize it yourself.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan You're talking nonsense there!!! You'll always be a worthy sistah to us, no matter what you're going through.
Love endures!!!

Okay.. a smiley picture for y'all before I leave.. some of my brood.. and how many do you see?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I know I'm a worthy person, just that sometimes I Feel unworthy, and that's what companies do when they lay you off, or don't hire you. Knowing, and Feeling, are very different things, and our minds can do all sorts of things to us......

Jaye - there are 5 kittens. Do you have names for them?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I agree with Susan....and that's exactly what I was crying to Bill about feeling so unworthy and not being able to do my share....

I'm thinking SIX kitties, am I right?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, that is a wonderful prayer, and I agree so much!
Hang in there Cookie. Your phone will ring, and you will be surprised at the offer!

Jaye, I see 5 kitties!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I need your prayers please for Maggie! Synda, her cousin just called me, and said she woke up at 3:00am, and could not breathe, she went to the Er, and they found out her lung had colapsed! She has 4 little kids at home, her husband is watching, so send your prayers her way please!
She is in several of the swap threads, and I just wanted to get the prayer request out there!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((Maggie))))))))))) we're "pulling" for you...... the Lord will watch over you, your 4 children, and your DH.
Synda - thank you for letting LK know about Maggie's condition.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks LK, that's scary. Praying Maggie will pull through.

Susan and LK are right. 5 kitties. Starting at 12 o'clock... Cupcake.. Rimau.. (hidden behind Silver)... Silver... Oreo and Pharoah.
Sorry.. no prizes!!

Peeling garlic now for stuffed potatoes. Got eggs boiled, did the prep work on meat and veges.. and hoping that it's gonna be good football on tv tomorrow. Kinda tired of the Lions.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Just got back from Bertie's and a couple Rumtini's...oh yum...anyway, she is the sweetest thing. Made me a yummy cranberry salad to take to Lisa's tomorrow. She gave me some last year and it was soooo good. Has cranberries, pineapple, apples, jello, oranges and pecans...then a really yummy sauce that goes on it, too....can't wait.

Maggie just posted on Betty's thread...she's doing okay. They're keeping her until at least Monday though....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yummy - that cranberry salad sounds good!
Thanks for posting about Maggie - at least she's keeping in touch with her laptop, while at the hospital!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, I bet Bertie's cranberry salad is much better than Sam's.

PTL.. Maggie's fine.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, Susan.. we are our own worse critics.

I've met Bill, and I truly don't think Bill will hold anything against his Sunshine.
I'm yet to meet Bob, and I feel the same way about him too Susan.
The love you both have for your DHs, I'm sure it's return the same fold and maybe even more.
For better or worse, you will both be paddling in the same boat, just with one paddle for now.

I feel the same way now and then. Yes, me too can succumb to emotions. Lol!!
Guilt is there when the medical bills come in and or when I need to get my meds refilled. Especially when the recession is hitting the business bad too.
For better or for worse right?

You know, we may have only one paddle to row our boats.. but then.. we have to have faith and cling on to hope that at least the Lord is keeping our boats afloat.

Did i hear garlic ???
Cookie i m wrapping my arms around you and squeezing.
sending T&P for Maggie.
Jaye i love hotdogs and chilli ! to me that is a great meal on turkey day.
i like to think outside the box :)
got a turkey in oven tonight.
i m going to my MIL and FIL tomorrow so i m doing my own stuff tonight and friday. Her turkey loaf is well......... please dont make me say it ........ :( dry as a sand in Arizona . but the love it that way ? go figure. good thing the other stuff is good. so i only take one small peice LOL
Lucy is busy with her new chew ball. Kong ball with a huge biscuit in it , she has been working on it for about an hr. LOL
prayers and always thinking of you all
many thanks to all of you for being here.
sue

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You have a wonderful day tomorrow, Sue. At least there'll be something else you could eat!

Sistahs,
I'm memorizing this verse for my own good..

Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

you are not going to BELIEVE what just happened.......
y'know I got offered the job yesterday... well, i was going to call our mobile salesman and let him know to put the house back up for sale. I hadn't, and the sign is in our house, cuz without a job, I couldn't afford a mortgage....
Well, doorbell rang, and a young couple were there asking if we were selling....!!!!
I COULDN'T show them the house..... since Aug, I have "let it go" and it's in a terrible state! I gave them our salesman's ph# and name, then I called him, and shocked him with both pieces of news!! Our previous contract had expired in Oct anyway, so we'd need to "re-up it"............
O my Goodness!!!! What a couple of days!! Bob said "I don't relish moving in the winter" I told him we'd move if the place sold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And no arguing!!!! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan that is great news! If you sell it yourself you won't have to pay the realtor fees!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well, I may contact the young couple and see....... they live in the same mobile park (gave me their address).
thing is, they'd need to sell their home, too.....

btw - more "luck"........ I was clearing out some recyclable newspapers, and came across a $20 bill!!! Geeeeze, this is my day, eh?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What a day indeed!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

indeed!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

WOW!! Triple AMENS!!
