Evening sistahs ^_^

Thank you Susan for helping me out.
Not to alarm you all, I've told Susan to let you know that I'm taking a trip. Actually my trip was an emotional one.
I did take a trip on Tuesday, but was back the same evening, only to face some challenges. Needed to remove myself from everything so I could think and pray, and especially not to worry any of you sistahs.
I've cleared some cobwebs.. but when I removed myself from everyday affairs.. I've unfortunately sent some plants in the gh to eternal rest :(

LK, I am so sorry over your loss. I know you're so looking forward to a grandchild. Please tell your DIL not to give up. The miracles of modern medicine will help her get the family she's always wanted.

Sis Kathy, what did the MRI tell you? Stay off heavy work please!!! You're in a new home, so you'll be able to plan a new garden, that's more friendly to your back!

Sistah Judy, seems like you're getting the house ready for Christmas!!! Wait.. don't you go down south for Christmas anyway? Psssst.. when you're through prepping the house, come on over and do mine ;)

Sue, did your mind went a little loco after staining the gh? I can't bear to smell those fumes!! You know what you can do, and it won't be fair to commit yourself to apple cider next year if you can only give half of your energy!! Tell your boss that.

Twyla, I am so happy for you. God must have made sure you have a place that you'll be surrounded with good friends. Please take good care of yourself.

Cookie, sistah... Marion.. ladybugqueen.... hope you both are still sane!!

Waving to Crissy!!! Barb!!!!

Ready for Thanksgiving????

Love this..

I am here-glad to see you back Tante:)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Welcome Back, Jaye!! I'm glad to have helped, but I'm no Jaye!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hey Little Mama... I need to get back to regular reading on your blog!
Love you sweetie!!

Susan, you're such a dear!!! You could rest easy now, and finish those banners!!! Thank you so much for giving your all in the rooms.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I've done with banners for awhile - Got a lot done, and may do one for Christmas......
I surely didn't do as much as you do in the rooms, Jaye - I have no memory for catching up with others.... I'm sure people think I don't pay attention when actually I just have a good, but short, memory LOL

Now I need to concentrate on my mom's Christmas present quilt ^_^
I'm going to tie it, rather than quilt, because of the many mismatched corners. My mom, bless her heart, has never pieced a quilt before, and she's not a mathematician......

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Good morning, sistahs, all! Sorry I've been MIA again....just haven't been in a good place, so Jaye, I certainly understand...

We went to the oncologist with Mom last Thursday and she has ordered a PETscan for this coming Monday. Then we'll meet with her to go over treatment options on Friday. She did give her new medicine for her diarrhea, so we're praying that that will help, cause the cancer is giving her no pain, but the diarrhea is a BIG pain in the arse! Oops...sorry...

Still no news on the job. How about you Susan? I finally called last Thursday since she had said she'd call me one way or the other by the end of last week or the beginning of the next, so when I finally got a hold of her she said they'd had a couple of unexpected hurdles in the department and the higher ups hadn't come back with their list of who they wanted to interview yet, so she said probably the beginning of THIS week. Please, oh please pray for me to get this job....things are going to be unbelievably bad in 3 weeks when my unemployment stops.

I did get some wonderful news.....I'm going to be Nana again! Chris and Kevin (in FL and heading to CO) are expecting. This will be their 3rd and we are so hoping for a little girl this time.

Just have to share this picture with you....The little guy on the left is Kavin, he's the 3 y/o GS in FL. The little guy on the right is Will. He's the 3 y/o GS here in OH. Aren't they adorable?

Morning everyone!

Cookie, those two GS's are so precious! COngrats on the new one on the way!

Coffee is ready, and today we have hot ham and cheese croissants!

Jaye, glad you took some "me" time, we all need it every now and then!

Happy Birthday BJ! Hope you have a great day!

Happy Birthday BJ...hope it's GREAT!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good to see you posting again Jaye, We all need some "down" time and I, for one, think you did the right thing. Love you to much to have anything happen to you dear lady.

Cookie, congratulations and I am hoping for a girl for you also. Girls are fun but then, I would have like a grandson but alas it wasn't to be.
I think of you daily and what is happening with your Mom. Sending prayers for the best.

My Mom is about the same, still uncontrollable diarrhea but has gained 3 lbs. I think finally my sister is starting to accept the fact she will never walk again. We had an outside PT come in to assess what they think Mom can do and the report wasn't what we had hoped for. No muscle and no strength to build with. Atleast Mom is letting them take her to activities at the center rather than staying in bed in her room all day. That says to me she has accepted what has happened.

Happy birthday BJ, hurry and cut that lovely cake LK posted. Would love to have a slice.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a GREAT day!!!!!

I don't know what to say, but many many prayers are going out and lots of ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, we are still sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way, and for you Mom!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

♫♪Happy Birthday, BJ♪♫

Joyce - still haven't heard about the job. At least you got some information on why they hadn't called you - I've gotten nada since I last heard from them on Nov2 and that the reference check co contacted my references on Nov 3........

Wonderful pics of your GSs - Will looks a bit devilish with that raised eyebrow!! lol

Marion - your mom sounds like mine with the loss of muscle, etc, however she's still only 91 lbs (and 91 yo) and her memory is sketchy...... she lives at her home with my brother. He's goes to work Tues to Sat daytime. She goes to a senior's center to take part in activities on Tues (8:30 to3pm) but otherwise is ok. She can't do anything as simple as pushing the pump on a coffee pot to get her own cup of coffee. She uses a walker everywhere, even in the house.
She doesn't gain weight anymore, just loses it..........well, right now she's stable for weight. Marion - every time you talk about your mom, I feel the love and worry, and really understand it. My mom physically should have gone into assisted living years ago, but now they won't take her. She's better at home in her own house - actually it's my brother's house, cuz he bought it from her (he'd been living there for 18 years with her, at that point) and he keeps telling her it's her house too, but sometimes she gets stubborn (really?!?!?!) and says it's not hers anymore, but his. She has a home there until she ........ well, y'know what I mean....

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Jaye and Marion, good to have you both back. I've missed you. this Fall has been a bad time for us, hasn't it? I just don't have the energy or enthusiasm for Christmas this year. Maybe I had better have a visit from that world wind, Betty, to get me in the Christmas mood.
I have been working hard to get all of my swaps done by Dec. 1. Marion, yours may be a little late as I have the fabric but haven't started on the blocks. I did finish my last patriotic row, completed my placemats, made towels, one Thanksgiving and two Christmas for Stacey and two Fall for me, and got all of the things done for Jonathan. I wanted to have my sewing desk cleaned off for the cleaning lady. Yes, I broke down and hired the cleaning lady that some of the ladies here use. One of the ladies goes to AZ for the winter and I took her day.
She is coming tomorrow and I wanted everything put away so she didn't have to wonder what to do with my mess. I washed the windows, cleaned the oven, and put away all of the things I brought back from the Lansing house and my Dad's. Good she could come right before Thanksgiving so everything is ship shape. I just have to clean the carpets today.
Must run and take dog to day care. She hasn't seen her pack members for the two weeks we have been back and I have prescriptions to get refilled anyway and a turkey to buy.
Have a good day and don't work too hard!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Janice - you must be pulling our collective legs......... you hired a cleaning lady, and then did the work yourself?!?!?!?!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning!

That sounds like what my ex-SIL did Susan.
She would straighten her house first before the cleaning lady comes in! When asked why, she said she didn't want any gossip that she's a messy housekeeper!
Tying the quilt is a good idea, Susan. It will go faster too. Your mum will certainly be surprised and she'd never imagine using the quilt ever!!!

Janice, so good to see you posting. It's understandable why you're not in the Christmas spirit, but then, your dad would want you to be jubilant this holy season.
When you see Betty, give her a hug for us will you?

Some good news there Cookie!! Congrats on another grandchild. Kavin and Will certainly potray that "Don't mess with me" look!!
Certainly, never a day goes by without prayers for you and your mum Cookie. Hang in there. The Lord loves you.

Marion, so good to have you back!! Thanks for those supporting words. If I didn't take any me time, think I'll be a perfect candidate for mental health care!!
Your mum's a very brave lady. Not only has she accepted her situation, but she allows the staff to do what's best for her. Does she like to read?? There are taped books that she can listen to.

Thanks for the breakfast LK. I need some good pick me up, this morning.. think I'll have 2 of those ham and cheese!
How's Andy and his wife doing? Hope they don't give up trying.

Crissy, sometimes a hug is the BESTEST thing!! Just that you have to lean down :D

Happy Birthday BJ! Show up and cut that cake!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - sorry I didn't call you back last night - had some "difficult" news and didn't feel like talking after that......
It's nothing medical, or anything that won't straighten out in a few days......

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I have to lean down a little when I hug Dave too, so that's not a big deal at all!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Janice, I am sure all of us understand. I lost my Dad this time of year 29 years ago but I still can't help but thinking of him and it does hamper me at times. Mom doesn't qualify for assisted living so that makes it rather rough.

Don't give it a second thought about the row for the swap. I am so far behind with mine. What little time I am home has been dealing with various issues that have happened while I have been gone. So I can certainly understand what you have been dealing with.

Sending warm Thanksgiving wishes to all as I am leaving to return south and you know how tricky my sister's computer can be.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have a safe trip Marion!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Joyce prayers that job will be yours..

Marion so sorry about your mother prayers..

Jaye, much happiness, blessings.. and understanding..Your a real angel.. we all wonder why and have to think things out if we can..

I'm going to bake a chicken just us two thursday..

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving. many blessings..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, God be with you and Kim on this special Thanksgiving trip.

Chicken sounds good, Twyla. No turkey here, Kel vetoed against it!! He said he'd rather have a good fat juicy hamburger. Don't think so. Think I'll just do a seafood gumbo!!!

Took some valerian and seems that the Chargers are doing well.. so I'm off to bed.

Night ladies.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Night Jaye, sleep tight!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good night, sweet Jaye!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It is a God morning!!! And He'll make it good for us ^_^
Sue, fabric store sounds like what I'd do? So.. what do you plan to sew?
Sorry to read that DH's work has been shut down. Was it a call by the govt.? I know how the govt. has a hand in EVERYTHING.
Wouldn't it be nice if he comes home in time for Thanksgiving.

Oh Cookie, I should emulate you and use my treadmill everyday.. not once in a blue moon :D

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Morning:) I love Blueberry Bagels, so thank you for breakfast;)

Hugs to you all and I hope you have a good Thanksgiving. It isn't a regular thing I get to get on the puter and chat, so wanted to make sure I didn't forget...

Auntie M-I sure do miss you:)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I didn't wake up until 10:15 this am!!! I was tired.........
I have to go to a shop today to pick up some batting. I tried to put my 3 layers together yesterday (not enuff floor or table space, so I folded it across the floor, and it wasn't working). Anyway, I discovered that the top was wider than the 72" batting...... siiiiiiiigh
I'll force myself to get out of the house........

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Aw Stacey! Someone keeping you a tad busy? LOL

OK I took Tiga to the vet this morning and got the vet I like, Dr. Parker, he grew up in my neighborhood out in the woods and because of that everyone knows him and takes their animals to him. He came in all happy to see me and me him and Dave gossiped for probably 15 - 20 minutes LOL. He looked over Tiga, gave me this 30 minute lecture of how she's old and is going to start showing symptoms of being old, and he said that Dave's right, just giving her a tad bit more steroids would probably help as well as giving her a larger dose of the Glyco-Flex, which is an anti-inflammatory, would have helped. Of course it doesn't help my case that as soon as the cold front showed up and it started dumping rain at 5am she suddenly got a lot better. He did do some blood work, y'all, her numbers are better than a 1 year old kitten's numbers!!! Woo Hoo!!!! He didn't give me anything, just told me to up her doses and babysit her because she IS old. I wasn't looking for medicine, just some answers, so PPPPPPPTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHH

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Does anyone know how to replace the recycle bin on my desktop? I accidently deleted it, and don't know how to get it back!
Crissy, glad to hear nothing is wrong with Tiga, other than getting old!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

What version of windows do you have LK?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

This should help...

* Click Start/Run, type Control desk.cpl,,@Web and press Enter
* In the Desktop Icon Settings dialog, enable the Recycle Bin checkbox
* Click OK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Windows vista, 64 bit.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my gosh, that worked! Thank you so much!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

When you right-click on the Recycle Bin icon in Windows Vista RTM, there is a Delete option. Because of this, users may be tempted to click the Delete entry in an attempt to empty the Recycle Bin. That may be why the Recycle Bin icon disappeared in the first place. To remove the Delete option from the Recycle bin context menu,
* Download the file Vista_recyclebin_hidedelete.reg (from the Attachments section below)
* Save the file to your Desktop
* Right-click on the file and choose Merge
* If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation
* Click Yes to continue
* After applying the REG file, the Recycle bin context menu will appear, and you won't see the "Delete" option
