Both are wonderful stories.....people risking their own health to save helpless animals....

I really liked this video I just saw on Yahoo.com:

Thanks Celeste..... :)
Loved it, Dave! I have rescued both of mine...one good, one bad! Saw a couple walking today with 4 collies...2 rough, & 2 smooth....don't see many smooth ones around.
Weeze - I have a gut feeling that Mike Vick is sincere in trying to redeem himself. He sure is doing well with the Eagles, isn't he? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and see where it goes, and I so agree with you that he could do a whole lot of good speaking to kids about the wrongs of animal cruelty in all forms. I'm all for a second chance if someone is sincere. I think he needs a Bichon! LOL... Maybe two puppies at once...they'd be a match for even him! My DG namesake (Donnie) was named after the Eagles former QB, Donovan. Just another useless piece of trivia!

You're too nice, Louise! I like the "Donovan"...good name for a dog.
Osee went to the bridge today. He was such a wonderful cat. He will live in my heart forever.
I'm so sorry Weeze, my heart aches for you. You were a good Momma, took him in and gave him a great home. :)
I know your pain, it might be a bit easier if you keep reminding yourself,"I was a good Mom."
My condolences.
Yeah - we are the official heavenly pooper scoopers!
No poop in heaven! At least I sure hope not.
Karen
Michael Vick makes me sick! I don't know if he could change his behavior/thinking on proper dog care. I know pedophiles can't be changed, but I don't know if it's the same for people who mistreat animals. Truth be told, when I was younger I mistreated animals. I've come a long way since then. I had big control issues I had to deal with. They still come up now and then. But I no longer mistreat animals. I love my dog and would not want to hurt her.
Cute picks of your babies, Louise, and nice holiday e-card.
Jen, Wall-e looks like he'd rather not be wearing that elf hat!
Marilyn, Jacks are very smart, but they are high energy dogs that need lots of exercise, training and attention. Poor Suey! I have forgotten Patches outside, too. Ouch! What a bad doggy mom I am!
Ridiculous, Victor, about those men being ticketed after saving that deer!
Celeste, the story about the dog rescue was great!
Weeze, sorry to hear about Osee. Losing a beloved pet is hard for anyone, but especially so around the holidays.
Karen
So sorry, Weeze.
Neat!
Karen
Weeze - so sorry about Osee! Words can't say enough, but my heart is hurting for you. I echo all the nice comments about your being a good Mom. That really counts, even though it doesn't do much for the pain right now. Hugs!!
So sorry Weeze. {{{{hugs}}}}
I am a believer that anyone can change if they have the desire to do so.
Me too.
Weeze, so sorry....hugs to you.
oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh so sorry Weeze... big ole Jersey hugs to you... if you need to talk you can always call... anytime
I'm very sorry for your loss, Weeze. I share your pain. My sweet boy Seamus died on Monday while undergoing an MRI. We thought he had a ruptured disc in his neck that was going to require surgery. The MRI showed he had three bad discs and a brain stem tumor. He was ten years old, and we loved him more than anything in the world. I am having such a hard time accepting his loss.
OMG that is terrible.... so sorry to hear about Seamus... virtual hugs going up to Maine
So sorry, nor. How horrible.
Louise and Noreaster - so very sorry for your losses. It's such a painful experience and there are few words of comfort except to say you loved your pet and your pet loved you back and sometimes that just has to be enough.
My sympathy to you both.
It is so hard to lose pets. but they both had your love.
Thanks everyone for your kind words. Noreaster, I am so sorry. If we lived closer we could share a long, long cry.
So sorry Noreaster.
Weeze and Noreaster - condolences. They dig so deep into our hearts and leave such a large hole when they go.
Noreaster, I am so sorry for your loss, I know how you both feel, there are no words right now that will make it better.....only time :(
Noreaster, so sorry about Seamus. It's so hard to lose a beloved companion. I can't imagine losing Patches, though I know she won't be around forever.
Karen
Noreaster - I am so sad for you in your loss of dear little Seamus....what a precious face. I echo Memory, Pixie and Pirl and won't repeat what they said, but that's just what I am feeling for you. I hope your pain is eased by knowing you were in the process of doing all you could do for him. I'm sure he knew it. Many hugs to you and to Weeze.
Louise
Thank you, everyone. Seamus was the sweetest soul...truly a one in a million dog, and I love all dogs. Everyone that met him loved him. The neuro vet sent a card saying how he had captured her heart and the heart of everyone that helped take care of him at their office where we spent so much time over the last two months. We miss him so much.
I love my dogs so much, it's so hard to contemplate losing them.....hugs & sympathy to you, Noreaster. Thank you for the video, Victor.....nice to see the pups!
Wow! Poor mom is right, Victor. Can't imagine having to feed all those pups. And looks like being in the breeding business is none too lucrative, apparently.
Karen
Nice to hear how Seamus touched so many people, Noreaster. You must feel good about that, as it is clear that you did a great job "raising" him to be so special.
Saw a 9 week old Lab puppy yesterday that was the last of the litter for sale, there were 3 of them with a splattered( I think that's what the lady called it) coloring, black and tan, she looked exactly like a rottie. So cute, she was giving me puppy kisses and nibbling on my fingers.
I cannot go near puppies! I end up with one!
what's the problem???
