that cactus is awesome!!!

Many of my "houseplants" are just non-hardy plants that come in for the winter. The top right frame in this collage is that type of plant, in the sunroom. Note Pumice, our kitten, on the floor--lots of work trying to train her about the plants! Lower right is succulents and a small bonsai (Chinese elm) on the windowseat indoors. Left is a plant whose name I can't find...

The next group is a bamboo (in the sunroom), asparagus fern, and a group of orchids.

Last picture is a Ming Aralia (left), rabbit's foot fern, and succulent planter and air plants.

so good to have a space with light, we do not except for a window in the livingroom which is already full.

Wow, that long hairy plant looks like Cousin It

Just specktacular Granite!!! BTW....The kitten is beautiful!

Norridgewock, ME(Zone 5a)

The long hairy guy came from Home Depot in the depths of winter last year. I normally am careful to keep labels, but this one has escaped me.

When the kitten arrived (our first cat in many years) I did give away a euphorbia because they are so toxic. Other than that, I've been trying to train her. For the plants on the windowseat, it has been fairly easy--I bought one of those mats that makes a loud noise when she jumps on it. For the plants in the spare bedroom (orchids and Ming aralia), I placed a cannister on the floor by the door. It makes a noise to warn her, then sprays air. It has been very effective, she totally stays out of there. For the plants in the sunroom, the best solution would be to keep the door closed, but she loves to be there, as do I, so I try to educate her. There is a huge jade tree in there that I caught her climbing last week! I was not a happy camper. Attached is a picture of the jade when we had to use an engine hoist last year to repot it. It actually blooms in the winter--is covered with buds at the moment.

Very nice, Jen! I especially like the croton and African violet. I don't have any of either one. Something else I need to get!

no light, no room here.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Barely enough room and light here. Have the most light in the enclosed porch, but not that warm in there. I might end up putting an electric heater in there, especially in light of the fact that I want to put up some shelves and lights to start seeds in there this winter.

Nice Jen!! Your friends Mom should love that AV too!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

for me?????.... cool!!!!!... thank you!!!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ya, Allison that's the ones from Wind...rooted very nicely I might add......

All those plants are in my dining room(the only room with enough light). The AV is on the kitchen window sill.

The cyclamens were 3 for $15.00, so I did buy 3!
