I didn't see a thread for sharing pics of our houseplants, so I thought I'd start one. Show us all your pics of the plants that keep you happy throughout the cold, dreary winter months, including greenhouse plants.

Here's a collage of pics I took today of my plants in the porch/sunroom.

Nice, Karen...you're lucky to have such a place....I'll post some photos tomorrow.
Looking good, all safe and snug where it is warm. Wish I had a good spot like that I could put a few plants.
Not into houseplants. Too much a problem with cats and watering! Only plants are the tender ones I bring into the porch,
Thanks, you two. Not really that warm in there, but it's above freezing. My bird nest ferns did well in there all winter last year, as did a brugmansia, a palm, a couple of orchids. Temps range in the upper 40's to lower 60's in the winter. We have a heater vent in there, but no thermostat, so the temp is not regulated. The thermostat is only in our hallway, dead center in the middle of the house. The porch is way over on the north side. I has windows all the way around, like a sunroom, so it gets light from the west, north and east. The most light is from the east. The west side is shaded by various trees.
Here's a collage of pics of a bluish fern that I got yesterday. Will have to try and find out what the variety is.

Cats are a problem when it comes to houseplants. They really like to eat them, and some are toxic.
Karen
sigh...I so want a sun room
Neat idea since most of us northerners are inside for the season. I'll pix and get back to you. We dont have many.
Here they are
I love this software for presentations with music. ENJOY

Really love that begonia! Nice presentation, JoAnn!
Nice, JoAnne and Marilyn. I love the cacti you both have. I'm envious. I need to get one now.
JoAnne, I think your NOID plant after the begonia is some sort of clivia.
I found out what my new NOID fern is. It's a Bear's Foot Fern. This particular variety is called Phlebodium aureum mandaianum ´Blue Star´. http://www.vitroplus.nl/v2/fern_detail.php?fern=30

Thanks Karen You are right.
DD brought it home from her office after the latest "lay-off"
The owner lost in the roulette.
I'm going to check it out.
Does anyone have a Clivia that blooms up north?
DD has one we put out in summer, nice dappled shad area.
House temps in winter go to 60's at night.
We have had this plant 2 years, no blooms yet.
I had one for years, ge, and it did bloom for me but was just too huge so I sent it off to sunny Florida in a trade years ago.
They love being pot bound.
Withhold water during the winter months to encourage blooms.
Thanks Pirl. will-do.
nice stuff Karen!!!... I can pout over not having a sun room either
nice collection Pixie
my houseplants look pitiful right now... no need to share
:)
that first one is awesome Celeste... and love the coleus!!!
We dont have anything really sensational as far as HP goes. Mostly inherited from siblings when they moved etc.
Pixie, verbena is a great plant.....will bloom forever in a warm spot!
Pretty bunch of blooms and plants pixie. They must help with the cold snowy winter up there.
Great plants, Celeste. I love all of them.

We have an angel-wings begonia which was given to us when Jumper 2 was born. The lady who helped out had it for quite awhile so it must be over 50 yrs old. I also have an apricot Xmas cactus which lives on a TV tray in the diningroom.
That's an old begonia! I have a friend who has a huge Christmas cactus that gets covered with blooms every year.
Karen
We have to keep taking cuttings to keep it in bounds. But those still make it the same plant.
wow that is an old begonia!!.... I keep looking at the Christmas cactus cuttings I rooted... from a DG'er... wondering if they are going to bloom or not
Hope they bloom for you, Allison.
Karen
thanks!!!.... me too!!!... I have really no clue how to care for them... should really look it up
50 - 59 degrees, short days - long nights: it was just on radio!
East window (no light bulbs on at night) helps set the flower buds.
I need to take some pics of my indoor plants...I would love to put in some of those window shelves, but hubby doesn't support my habit so I don't think that will happen any time soon.
