So is DH
That's Entertainment!! Part 5
So am I. Still haven't finished the 3rd season, but hope to soon.
Karen
I am waiting for the 4th season. DD and her friend nearly busted when they realized they were watching the same thing. I begged not to be told what happens because I havnt seen it.
I nearly had to leave the room.
I just finished watching Gamer on Netflix. Wow! Good movie, but don't watch it if you don't like a lot of violence and hedonistic sickness. But the story was really great. Brought to mind movies like Blade Runner and Babylon A.D. Good futuristic tale. Oh, and guess what, Jo, our favorite guy, Michael C. Hall, was in it. He did a good job in the role he played.
Karen
I just heard MC Hall is divorcing his wife who plays his sister on Dexter.
What?!!!!! What a bummer! I did know his wife played his sister on the show. I like her, and I love her character, so I hope they don't bump her off somehow.
Karen
ouch feel better Sherrie
I just watched the worst ever holiday show.
Thomas Kinkaode Christmas Cottage.
The writters must think we are all four years old.
I saw Sherlock Holmes on Saturday, my husband has been trying to get me to watch it for a while and I kept saying I'm not a fan...glad I finally gave in I liked it a lot!! Robert Downey was very good and not to hard to look at either!!
Karen I want to see Narnia, hopefully over the Holiday week...would you recommend it for young ones, 3 and 5?
Lovin all the holiday movies, didn't see the Christmas Cottage one so now I'll pass.
Watched "20th Century" with John Barrymore and Carol Lombard this evening, - very good, got it from the library.
I used to love old B&W's with modern special effects and faster moving and complicated plots its hard to watch a movie you know how it ends and can figure it out from the beginning.
Ronnie, I've been wanting to see Sherlock Holmes myself. Wanted to see it at the theater, but didn't get a chance. Will have to catch it on DVD through Netflix. The new Narnia had some frightening scenes, so they younger ones might get scared, but just depends on if they scare easily.
Jo, then you wouldn't like Gamer. Lots of fast moving scenes in that one, and sometimes hard to follow. I had to turn my volume up, as they spoke so quietly in some scenes. Then the action scenes were so darn loud! Hate when they do that.
Last night I watched Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams. Hadn't seen it in years, and I had forgotten how good it was. That was a quiet film, but very good story. I just loved it. One of my favorites.
Karen
I love the british mystery series but when they come from areas that have local dialects I have to use subtitles where they are allowed.
I also use subtitles for films that are soft spoken.
Good idea, Jo, though when I watch the instant play movies on Netflix I watch them on my computer, and I don't think I can get subtitles then. Sure wish I could get a WII console so I could watch them on the TV. Would be a bigger screen.
Karen
I need the TV screen . Computer screen is too small.
Know what you mean.
Karen
Finally saw Despicable Me...too funny!
Oh, I loved Despicable Me! I saw it twice.
Karen
Thanks Karen, probably too much for the 3 year old...oh well just have to go without them LOL!
Actor Steve Landesberg from Barney Miller just passed away
He was a favorite...too young.
Oh no - he was great!
I loved that show, which character did he play? my bad
Dietrich.
He was the only "Barney Miller" character who wore glasses, with a very dry, acerbic wit.
He had great comic timing!
got it! Thanks BA
Timeing is everything.
Comics now days sem to rely on "potty " jokes.
