I was in Santiago in the late 80s. Military men with machine guns were on every street corner. Even so, Chile was one of my all time top 3 vacations.
Another great vacation, and bringing us back to entertainment, was Alaska. When I was there I saw an animal that I was never able to identify. The other night Jack was channel surfing and landed on an animal show. Finally, years later, after watching an animal show, I got the ID on that animal. It was a wolverine!
That's Entertainment!! Part 5
I had to go to Wikipedia.org a few years ago, after hearing "wolverines" mentioned on a nature channel, because I was clueless.
They look more like badgers, kind of.
PuertaVillarta was where I saw guns and guards in the parking lot and around the pool.
There were Jaguares that came out of the jungle to drink from the stream that flower thru the lobby and to the beach.
Badgers and Wolverines are nothing to play with
I saw lots of guns in the Bronx.
Yeah and I think they get them in Philly!!
They have bigger ones now in Manhattan.
WC, thanks for the info on DVD drives. Do not install my own hardware, though, so will probably get one at Best Buy and have them do it. I need to take it in soon and have them clean it out and do a system check, get rid of programs that are taking up space that I don't need, and get rid of any spyware, malware, viruses, etc. that may have taken up residence in my computer.
Staying away from NYC.
JoAnne, that must have been cool to see the jaguars.
Recording that show on the History channel now about Christmas.

I didnt see the jaguares. I was told that was what the men with guns was all about.

Hey - I like skanks!

I've been wanting to see that one.

You're right, Sherrie, it's a type that grows in the humid rainforests of South America. In an isolated area of cloud forest in the Sierra Mazateca region of Oaxaca, Mexico, to be exact, preferring shady, moist conditions.

Went to the movies last night and saw Unstoppable....very good movie...and filmed right here in Pa!!!!
I saw that movie, too, and I loved it. Didn't know it was still playing. Denzel Washington is such a good actor in most everything he's been in.

I heard that this AM. Made some good movies.
88 is a long life.
As Mel Brooks says when someone died at a nice old age, 'he was asking for it!'
LOL so true.
He did make some really great movies.Married a nice lady too.
Ugh, hope it goes away faster than 2 weeks, - Feel better! ☺
I know someone that happened to, much smaller than an orange...it healed like a regular bruise.
I hope you have a really light schedule for the next 48 hrs.
Seek medical help if it gets worse ( I can't believe I typed that, I never go).
I have had muscle sprains, an ankle for instance, when stepping downnn onto the cement and my foot rolled to the side. The pain was EXCRUCIATING and I thought I broke a bone.
Just 2-3 days later, the pain was reduced by 50%, and gone in 7 days.
Good Luck !!!
edit: Since this an "Entertainment" thread, sit back and watch some great TV or whatever!

Sounds like you may have cracked a rib Sherrie....Brian has done before.
Sherrie, I hope you feel better soon. I was sick since Friday night with the stomach virus that's been going around. Finally feeling mostly back to normal today, but don't have much of an appetite. Had no appetite yesterday. All I had all day was a cup of chicken noodle soup.
BA, when I was about 11 or 12 I rolled my foot upon stepping down, and not on cement, either, and I ended up chipping a bone in my foot. Had to wear a cast for 2 weeks.
I saw the new Narnia movie this past week. Very good!

Since this is the entertainment thread I will just poke in and say I am watching Pillars of the Earth.
First disc os confusing .12th Century England, church is corrupt, monarchy is corrupt and poisoning right and left.
I hope the millange of characters gets straightened out before the disc is done.
Sounds interesting, Jo. Hope it gets good for you. I think I will watch something on Netflix today. Gamer, a sci-fi thriller, looks good, but I also thought of watching The Boy Who Could Fly. I've seen it before and really liked it.
Karen
Netflix saves my life.
