Sports Talk!! Part 5

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm waiting for the Yankee Lee signing. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Could happen although i would not be surprised if he stays with Texas

New Boston, NH

Yes,Mangini he mentored the guy and then had it stuck to him.One would think if he objected to the common practice of videoing defenses (whatever) he would tell him rather than make a spectical. However I believe he shook his hand when Cleveland beat the Pats a couple of weeks ago.At any rate he has little time or room for harboring resentments.I learned long ago that does nothing but destroy your serenity. There is alot of truth in the saying,"Good losers are losers".

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Had a good marketing idea. If your kid goes to U. of Indiana - t-shirts, signs, bumper stickers, etc., that would read, 'Hoosier Daddy!'.

New Boston, NH

Victor that might work as it is now their friends ask is he your grandfather?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Good one Victor!! I think that would be a cash cow.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - thanks.

Thomaston, CT

Watched the Uconn girls get closer to the record last night....they'll tie it with their next win....I think they're for a battle, though....Ohio State is ranked, & they won't play until after exams. That's a long layoff.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Akron U. beat Louisville to win their first national championship in soccer today. Fear the Roo!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh - Jets lost to the lowly Dolphins.

South Hamilton, MA

Packers lost game plus their quarterback.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

jets qb is not that good

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ouch! Maybe he needs Jessica???

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i would not recommend THAT:)

heading for the pillow - hope the boys win - the 5 am wake up call is brutal

Thomaston, CT

I agree with that, Bill....I have to rise at 6 when I'm working, not used to it anymore.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm hoping the Jets fire that idiot coach who tripped the Dolphin player. Also hope the league goes after him with both barrels. He should be banned from the game.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

One of the best things about living on the west coast is that you never have to decide between watching the end of a sporting event and being exhausted the next day.

The Patriots looked great yesterday.

South Hamilton, MA

Agree about the coach. If they are doing a job, they shouldn't give in to impuses. He has apologised but that isn't the point.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

apologised? he clearly knew what he was doing - fire him and fine the team - win at all costs is alive and well

cowboys lost a tough one.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Shades of Woody Hayes.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

yup was going to make the same comment

Thomaston, CT

Didn't realize the coach tripped him on purpose!

South Hamilton, MA

If you see the video on google --news--sports they have it highlighted.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cannot believe the dang Phils landed Lee! I first heard the rumors last evening. What a staff!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Jets only suspended that moron for the rest of the year. Slap on the wrist.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i bet you are not happy about Lee - mets have a tough road now

surprised about the suspension as well - should be out on his ass

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, it's the Phils' to lose now.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

With Lee going to the Phillies, the Yankees are really in trouble. Outside of Sabathia and Hughes I'd be really worried about the starting rotation if I were a Yankee fan. Thankfully I'm not cursed with such an affliction. ^_^

Thomaston, CT

Oh, no! Can't believe he went to the Phillies....the Mets better get moving on someone decent!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm writing off next season.

Thomaston, CT

I'm hopeful...but then, they haven't started to play yet!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

need to be positive

Thomaston, CT

Yep....sometimes they are positively awful!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee! They are really tied up in terms of money for free agents. They will be in a much better position after this season.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller died yesterday. He was 92 and played all his seasons for the Cleveland Indians.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, the paper said he was active until recently....he had a long life, and he said he was blessed.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

He always did appearances for the Indians. He was really nice, met him a couple of times. He had been battling pneumonia recently. He always had a smile for the kids.

Thomaston, CT

Nice to hear that!

New Boston, NH

This coach for the Jets looks like everbody is after him now.Being a man for the underdog ,I think he perhaps had an ego problem which has been adjusted now and since he is obviously good at what he does ,put this behind him not ruin his life.

South Hamilton, MA

I saw bob Feller pitch during an exhibition game in Milwaukee when the Braves were still there. I don't remember too much as I was in high school. But I guess that he only pitched a couple innings but I was excited as I knew about him.
