Not yet, but might get the oven going to take off the chill. Don't know what to cook yet though.
Today's Weather in your Garden -79
Tempted but not yet, soon though it will be necessary because my mom will complain if it is too chilly during the daytime. Cloudy damp days are not helping at all.
I always try to get wait at least until Oct 15th.
cold here too. tempted to turn heat on, calling for 70 on thurs, so i'll wait.
Pouring here!
Started raining again because I am heading out to pick my son up from school
Of course!
off & on rain through Wed. We have decided to go to the topsfield fair on thurs instead. RCMP musical ride & exhibition of Fresian horses.
We've had 0.15 inch here today. 52 and raw. High was only 55.
.09" overnight thru past hour
Fresian horse exhibition should be nice.
59°
My heat was on yesterday morning...did you not see my post? I stated "heat is on" because my kiesta was frozen!!
This morning it was in the 40's so a fire in the fireplace was enough. ;)

Another downpour.
I hear you, Pixie! Some parts of southern CT had 11/2" hail this afternoon...thought I heard thunder when I was walking Suey, & I'm like Nah....tooo cold for thunder...guess not.
Celeste - thanks for watching my back for me!! LOL
Victor - my son was at the Army game with you. We went down to Conn. to take care of his dog and do some projects we wanted to do. Looks like you did have a really nice day for the game.
Sure is chilly up here, and yes, I'm afraid our heat is on....but set at 60. I do like the cool nights for sleeping, but it was rainy here when I got up this morning. It isn't supposed to get out of the 60s for the next week. Ok with me! But all of our leaves came down in the deluge. We've lost power every day for at least a bit.
Nice! Hope he had a good time. We tailgated with the wrestling team.
When is the journey south?
Too soon - I'm freaking out! Woke up a stress-bucket. Too many competing things on the calendar each day....need some days I can sink my teeth into!
Marilyn - how did DS do on his birthday? You made a good call in not going out in that weather. WE had to postpone dinner plans down in Mass. because of the heavy rain. Good call for us too......we all got together the next day for lunch instead.
I could have gone, because, while windy, the rain didn't materialize until much later....we celebrated here yesterday...Garret was kind of stressed.....had to meet with his 2 year old son's neurologist today....Grant has a cyst on his brain, but the doctor isn't too concerned about it...he does have some developmental problems, but that's common for children who have severe problems at birth.
Oh Dear! Thoughts and prayers for Grant, his folks and Grammy! Will they do surgery?
yes best thoughts & prayers RD
Yes, same here, Marilyn.
Another nasty, raw day. 53 and gray.
rut roh
Perfect day to sleep in but of course I couldn't, Tuesdays are when I have to drive my son to school
53° and misty, high of 61° today, overnight total of .15" rain
Tempted to start up the pellet stove!
rained pretty hard for most of the ride to work - hoping it makes it way north to my home.
Just got home from MVD.....crazy place early morn, but only time Garret could meet there...I transferred Doug's truck to him, you would think we were trying to buy the Taj Mahal....thanks everyone for your good thoughts & prayers....nothing will be done about the cyst except monitoring....hopefully as he matures, some of his problems will resolve...just have to wait & see.......drizzly & 50s here....won't see the sun for awhile....
58°, wind NE 12, Rh 89%, rain /mist
nice & warm indoors
Heat on, WC? MY wife was complaining!
Mine was complaining too, but it only kicked in twice yesterday, keeping it at 71°. (for now..)
We keep indoor temp at high 60s. Sweatshirts are where I can reach them.
WC, Oh my gosh !!!! you keep your heat at 71?????
Too low?? Gee, I go as low as 68° when it gets really cold, but usually at this time of the year I keep it at 70-71. This weather is wet - 'mushy' type of weather, too damp, like to dry out a bit indoors, cant afford to catch a cold now and have it for the rest of the winter! - it's too early! lol!
- later it'll get dryier, then I'll go to 68-69°.. ☺
No, too high. ya 68 probably norm for inside heat
When I used to use the 'regular' heat, I would set it to 67. Now, with the pellet stove, the house is warmer AND I save money.
That type of heat is too dry for me, my forced air is hooked up to a humidifier.
I use humidifiers.
Hard rain very early this am as Bill said. Chilly raw light rain/drizzle off and on now. Present temp is 55 with the NE wind that keeps it yucky this time of year. At least it isn't that other kind of nor'easter yet.
Robin, best wishes for Garret and Grant and family. Hope all goes well in the future for them.
Victor that link is pretty depressing isn't it. Hope the same isn't true for this area this winter, I was hoping for a nice short snow season this year with another early spring.
I just caved and turned on the pellet stove! Just want to get the chill out and then I'll turn it off. Came up from the basement all sweaty from my workout and almost froze.
wimp!!!... I am still holding out
