Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

82°, wind SW 10, Rh 52%, hazy sun
Going down to 55 tonight, just a touch of 'Indian Summer'?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That should be Native American Summer!! ^_^

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Good point! ... unless they have Indian Summer in India, then things will get complicated. (lol)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Possibly - just ask the next time you call customer service!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I'll call Citibank right now... (lol!)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Love how they use these fake, American-sounding names and accents. 'Hi, this is Biff, how may I provide outstanding service for you today?!'

Guess it depends on the luck of the draw, I always get to play catch-up with them, takes me 30 sec to figure out what the last sentence was.

Today (Saturday) should be the last day in the 80's for the year in this location.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It hit 88 here. Looking at next 3 days of rain

Thomaston, CT

It was in the high 80s here as well.......just came in from sitting on the back porch....huge dragonflies were zipping around the yard......can't believe it's almost dark right now! This time of the year depresses me......6 birthdays in the next few weeks.....celebrating most of them next Sunday here....no one else ever volunteers!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Whoa - sounds like quite a celebration, Marilyn! Enjoy!

I think today was our last warm day as well, if the morning news is correct. I like the cooler days once the trees get so colorful. It is really looking like fall here with so many leaves covering part of the driveway!

In the high 50s here now. It was a good day to do some real "bull work", as Hank calls it. We cleared 17 years worth of those orange ditch lilies from behind our stone wall at the Pit where we all gathered during our RU. It was tough work, and I'll bet we'll see tons of those buggers come back up anyway in the spring. We moved 17 of my DLs into the "new" garden, and I can't wait to see the color there next summer. I'm also putting more spring flowers/bulbs and fall flowers in that garden so it will be more of a 3-season garden than it is now. We are both bone tired tonight, but we did get it done in time for the rain that is supposed to come in soon and last a couple of days. Bill's birdhouse artwork will be the front and center feature in the new garden, come spring. It has been placed in Cuppatea and will be under lock and key for the winter! Too precious to leave outside!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow, that's a lot of work.

mid 60s here. Good weeding weather--had enough time to get some done even after watching a football game. We are weeding one of our more difficult iris beds as it is the widest one we have and on a slope. Still have some corners of it to do.
