Daily Bird Pics, Vol.344

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Here's a new opportunity to add more of your favorite bird pics. Everyone is welcome here, so let's all share.

A lot of beautiful pictures has been posted on our last thread, If you would like to go back to see them use this link. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1126822/

I will start off with one I haven't seen since Spring. This White-throated Sparrow will be here only a short time, enough to refuel for his migration trip south.

Another shot of the same Blue Jay, I've posted on the previous thread.

Nice way to start the new thread Burn! Haven't seen the White-throated Sparrow since the middle of May up here...but soon they will be coming back to the marsh and they spend the whole winter there. Won't be long and the Junco's will be coming back also.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

burn, nice start to the new thread. Next time you try, point your tip of your tongue out the left corner of your mouth, bite down very gently and you'll have no problem. If you're left handed, tongue out the right corner. :-)

It's been a long time since I last saw a W-t Sparrow, too, Burd. Still got a few Blue Jays around. Come to think of it, I haven't seen a Robin in a spell, either.

Juvenile House Sparrow...the immature Cooper's Hawk has been doing a number on them lately...but when the Starlings show up it won't be so bad. Grackle's have been gone for 2 weeks now. Last

Burn, Thanks for starting the new thread! Lovely pics!

Burd, Nice pics! I have had the same situation here with the Grackles but there have been lots of Blue Jays which means lots of noise.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Burn thanks for the new thread. Your jay is just full of personality and the sparrow shots are so cute. Love that juvie Robin.

Burd, very cute photos, I especially liked the crow and HOSP juvies.

Here's one of the juvie House Finches that are enjoying the food and birdbath every day.

Oh oh, my neighbor is going to be unhappy knowing that the orioles aren't the only ones that are enjoying the apples on his trees.

I can't keep track of how many Oak Titmice we now have, but there's a lot of them.

duc, love that apple-stealing bird shot! Great picture!

Wonderful pics duc! Love the Goldfinch!

Bella Vista, AR(Zone 6b)

It's still summer-like here. The hummers have been really swarming.

Beautiful shot Julie!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Glad you have your flag out today, it looks nice with your cute hummer Julie.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Just amazing photos.

Julie, great shot. Lots of hummers here but they are fighting and not swarming at all!

Duc, love that picture in the apples. Wow. That tufted titmouse is really a nice one too.

Burn, beautiful start. I'm so jealous of your white-throated sparrow sighting.

Burd, love the goldfinch.

I've been trying to get a good photo of the juvie male Baltimore oriole, but no luck. Got this one yesterday of the female.

Cut off the tail on this house finch, but I like it anyway.

I was trying to take a pic of a chickadee this morning and I remembered this pic from last week. Forgot to share it and it's probably the best pic that I've ever taken of a chickadee, so I'm sharing it now!

That is a great shot Elphaba. They are so cute. It looks inquisitive about something.

Melbourne, FL

I did not see much while out yesterday. I did catch this Mockingbird singing in the early morning light.

I have been seeing quite a few Grackles minus their tail feathers.

Nice shots Elphaba! Love the female Oriole!

Good shots GP!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Elphaba, great pictures of your oriole and finch. I can see why you liked that one of the chickadee-cute pose on that one.

GP, cute mocker and grackle-hope it grows some tail feathers soon.

Here's one of my male Brewer's Blackbirds.

Here's one from last week, a juvie oriole trying to figure out how to balance itself.

This is the only photo I have to show the difference in colors on these juvie orioles. I wonder if the lighter one will get darker as it should later on? I don't remember ever seeing one like this.

This Turkey Vulture was flying by the feeder box and I was surprised it got so close and yet the smaller birds didn't fly away to safety. Wonder how the little ones can tell the difference between the vultures and the hawks flying over them?

Nice shots, love those young Orioles. Hope I see some this winter. I assume this is a House Sparrow next to the White winged Dove.

Burd_Fotos - WOW, your capture of the Goldfinch is super.

ducbucln - I enjoyed your pics, but the Oak Titmice is my favorite. AND the Turkey Vulture pic was outstanding

JulieQ - I really like the way you used the flag as the background for the hummer shoot - neato.

Elphaba - I fully agree that pic of the chickadee is one of the best I've seen.

gardenpom - how unusual, the color of the belly of the mocker in the early morning light was really pretty. AND I think that is a female HOSP, but what caught my eye was that White winged Dove - nice.

nanny_56 - I liked the pic of the Male Eastern Towhee. I haven't seen any Towhees in a while.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

I snapped a few today.

Brown Thrasher that wouldn't turn around for me.
