Its not the same on here without Haystack

Ferndale, WA

No LFJ He doesn't, but we are going to get him tomorrow and bring him home. I will then show him the comments of all the well wishers, whick I know will lift his spirits, and then last but not least I'll let him know I have been trying to get rid of him...LOL. He is not my own son but rather my wifes, but to me there all mine and I look after them as though they were. The little boy I'm playing with isn't mine either, he is my wife's bosse's child who we care for free of charge cause we both love the children. I swear it keeps me going, I'm weird, I just think people and birds are the greatest thing going...my only regrets is that my meager income doesn't allow me to adopt more. OH what a party...LOL.Hay

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

You and your's are always in my prayers Haystack. You are such a love. :)
I'm back to bug you and tease you about my silkie roo you said would be laying soon. LOL

(Zone 6b)

I know what you mean Hay, I'm always thinking about my new chicken barn that may never be built. For me, my life is always "someday" dreaming. lol

I thought that son looked more like your wife than you, and I guess I was right. Tell him he's a very handsome fellow and we all enjoyed seeing his picture, that he wasn't aware was spread across the internet to all FIFTY STATES and perhaps a few foreign countries too. Maybe we can find some lady to adopt him. We could list him on birdbid or featherauction. You never know. Miracles do happen. We've adopted out many from here. :)

Remember that duck a few years ago that didn't have a home? Before it was over he had a great home with a pool, so there is hope for this young man of yours.

Tell him to get well soon. Our prayers have gone out to him.

Ferndale, WA

Oh ZZs, I'm so glad your back. I know facebook has some great features, but we really need you here. Please tell s/he is laying...LOL...I'm so tired of being wrong...OK lets talk about odds, the odds are I'm usually wrong so what would a smart person do, Yep bet against me...LOL...Hay

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I was givin you a bad time about Chuckie Haystack! Remember the Red Silkie Roo I threatened to send to you? LOL

I'm glad to be back too. ;) Thanks for the "gentle reminder" too. ;)

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Hay, I know what you mean about the kids. they do keep you young. A good many months back you told us one of your DGS was moving in with you. Really cute lil guy. Is he still with you? I have often wondered about him. He was as cute as a speckled pup. So glad your son is doing better. No such thing as "step" to the heart or to God. The concept doesn't exist in our family.

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

Cajun, I have been wondering the same thing. Whatever happened to him? I'm assuming that the move didn't occur or you would be mentioning him. He was definitely a cutie.

Ferndale, WA

He is a treasured little boy and I miss him terribly. Unfortunately with grand and greatgrand children you don't have as much say as you like. He is living with his father, but I must say his grandparents on his fathers side are wonderful, wonderful people and they love him as much as we do, there for I'm pleased that he is being well cared for and I will always love him and have fun with him as the opportunity presents itself. I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful friends like yourselves that would take the time to ask. Yes Cajun you are dead on. There are no steps around here either. P.S. I'm so glad to tell you our Son is home tonight and the pathology reports are negative, the removal of the kidney removed all signs of the cancer and they will do tests once a month for six months and if nothing shows up he will be considered a total clean bill of health....Thank your for your loving prayers and support...Hay

Praise God!!!

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

Hay, what wonderful news about your son! You all must be over the moon with joy. Here's hoping of that clean bill of health in six months; definitely something to look forward to!

I'm so sorry about that little guy. At least you know that his grandparents are watching out for him. Do you get to see him at all?

Bridgewater, ME

Thank You God for that good report.

(Zone 6b)

It would probably really benefit him to have a juicer and juice organic vegetables. Add some frozen fruit and put it in a blender, or whatever he needs to do to take it.

As someone with lupus that almost died about 20 years ago, I can say in a nutshell what I was told at the healthfood store, and what saved my life.

No white sugar, no caffeine, no sandwich meat like bologna and hot dogs (nitrates and nitrites are poison), no white flour, no fried foods, no artificial preservatives or colors, no margarine (butter is better), no canned food (because the cans leech toxins from the metals).

Eat 6 or 7 different vegetables each day, 1/2 to 1 cup each, potatoes and corn do not count, preferably raw or juiced, but cooked is acceptable.

Drink distilled water. (I drink bottled spring water with fresh lemon or lime squeezed in it, but I'm sure they are correct about the distilled.) Have you read or seen the new videos on how dangerous fluoride is? Absolutely shocking!

I know we can't eat perfectly every day, but it's worth the effort to try.

It took me several years to detox my body to the point I had no pain to speak of. Believe me I was one sick puppy when I started out. Doing most of what they said, I did get better.

I so want to make some political remarks about our government here, but will refrain. I'll just say two words, "Operation Paperclip".

Wonderful News Mr Haystack...

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Great news!!!

Ferndale, WA

Well LFJ, it just so happens that we do have a Vita Mix which we love. Its the only machine I have seen that will turn raspberry seeds to pulp. We use it and make all of our own juices, and slurpies. We even put carrots and certain peppers in our slurpies. It's amazing the great concoctions you can create, We also make our own ice cream out of berries and ice, no sugar, no cream, just berries and ice. Fresh berries are wonderful. The Vita mix is a wonderful machine and lots of fun to explore with...Hay

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!! So happy for your son and your family. Sorry about the little guy. I know you must miss him. I miss my DGSs so much. I was watching a video last night of our Christmas '04. Just DH, myself, DD and Knock. He was such a little guy then. It is a tradition in our family that DH reads the Christmas story before opening gifts. As he read, Knock would repeat each sentence. He was helping Paw read. When he said they went to the stable with "paste" we all had to hide our faces and laugh.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I'm so happy for you Haystack! Congratulations on such great news!
Funny, when Krystal was 4 she made a deal with Cody's dad and shook hands on it... "no steps, promise to be real" She was learning why people "shook on it" :)

OMG Cajun that is sooo cute!!

Ferndale, WA

Speaking of Crystal how is she doing and Cody as well? I love that name Cody. It always sounds so masculine and solid...

I love those stories Cajun, what would we do without children...I know it's a fantasy but I always thought I'd love to work in an orphanage...I'd go crazy, but what a great trip...LOL. Haystack

Wonderful, wonderful news for your family, Hay!! Thank God!! I'm so happy for all of you! The Holidays will be extra special for you this year!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

They are both doing well Haystack.. Thank you for asking. :)

We have a lot to be thankful for this year!

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

Why Mr. Haystack I went & got engaged thus gaining 4 beautiful wonderful kids in the process. 1 yr old boy, 3 yr old girl, 6 yr old girl & 9 yr old boy. Its been a long, fun, wild 2 months. We've had full custody for 2.5 months now. Trying to buy the house next door to my mom so i can take care of her as well as the kids & what's left of my chickens. If all goes well we are getting married in December if not.. sometime after the first of the year. Lost most of my chickens to foxes in June so i kinda just.. backed off of here. Was too depressed about it to read all your wonderful chicken stories & didn't want to end up just whining about it on here. Missed my babies too much. I've got 20 left. Mostly teenagers that are just starting to lay eggs. (finally!) I get a chance to read posts but I don't always have time to reply to them. Same with Facebook. I might be able to catch a few things here & there every couple days but keeping up with work & two toddlers keeps me pretty busy. Miss you tho. Glad to hear your son is doing well!

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

Greykyttyn, are those the kids you've been talking about all along? Congratulations on having such a wonderful ready-made family! I'm sure you've had your hands full, but how lovely! Sorry to hear about the foxes, but it sounds like you've had more than enough on your plate without the extra chickens. And I'm sure the kids are enjoying the ones who are still there, and laying.

Ferndale, WA

Well Congratulations to you my dear, I'm so happy for you. I know the children will be much better off with you in their life...I also know they will keep you busy, so no need to apologize for being busy, just remember we love you and support your future with our prayers...Haystack

Dahlianut's Diet Tip for the Day: Sprinkles are extra vitamins (munch, munch, munchin on a cupcake with sprinkles)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Gray Congratulations

Richmond, TX

I probably need some of those vitamins; I seem to be lacking in ambition today.

Ferndale, WA

I love that pic, It reminds me of a song by Sonny James (Young Love) OK so some of you are too young to remember the song...LOL...Hay

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

How wonderful Gray

MissJ cute pic

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

O MissJ! I have been trying so hard to get a pic of our 3 yr old & the little 5 yr old boy next door walking hand in hand. Aren't they so adorable to watch! The boy comes up to Kbug & asks very politely to hold her hand so he can keep her safe. He always hugs her when she gets there & when she leaves, tells her to have a wonderful evening. He's such a little charmer.

(hiding out at work & checking this while the baby is dismantling my calculator) :o)

Thank you everyone! Its been hard but i wouldn't give one of those kids up for the world (or their Daddy :o) ) I love having them around. I hate the weekends they are gone to mama's bc its too quiet & the house is too perfect. I find myself lost with nothing to do without them underfoot 12 hrs a day.

IF we get the house we are looking at buying next door there is a great shed for making a semi large chicken coop. Will definitely need advice on how to design a coop in it!

Mr. Haystack I have heard the song before & i think i'm one of the youngest ones here... :)

Ferndale, WA

It's a wonderful song for people like you and your Mr. Right. It's also a wonderful song for my friend Billy Bob and his little miss...Hay

Richmond, TX

Ah, so you sing to your chickens?
