Haystack! Welcome back! I have missed my sparring partner.
Its not the same on here without Haystack
Thanks Porkpal, to say I missed you also would be an understatement. I was going to get some rest tonight but here I am trying to catch up. Thanks again...Hay
Yaaaaay!!! Haaaaay!!! Our Haystack is back!
Glad that you won your battle. Still more glad to see you back here at the forum.
Thanks Eufaula, it's really good to be back.
Thanks NewYorkRita, and it's truly my pleasure to meet you. I have already been reading your post and comments. Glad your here...Hay
Welcome home Haystack ^_^
I have gotten chicken crazy. I wish I lived way out in the country :-((
Good to see you back. You're not really moving away from WA, are you?
Welcome home, it's great to see you again!
Hi Dnut, thank you so much. It is really good to be home.
Gwen: it's been a long time. Hope all is well with you. Don't know yet if I'm moving but I'm really sick of the political climate of Wa., along with the taxes. We have the worst politicians in Fifty states...Yuk, Yuk, Yuk...Hay
So glad you are back.
:) welcome back Haystack!
Just found this thread. Didn't know Hay was gone, but welcome back.
People are disappearing all over around here. Kathleen just left yesterday. Has other interests she said.
I found her on another site I will not participate in.
I like DG & have been here forever & intend to stay.
We are working on our chicken barn. We have an old double corn crib we have converted for chickens. The 2 grain bins were made into a nursery last year. it only holds 100 & we are getting 300 chicks this year. We have 20 baby Americanas in the small room right now.
The old corn area will be the room for the 300 chicks. We are sheeting it & insulating it.
When we get done our chickens will have all kinds of comfort!
Bernie
Sounds like a chicken mansion!
Demand for farm fresh eggs is high!
Sounds grand.
Kathleen has a nice site. I enjoy keeping up with her farming.
I just got my computer back from the shop it had a virus and I was without it for a day and a half,so no dg fix,I can`t imagine being without dg for very long, this place is addictive, poor Haysatck it must have been awful for him LOL

Welcome back, Hay! Good to see you again. I'm also glad to know that you're still in beautiful Washington. We are in France right now and I'm writing on my iPad, which is not the easiest way to communicate. But I'm glad you prevailed over your evil Internet provider and have found your way back here!
I get confused with the names on FB too!
Greenhouse_gal: How could you go to France without me? (sobbing) Just Sobbing. I will expect a full report when you get back.
Thanks to all of you it's so good to be back, and yes Donna it was terrible not to be able to get my DG fix...
Bernie I think what your doing is wonderful, I wish you every success and I really enjoy the updates you give us on what your doing. Pic's are expected of course...Hay
Haystack did you see my silkies I took to the fair in Amarillo?
That was so fun. They are having a big show in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Dec 11 and 12, but not sure I can attend. 4500 birds, it would be something to see for sure. They also have auctions at that time.
No I did not see them, where do I find them? So good to talk to you again my dear...Hay

Just scroll down for the pictures. I was so happy to have some nice silkies. Remember how I said I wanted them? Well, I paid for them, but I got some. :D
Here is the video of my rooster, the voice is my little grandson: http://www.youtube.com/user/Light4Jesus#p/a/u/2/2S_JK5QUlRk
The hen: http://www.youtube.com/user/Light4Jesus#p/a/u/1/SwpZh5yL4hQ
The splash rooster: http://www.youtube.com/user/Light4Jesus#p/u/3/0FQngONTc1U
Thanks for asking Haystack. :) Nice of you.
Now you better say you like them!
Those don't look like real chickens. I like the splash best.
The splash needs a wife. He's supposed to be one of George Mihalik's line.
His name is Laredo.
The whites are Pierre and FeFe, because they looked like fluffy French poodles.
LOL
Well just for your information LFJ, I loved the pic's and videos. Further more I am so proud of you. I'm so glad your having such a great time with your feathered family. I can tell you my greatest pleasure is in seeing the smiles and hearing the reports from my customers on how much they love the Seramas they purchase here. Many of my customers have begun requesting for me to build their pens for them after they see my own. I am having a total blast just hearing back from the customers. Most of them have become friends and send me pic's of their birds. It's such a wonderful hobby and I am so glad for you my dear friend. Keep up the great work...Hay
That is a gorgeous little bird. Is that a Serama?
I have a friend who has the meanest little rooster at his barn. It's white but smaller and shaped different than any bantam I have ever seen. It holds it's head arched back like a horse and it's tail is set up over it's back. Could that be a serama?
Yes the pic is a serama hen, she is an absolute blast. Loves to talk in my ear...
Yes Cajun it could very well be a serama roo. Most generally the chest is out beyond the head and the tail very close to or even touching the back of the head. I will see if I have a pic for you to post... Here is a pic of one of my serama roosters at one and a 1/4lb
That is the way he is shaped but he is white.
Haystack my little Seramas are all grown up now! It seems as if they were just hatched. I traded away my 3 little roos for a new trio of baby boys, Im hoping to get a new line started this spring! I was actually a little dissappointed in the size of my new little guys though and their stance, they seem not to have the straight upright like my little guys did.
Heres the smallest of the crew"Carrot" trying to crow.
Great pic's Eufaula: I also have picked up a new pair and that will give me new blood and genes to work with for some time to come. Eufaula before you trade be sure you see the parents of the babies so you don't end up with birds of less quality of what you already have. Not everyone it honest...I always demand to see the parents first...Hay
Wow Eufaula! Those are some really pretty Seramas! You gotta be careful trading for sure.. Haystack is so right.. Not everyone out there is honest.
I love Serama pics..
Thanks Hay and ZZ!! Yep Im pretty happy with the babies that came from my Mom and pop Seramas , their stances and size were pretty good! The new fellas just do not seem to be as small and look to have a longer back , NO straight up tail!! Oh well I ca alway start over! I did get two tiny 3 week old Pullets yesterday, all White. The gentleman I bought them from showed me the parent birds ... but we will see! Photos this afternoon!
HAPP HAYSTACK dance... Yep I hollered it cause I am so happy I can Shout it from the rooftops... WHOOO HOOOOO
Mr. Haystack, please read the following link, it is because of you too that Billy and I are who we are...
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1129689/#new
I did read the link, I adore those pic's and am beyond grateful for you Billy Bob. The very truth is you and Billy are both who you are because of God's Grace. I honestly believe God's goodness is seen in the beautiful people of this forum and how he has seen fit to put us all together for the enrichment of all. It is impossible for me to put into words what each one on this forum has meant to me one time or another. It took a comment from ZZ's to stop me in my tracks and remind me of God's Grace. I dare say we all think a little different but having said that all of you have in a very powerful way changed my life for the better. Even when ZZ's once got a little miffed with me, I heard her and still knew our deep and mutual feelings and respect for one another would get up beyond that. Those are the type of connections I never want to break and in that sense we rise and fall together. Thank you Roseane and Billy Bob for your love, I hope you can feel it coming back to you twofold...Hay
