Today's Weather in your Garden -78
I love the cool nights! I sleep much better! Today was a bit cool for eating out on our back porch. I think I will have to change my menu for Sunday's company....not really summer salad & fruit weather anymore. I'm thinking chili with all my tomatoes! The kidney beans are soaking as we speak. I'm thinking Brunswick Stew for next Sunday's visitors - neighbors from our Fla. neighborhood foliage peeping up here!
I defrosted some chili tonight as well Louise ... that little chill in the air did it... will be soup time soon
Very nice pic for September Pixie!
63° going down to 55° tonight, slight breeze, partly cloudy
Glad the girls liked the Jade beans, Louise....I enjoyed them as well. Sunny this morning, but still chilly....am heading up to the farm to babysit.....
Yes, Celeste, that shot is one to consider for the photo contest.
63° How come that it is considered cool now, & warm in the spring.
(- It's a matter of perspective, lol)
69°, wind NNW 9mph, Rh 48%, sunny
- predicted high for today here, is 74°.
Reached 75 here, 70 at the farm.....stayed outside with the girls for quite awhile.
77° for the high here today.
Fantastic day! Just back from a family picnic. Hopefully, we will have the same kind of day for the second one next Saturday. Was chilly in the AM near the shore, but warmed up nicely.
Cloudy and cool this morning, showers are on the way later on.
'Red sky in morning, sailors warning
Red sky at night, sailors delight'
Mostly cloudy.Temp is 57 degrees and the wind is very light from the north. Chance of rain for tonight.
The shortening days are getting quite noticeable now and the cool nights are refreshing and welcome if only they were not a step closer to the end of another garden season. So I will enjoy the nice days at the end of summer but start to dread what will follow.
64°, wind SE 0.3mph, Rh 64%, cloudy
Should warm up here another 5° to 69° for the high, hoping for some rain predicted later this evening.
Cloudy 55 °F
Barometer:30.14 in and steady
Humidity:72 %
Visibility:10 mi
Dewpoint:46 °F
Wind:CALM
Sunrise:6:13 AM
Sunset:6:55 PM
High 64
Low 49
Very cloudy, 59, a thoroughly yucky day for the fair, but I've got to go and pick up my entries....today's paper said over 1,000 adults entered the competitions this year.....can't remember the children's numbers.......anyway, Maria, I totally agree with you on the upcoming seasons!
Ugly day. Cloudy and 64.
mid 60's and sunny. we had rain late yesterday.
EYE-gor is the next hurricane to watch.
Another one may come our way Victor?
Too early to tell, Maria. Igor is still way out in the Atlantic. Category 2 at this point.
Lets hope it will stay cool Victor, usually Hurricanes do not thrive in cold weather
Yes. I hope it stays cool here too! Love autumn.
Spring is a close second for me. More bugs in spring, though. And the pretty colors of spring are spread out over weeks. Fall colors are more concentrated and awesome to me.
Only reached 64 today under a thick overcast. No rain though - bummer.
62 now. Next few days look pretty nice. Tree cutters here Tuesday.
dreary day.....my bil's name is Igor, we told the kids he has a hurricane named after him...we call him Iggy
It's already cat 4.
great day to work in the yard!
That's what I did most of the day, weeding, etching, dead heading. Actually have done that for the last few days because of the nice weather but it gets me very tired now, keep wondering if I can do all that next year, good weather or bad, after all I will be 82 years old next month.
I don't mind any season unless it is extreme weather as in too hot, too cold, too wet, too stormy. What I am trying to say I would not want to live in any kind of place that has any of these all year round.
God bless you, Maria! You're an inspiration!
I had on a long-sleeved shirt, & a vest at the fair, & I wasn't too warm......won a 1st (bird collection) 2nd (pompon dahlias), & a 3rd (annual flower collection).....not as crowded as last year due to the weather...all the folks went yesterday.
Thank you Victor and I was just thinking why am I worried about next year may not even make it.
Robin, good for you to get 1st price plus 2 more to be proud of.
Thanks, Maria....
i say just keep going maria!
Congratulations Robin. We went to the horse show, fun to watch but I am sore from walking in.
Congrats Robin!
Total rain today .28"
yeah for you Robin!!!... rest up Iris
