How horrible. I remember reading about that when it first happened. What a tragedy.
Coffee Break # 44 - Fall is here
I bet I am the oldest member on DG
And one of the happiest, which is more important, in my book!
Even Cartoonist have to becareful what they draw..........

Yes - saw that yesterday. And the FBI is not even protecting her.
I know...they tell her to hide but don't help or protect!
There are certainly many ill & desperate people out there....I only wish the would take themselves, but leave their families alone....totally selfish, killing spouses & children. The first trial of the Cheshire murders is now taking place....it was on the NY news the other night... I left the room, & won't turn on the local news at the beginning....I just can't bear to hear or read about it....enough is enough....
I'm glad that we left cheshire over 30 yrs ago. I would have hated to have my kids exposed to murder happening to fellow schoolmates.
An article yesterday said that 25% of Americans think it's fine to be plugged into the internet during 'relations'. Hmm.
huh?
They are still fiddling with their computers, phones, ipads, etc., when they should be engaged with their partner!

The country is getting weirder by the day. The young people are going to be social misfits.
Noticing some very early color. Anyone else?? Maybe the heat of the summer?
Hating the loss of light!
a couple trees here are already bare
My sugar maple is orange on one side...I really noticed it coming down the road today.....
One maple out of several in my yard has about a 4' circle of reddish. Burning Bush is just starting to fade to red. Some maples in the area are turning but not many. In the 40's last night. Heavy dew. Busy changing plants to different beds.
My specific area is forecasting a high temp of 79 for Wednesday.
Anxious to pull out air conditioners for the season.
At the reunion today, I was on my knee photographing one of the cute little cousins - a two year old boy. He stared at my head for a second and asked, 'What happened to your hair?'!!! I immediately pointed to my wife. It was hilarious. Out of the mouths of babes...
Wow, just read that six people were killed, and others injured, when a church van blew a tire and rolled over on the NYS Thruway near Harriman. How horrible.
wow how terrible
Good morning all - I received a renewal notice and realized that I haven't been on in so long!! Thought I'd say hello!
hello there!!!
Hey Anita!!! How are you?
Ugh - don't know how much more of this I can endure. Just found out the mom of another very close friend fell down stairs on Thu. Has been in a coma since and they may remove her from life support today. To make matter worse, her husband is not doing well with his cancer. Incredible.
I used to like weekends, but this makes three in a row with tragic news.
Victor that is terrible, so sorry for all you've been through.
I didn't hear about the thruway accident and glad my travels back and forth on it are now over for a couple days.
How awful for you Victor, it is sad when one loses relatives and friends. The sad thing is the older we get the more we lose others.
Thanks, ladies. We all have to deal with this from time to time, but to have so much in so little time is numbing.
I got this in a email this morning...made me giggle!!
Hymn #365
This is a hoot, but I suspect the minister didn't appreciate it.
A minister was completing a temperance sermon. With great emphasis he said,
'If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river.'
With even greater emphasis he said, 'And if I had All the wine in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river.'
And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he Said,
'And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river..'
Sermon complete, he sat down.
The song leader stood very cautiously and announced
With a smile, nearly laughing, 'For our closing song,
Let us sing Hymn #365,
'Shall We Gather at the River.'
funny celeste
well as promised i hopped on the elyptical tonight - i may be in gardening shape and hiked that mtn no problem - i am not in elyptical shape - had a cookie left over from the ru as a reward:)
I took a short jog with the puppies today... gets me moving watching them run there little hearts out... can't help but keep running.. they were having a blast
Shockingly, I've been starting to run on the treadmill again. First time was last week when the elliptical lost all tension (have to see what's up with that.) I figured I would try running but, like all the other times, my knee would start killing me after a few minutes. But it didn't! A bit sore afterward, but not terrible. Just did it again today and did 35 minutes!
increase time slowly, Victor. Knees really prefer that.
I will, Lucy. I cannot run at my 'normal' speed. When I go past about 6 mph, it starts to hurt. So I run a bit slower, but further.
Been having problems viewing photos on DG for a few weeks now. It's sporadic, but seems to be getting worse. Most of the time the photo loads for a split second, then disappears and i get a white space with that little icon on the upper left. Only this site seems to be affected. I am using the latest Firefox. Anyone else ever have this? Very frustrating!
no problem here
No problem here either
