Elizabeth,
I just love the shape of Angels Summerlove, the way that clax lobe comes way down. Is that bulge the stuffed second skirt? Or is she putting out singles right now?

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Beautiful blooms, Elizabeth.Angels Summerlove sure is a looker! I have 2 of my grandson's this week-end, but I will try to get some pics tomorrow. You're right...I love Painted Lady! Thanks for sharing such a beauty.

it's a single, I was hoping for a really long Bloom, you can see where the daggone beetles has chewed on the Bloom, I have some new Brugs in my little GH, I went out to check on them, I found a green cat, having a feast, I drowned it, I can just imagine the trouble you had with the Grasshoppers, it's so dissappointing when we find worms or Grasshoppers just having a feast on our beloved plants

I would love to see your Photo's of all that's Blooming, I just love your new place, I can just see your enclosed porch, just loaded with plants, you're going to have a great time this winter, I looked at a couple houses today, they have a decent size yard, Yippee next Summer, I'll have all the yard planted with Brugs, I am going to dig up NN, it lost it's 2 Buds so I'll have to wait till next year to see it Bloom

Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I didn't get any pics taken today.Maybe tomorrow.I laid down for a nap after the boys left this afternoon, and by the time DH woke me, it was dusk. They wear me out, but I sure do enjoy them...lol I ran out and watered pots, and thats about all I had time for. I had planned on fertilizing, but that will have to wait til morning.
But, guess what Elizabeth, I was getting buzzed by a hummingbird moth. I was so happy to see one in the yard!
I have one brug, that is just smothered in little flower buds, about 1 inch long. It was sent to me as a cutting last fall, as NOID white. I know it is and always will be a noid, but I'm wondering it might be what Charleen(and everyone) calls monster white. It is a big brug. I'm going to do my best to keep it going even if it hasn't bloomed before I have to dig it.

you poor Girl, GK's can do that, you should see my GS when I walk him, he gets so mad at me when I quit to catch my breath for a minute, that boy wants too walk so bad, he will be wearing braces for some time yet, I have dug some of my Brugs up already, the ones that just wasn't doing anything no Buds nothing, I hope your white one does Bloom for you before you have too dig it up, last year it was the 29th of November when we had our first Frost, I know don't mention that word, I am glad you got too see the Hawkmoth Humming Bird, that's one of the cutest Moth's there is, I spent a lot of time finding out what it was way back when, I bought the Bird book at the half price bookstore, it has it listed in there, I was so glad I found it, I thought it was a deformed Bumble Bee, I have more than just one Noid, the plastic labels with a magic marker fade's too soon, I am glad I have mini Blinds cut up the pencil doesn't fade

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

Elizabeth and Gordon your blooms are just breathtaking. I know that others have also posted pictures and I have drooled over all of them.
Mine have not bloomed yet. I think one is to small and don't know why nothing is happening with the other. Maybe I haven't watered them enough?? do they like to get daily watering?? Leaves look perky so I have only watered every few days, but it has been really hot till the past couple of days.
I shall not give on them though. I am definitely addicted and look forward to blooms even if I don't see any for real till next summer.

Sheri

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Sheri, I had only one brug last summer and it didn't bloom until november.I have been watering my brugs everyday, before it cooled down and feeding miracle grow 2 X's a week. I have slowed down a little on watering , but they are still getting fed twice a week.
Hey, Sheri anytime that you can send the postage, I can ship you out a box of cuttings, now.D-mail me and let me know when you're ready.

I bet that's just the cutest site, I love Chickens except Roosters with long Spurs, when I was young my Brother had just such a Rooster, it only attacked the females in our family, I love the Brugs, it's so pretty, I have Gordons best Noid that made it over the winter, that poor Brug the Cats eat almost all it's leaves, so I potted it up & put it in the shade, it's starting too look better

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

i thought they were poison. Cats still alive??? As long as I keep them watered they look pretty good.
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Poor little Lucas,,,you might hurt his feelings callin' him names like that...He might have to go on a hunger strike or somethin'....lol....If he is anything like our dogs, he always thinks he's starving, and our dogs have an automatic feeder, where they can eat anytime they want.
Girl, you sure have the blooms this year, don't ya?Your yard is beautiful! I took a couple pics tonight, but I really don't have that many brugs with open flowers right now, but soon, I should have a yard full.
I think Eliabeth was talking about catapillars(or however ya spell them crawly critters), not puddy cats.I'telling ya Elizabeth, the leaves on my NN look horrible from somekinda munching critters, but the buds are still coming along. There are two big buds and a few more smaller ones coming on
Here's Painted lady. She has a lot more buds coming on too. I just love her.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Good afternoon, everyone. Beautiful blooms!
i have been working in the sunroom, most of the day.Scrubbing and getting ready to start bringing some of the plants in.We got a new portable propane (that's what we heat with)heater for out there. There is a vent in there from the furnace, but it was built on between the garage and the house and with all those windows,we figured it would get pretty nippy out there. Now it should stay nice and toasty.
Dee

Hamilton, OH

Dee
you remember, my back porch, me & DH have a our own ideas about it, he says, I can't put replacement windows in there
that he has too rebuild the wall, well I am putting the windows in there, what we have now are storm windows, I don't like them so I am replacing them, it will keep the house warmer, well I'll win that argument, after 37 yrs he knows when he says I can't do something, I can do it, but I do love him so
your sunroom should be wonderful this winter, I can just see it now all those plants in there Blooming their heads off, it's so exciting, I will be digging a lot of my plants by the end of the month

Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Elizabeth, sometimes our DHs think we don't know nothin'.That's when we have to show them just how smart we are!I know you and all your plants will really enjoy that porch, once you get new windows in.It is a NICE porch! We still have just the storm windows in the sunroom, also.We are hoping to get regular windows in before the snow flies, but if we don't I am gonna use the window kits with the shrink plastic(it's gives a pretty clear view out), and use the room for plants anyway.
Dee

Hamilton, OH

Dee
see if there's a Window World in your area, you can install just 2 windows at a time, instead of financing the whole job, another company wanted us to finance $18,000
to do all the windows in the house all at once, then my DD told me Window World had an add for $189.00 per window plus the trim, & you could do 2 at a time so that's
what I have been doing, now I am down to 11 windows including the Back porch & they're all done, just in time for the cold weather, Plus they have a lifetime warranty
so the utitility bill should be cut by 1/3 this winter, I am going too take everything off the back porch, just too see if he DH rbuilds the wall, if he doesn't I will pay my neighbor too do it, he does Beautiful work
