Elizabeth, you have sooo many pretty blooms. Great pics!
Dee
Are you ladies seeing a lot of grasshoppers, this year? Or is it, that I just never paid that close of attention to them, before growing brugs?
Dee
Karen
I was hoping you would get a chance too see them, Thank you, I think a couple days of cooler weather is what made them get into gear, oh my Red eppi has a bud that should be open soon, I can't wait till you see it, I bet your brugs are loaded with Blooms
Elizabeth
Elizabeth your flowers are beatiful! your yard has to smell wonderful rains here did mine in for a while. They were doing so good too but they will get over it. Thanks for sharing
Gordon

I haven't had a problem with grasshoppers yet, not like last year, the most problem I have had was with those tiny worms, I am still finding them, I sprayed with neem
oil, it didn't phase them, also there is this flying bugs, it green with black dots on it, it loves too eat the Blooms, you have too hand pick them yuck
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, do a google search on spotted cucumber beetle, and see if these are the ones that you are having trouble with. I have them too! I read that neem oil will kill them. And there is another big ugly bug that I have seen on the brugs. I'll see if I can find a pic of it.
Dee
Girl, I think your brugs are loving this cool weather! That first pic looks like it should be matted and framed! beautiful blooms!
Dee
Oh here's a pic of the other bug that I have been seeing on the brugs.I have read that they are a good bug, but if they bite you, it is very painful..Anyway, I don't like them..lol
http://www.google.com/search?q=wheel+bug&hl=en&safe=off&gbv=2&sout=1&ndsp=20&biw=1036&bih=451&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=iw
Dee
Thank you, I really wanted you too see SR with all it's color, Girl that Bug looks nasty, I have never saw one of those, the first time in 3 years I saw a Spinx Moth, they are so neat looking, they come out right at dark, the bugs in your link are they common too your area? I don't like them either
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, isn't it amazing how such a small plant can put out such a big beautiful bloom? The blooms on Painted Lady are beginning to open. They are still at the yellow looking stage. It is planted right next to my front door. I'm trying to be patient, but it's sooooo hard..lol
I had never seen a wheel bug, until last year, but when I looked them up, it said that they are common here(and in Oh. and Ky.), but that they usually do a good job of hiding. But I have spotted 3 or 4 of them mean lookin' critters this year. I know when I'm weeding, I'm bad about just sticking my bare hand in and yanking, but after spotting these, I'll be wearing my gloves..lol It says the bite is very painful. Yuck!!!
Dee
Dee
it amazing that such a small plant has such a big Bloom, Yuck is right wear the gloves, I have never saw one of those bugs, I just hope for your sake there's not that many of them, I am so excited for you painted lady is a good one, I have Mountain Magic that hasn't done anything this year & NN just dropped it's last 2 Buds, so I will be digging it up soon, the one's that haven't done anything I am digging them up, Hey tommorrow Angels Summerlove & Superspot shold be open, Yes I'll have my Camera
ready, year before last at this time all my Brugs were in Bloom, this year has been so different
Elizabeth
Can't wait to see those two blooming! My NN has two buds that seem to be doing ok, but what leaves it has left, sure are nasty looking. I stripped most of them off.As soon as it blooms, I am digging him up and stripping the rest of the leaves off.I just hope it does bloom for me.
Dee
Dee
my NN is over 10 ft tall, it's a shame that the Buds didn't hold, I just hope yours hold, it's a beautiful double when it Blooms, there's always next year, I hope it's a better year for Brugs, I don't blame you I have started digging some of mine up, hopefully next summer I'll have a bigger Yard & GH, I really like your place it's perfect, today I went too look at a house, the yard was 3 acre's all fenced in with a built in 4 season's room, we just looked around the yard, we have to make an appontment too see the inside
Elizabeth
Well... good luck with the new house.. sounds like it can have everything you need.. to get way out of control..
Yes Kelly Ann is a flowering wonder here also.. and fast...it's the smallest least developed one.. and is on it's third flush... no sooner will it finish flowering... then there's buds and it will be flowering again... and it is
Gordon
I have been out of control, according too my family for awhile, I had too have Kelly Anne, my DD is kelley & my middle name is Ann, I took some night shots just for you & Dee, my crazy cat escaped so I had too go outside to get her while I was out I just thought I would get some night shots, so here's one Velvet Rose at night
Elizabeth
Two other things I like about Kelly Ann — she roots easily and sets pods like crazy. One of these day, I need to use some good pollen on her instead of letting the moths do it for me. If only she were yellow...sigh.
Elizabeth, in that first picture of Peaches and Cream, what is that beautiful bush behind it, with all the star-like flowers?
thanks,
Linny
Veronica
I am glad you you like Kelly Anne, there are so many Pinks, it would be nice too have a yellow one with that size Bloom
Elizabeth
Linny
That is Sweet Autumn Clematis, it is so Fragrant, esp. after dark, I planted it last Spring, it just grew bigger no Blooms
but this year it has made up for it
Elizabeth
here's Kelly Anne.. on the left shse's 1/10 the size of the one on the right which is a few years old..and continues on the other side of the fence.. and up through the vines and sticks out up top to grow.. .. and is holding her own...
reorgnising.. I'm turning the botanical research station into a garden for the Roof top meet up group tomorrow.. afternoon / evening... I'm turnning the dinning table/potting bench into a buffet table.. and seating... putting a cushon on everything.. the hose reels.. that's two more seats.. upside down gigantic pots with cushons.. a bunch of foan from the cool room... [ and that's the last of it to be reused ] stacked to raise up a base for a long leather cushon.. it goes on and on.. got the pump working on the pond... I painted it's inside blue the color of a swimming pool .. and now the molded output plug on the transformer to the underwater lighting is broken... serving pesto from the garden.. I've already put a dozen packages in the freezer.. for myself.. and only another 30 to go... to use up the basil...I'd like to be able to get one a week for the year..
well.. it will be special....... lovely.. anyway... the twin towers anniversery is the 11 th tomorrow.. and the dual beam gigantic lights will be lit ... it's light shining where the towers once stood... as if they were still there... my flag will be flying all night ... lit by a quartz light ..
..
Gordon
you live in a paradise, your Kelly Anne is Beautiful, I noticed today mine was a darker Pink then when it first Bloom, I bet your pesto will be great with all those home grown basil, it sounds like it will be Special, I am glad you'll be flying your Flag all night, I think none of us will ever forget tommorrow, Thank you for posting your KA

Elizabeth
.elizabeth, your kelly ann is so pretty ...yours too gordon! Gordon, you must take some pics of your roof top all fancied up for your meeting, so we can see.Altho it couldn't possibly look any nicer that it always does.
Elizabeth, I hope you get the new house .Sounds perfect for you!
Dee
All of them are beautiful! My CG and my PNC are blooming along with Kaitlyn and Isabella again. BM is about too, so is cherub. I can't wait to see a double just once. My Flame will not bloom this year I think. I got to stand in a Brug Tree grove the other day in a different part of the state up north. That woman sure has some Big Brug Trees. Amazing how she brings those in ..do you bring in your Brug Trees in the winter too? Her Greenhouse is like mine, In the Basement. She has them blooming all the time inside. I think she has more lights.
Dee, Thank you, I really like color, it's a keeper
Elizabeth
Debra, a grove of Brug trees that would be something too see, Yes I take my big trees in, NN will have to be cut way back
it's to tall to fit in the basement, I would love to be able to just one Blooming all year, with the new window's I might be able to do that, use an uplight in the house, I would love to see your Blooming Brugs, I bet they're pretty
Elizabeth
