Grandma had to get in there, too, and hold him for a while. Jonathan is 5.5 lbs and 19" long so he is not as little as many preemies. He is eating well, reacting well and progressing better than anyone expected. We hope he will be home soon.

K- I am back, lol THANK YOU! Sistah Linda Kay.. for letting me know about Babe's arrival ...Made my Day for sure.
ROFLOL, i was way off on my guess.
Well just wanted you all know I am back....Have a fantastic evening.
You're pointing one finger at Cookie.. but the rest of your fingers are pointing back at you, Sue :P Nice try.. but you could say no.
Granny Janice, you certainly are envied by us here for having held Jonathan!!! He's so adorable and Stacey's lucky that Chris doesn't shy away in handling Jonathan. Most new fathers do, fearing they might hurt their babies.
Thanks for posting these pics.
Sistah Judy!!!! Wouldn't it be wonderful if you and Steve were to hold a grandbaby of your own?? Kidding!!
Miss you gal. Hope all is well at your fort too.
Please don't forget to say a pray for all in need and especially prayers for Cookie's mum that when she goes to the doctor tomorrow, she'll get some help.
Good night sistahs.
Night everyone! Saying prayers for all in need! Sending out ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) too!
Sleep tight!
Well, obviously anyone that wants to come see him is MORE than welcome;) I will apologize since I am going to be a little self centered for a little while and probably won't be comment much on others posts....
Everyone says he does look more like me:) He does have Chris's hands and feet (LONG fingers and his 2nd toe is longer than his 1st and his little toes curl under-I actually freaked out the first time I saw his feet since his small toe was curled under and I thought he only had 4-LOL) He should be in the NICU rfor 2-3 weeks is everyone's best guess right now, but it all depends on him. He pulled out his feeding tube yesterday and they were having problems with the IV, so they switched sides for both and yes Chris stayed to watch and I had to leave the room. It was hard enough to watch them suck out his boogies and him get so upset, I couldn't watch the rest. Apparently as long as the IV and feeding tube are in, they will switch them every 3 days so the sticky stuff from the tape doesn't bother his skin.
Thank you all for the nice comments-I have to admit I HATE the pics with me in them. I had scratched my face so much from my reaction to the anesthetic and my nose is red and dry from blowing it and my eyes are red from crying, I am just a big mess;) I have a few more pics, just need to find my cord to download them into the puter:)
Tante-please don't think I am being pushy, cause I'm not, I was just wondering if you were still making some burp cloths? I am only asking so we know what else we need to buy to get everything ready. 2-3 weeks sounds like forever to me right now, but I know he will be coming home B4 we know it and I want to have everything we need and since we have only 1 burp cloth, we obviously need a few more.....if you aren't or if they won't be done by then, that's fine, I just need to know so I can buy some...
It is VERY hard to leave him and I cry buckets and think I am the worst mom ever when I do. Chris keeps telling me to stop saying that, it isn't true. He said I was brave for everything I went through for 4 days and my Dr yesterday said I have a crazy high tolerance for pain. She also said that she swore he was so low that he had had a 6cm ring on his head from my stupid cervix. She said that I probably won't be able to have children normally and will have to have a Csection for any more because of the malfunctioning cervix-I guess it is pretty rare. She was also surprised that I haven't taken anything other than ibuprofen for the surgery. She gave me a prescription for Percocet, but I haven't filled it. So far the 800mg ibuprofen are working just fine. I little pain and achy muscles never killed anyone yet, so I am sure it won't do me in either:)
Morning everyone!
Stacey, your not a bad Mom, just a careing and protective one like all should be!
You must be very high tolerent for pain. My DIL had her
c-section and stayed stoned on pain pills for two weeks, and was telling everyone to bring her this and bring her that! I finally told her I would not go get anymore pills, and made her get out of bed, She had not taken a shower, or would get up to eat! She did not like it at first, but then told me she felt better once she did get up!
Are you home now? Bet you and Chris will be getting the baby room ready? Did you ever get the crib put together the right way?
Post when you can.
LK
We are at home-will be going back to the hospital shortly. I am not a wimp and HATE being an invalid so I have been up since the day after. I HAD to take a shower ASAP on Sat since I hadn't had one since Tuesday-I felt so grody-YUCK;) Chris's brother will be coming up tomorrow and they will get the room painted. Then once it is dry we can get everything into the room and start getting it set up. He did finally get the crib together correctly with the help from his bros the day after the baby shower-I told them they couldn't go golfing until they did-LOL;)
LK-in my mind I know I am not a bad mom yet, but it is my heart that doesn't get that.....
Your not a bad Mom, you just do what you know is good for him. Those Mom instincts will kick in as soon as you get him home. Just remember he needs to get on a schedule as soon as you can, and that will take maybe a few months, but you will figure it out.
(((((((((Stacey)))))))))))) you're such a brave little mother!!!
Must be the ibuprofen you're taking... I had committed myself to making Jonathan some bibs.... but if it's burp cloth you need... I'll send you some.
Don't worry about posting elsewhere.. LK and I will just make sure your current news are shared... right LK?
(Thank goodness for post and copy!)
Think Stacey... you'll be able to eat normal now!! Jonathan won't be controlling your appetite!
Kel has a cousin who has all 3 kids via C-section. And that includes a set of twins. The oldest and the twins are 6 years apart.
No hurry.. but you and Chris sure makes a beautiful baby!
Morning everyone!!!
So, what's on your agenda today LK?
Mine will be the usual ho hum of feeding the kids...tend to the garden..and re-downloading a bunch of software...
Jaye, we can make sure all are informed.
I was just looking at the lily co-op site, looks like just about everyone is paid, and we will be getting our lillies soon? Can't wait to get my anne marie lillies for a small memorial garden. I bought extra's to share with the family, so they can have some too! I have never grown them, so I sure hope they grow in this heat!
What's on my agenda? well..........
I have an interview this afternoon!! The message came in on Wed, but I didn't retrieve it until Saturday, so I left a message. She called me this morning, and told me that I could have a 2pm, or 3:15 interview time. They pay slightly less than my last job, but it's really handy to where I live (at least NOW.......), and they have terrific benefits. Here's hoping it works out! I'm just a bit nervous......
Cheering you on to get the job. Close to work and great benefits is such a big plus. You go girl!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much, Pegi!
5 more hours to go! They're doing a "behavioural interview" with 3 people.
I hope I behave well LOL
LOL!!! Susan you better behave!
There are 2 ways to behave - Well, and Badly..... which way do you suggest I behave? hmmmmmmmm????
Somewhere in between! Not too good, not too bad!!! ^_^
LOL ok, I'm TRY!!
LOL Great advice, LK!!
You are asking Susan to do the impossible!!! She's never in-between.. she's always GOOD ^_^
Susan, good luck and God be with you!!
ROFLMAO Jaye - have I Ever gotten YOU fooled LOL me, good??????
ok ok..... so I guess I am, kinda....... ah well, let's hope the interviewers feel the same way!!!!!!
God is Always With Me, Jaye, thank you for the reminder. I have guardian angels with me all the time, looking out for my best interests. I may not always know them, but I trust all of the Heavenly help sent to me.
God's plans for us are already in motion... and just for that, we ought to thank Him.
You'll be a blessing to ANY one that hires you.
ok ok....... now you have me blushing....... Jaye!!
Thanks Jaye and LK. Sorry I got that mixed up Tante, but we have like 1 burp cloth, so if you don't mind we really could use some more. Bibs are great too-whatever you want to make I will be grateful-I was just trying to make a list of what we need to get in the next couple weeks to be ready for him is all:) Tante-we think the same thing but it will be a couple yrs B4 we try this again-Jonathan deserves to be the baby of the family for a while:)

ok, my gallbladder comes out next tuesday the 21
We'll be here praying for you Sis Kathy. I'm glad that Michael and your DD will be around to look after you.
Stacey.. I know you dislike seafood, but I found this on Yahoo.
Thought you'd reconsider...
Eating Fish Makes You Smart.
The truth is: For kids up to age three or four, this is indeed the case. Fish, especially oily ones, such as salmon, are packed with omega-3 fatty acids, including DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). “DHA is particularly beneficial in the first two years of life for brain development, cognition, and visual acuity,” says Beverly Hills pediatrician Scott W. Cohen, the author of Eat, Sleep, Poop: A Common Sense Guide to Your Baby’s First Year ($16, amazon.com). And a 2008 study in Clinical Pediatrics showed an increase in vocabulary and comprehension for four-year-olds who were given daily DHA supplements. Omega-3 options for the fish-phobic? Try avocados, walnuts, and canola oil.
Oh-sorry to hear that, but I had that surgery about 8 yrs ago and it wasn't anything really. I felt like crap that day, but after that I just felt like I had done too many sit ups the day B4. Was pretty much back to my old self in about a week.....hope that makes you feel a little better about it. You WILL need to take it easy a little though;)
Tante-if he likes fish he can eat it-Chris LOVES it-but....I won't be joining them;)
Kathy - sorry to hear about your surgery, but glad you're getting your gallbladder out! Nasty wee thing!!
OH almost forgot to tell you - the interview went Faaaaaaahbulous Daaaahlink!
I impressed the heck outta them! They said they still have interviews this week, and were really pleased that I was able to come at such short notice. They were almost talking wages during the interview, for pete's sake LOL They said that I had a lot of administrative experience, and I told them I would be brushing up on my accounting, which they seemed to like.
Anyway, the interviewers like my questions, too. We had a laugh about micro-management, which they Don't do. At one point I pretended that "that's IT - I'm outta here!" and we had a laugh about it, cuz I Don't Do MicroManagement - I hate someone looking over my shoulder when I know my job! LOL
Susan, glad to hear it went well, let us know when you get the job!
Sis, sorry you have to have surgery, but you will be feeling better after the surgery!
Beautiful pictures Tink!
There is a new virus going around. Don't open any emails, with the subject line, "here you have"! No matter who it is from! Just delete it!

Susan, glad to hear it went well, let us know when you get the job!
hahahaha you're sure optimistic for me, aren't you?
That's our LK-always thinking so positively:) Gotta love it:)
I called the NICU when I got up this am and found out they have upped his feeding to 35 ML and that he is taking about 1/2 from a bottle consistently now. They took him off the IV, but he now has jaundice so he will be under the lights and we won't get to hold him very much for the next few days.
Jaundice in normal for alot of babies. A few days under those lights, and he will be fine.
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready. I have the soaker hose going on the raised bed for the angel trumpets, and all the potted plants have been watered. Boy those skeeters are so bad today! I hate to hose myself with spray before I go out! Now it is time for another shower!
Blessings to all of you, and prayers for those that need it (including those who are suffering from Mosquitos!!)
Yes Stacey Jaundice is very common in babies, he'll be fine.
Kathy my mom says you'll feel a lot better once you get it out.
I couldn't figure out why there was no postings.. I lost the stupid thread yet again!! Waving hi to everyone :)
Stacey, such a pretty boy you have! Congrats to you and Chris..he'll be home before you know it :)
Good luck, Susan, on the job!! I know they're going to hire you.. :)
I had an interview yesterday and I'm just waiting for the formal offer now..they do a background check and it cracked me up that they actually fingerprinted us! I told them if the FBI didn't find anything, they won't either! (True story..the FBI went to my hometown to interview folks years ago cause I was in the military and they were giving me a Top Secret Nato clearance).
But I will wind up having to move AGAIN as the job is in Des Moines, about 3 hrs from here. My DS is already giving me advice on what areas are ok to live in and what ones aren't :) He said he has to give final approval to any place I find LOL
Have a good day everybody.. hugs and prayers going out for all of us!
