Yes, mee too.
Thought for the Day - #8
WLS, I meant to comment on the heavenly rain you have got. CONGRATS!
Sharon - congrats on rain, guess you are missed by both the summer squalls/monsoonals that go through AZ, UT & NM? We get the fringe of SOME of the AZ summer rains.
So cool yesterday, it was 63 when I went out at 12:30 in the afternoon! I shivered and went back inside. Later, the sun came out and I went outside to get some much needed work done in the yard. Need to fertilize everything now that the plants can come out of their survival only mode.
Hubby and I took a short vacation to clear our heads. We were gone too long, ate too much, spent too much, slept not enough and in general had a blast!!!
Life is way too short. If you don't grab it now, you'll miss the good stuff. Never pass up a chance at a new friend, a new taste, a new experience, a new sight. How will you know the difference between what you like and what you don't like if you don't try it all?
LOL kwanjin!
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried!
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried!
Too funny! I'll have to remember that one! I could have applied it to the pound cake that disintegrated as I tried to get it out of the pan. I should have just eaten the evidence!
Angie
LOL! I would have helped you!
Yes, all of our rain goes to Arizona. I told them to stop inhaling and they told me to go garden in the heat. Our rain actually came up from Gulf of Mexico but had nothing to do with the hurricane.
This is a sport of a Cleopatra & Wyoming Canna. The flower is the same as Cleopatra but the leaf normally totally green now has this ruby stripe. I love it.
Beautiful Sharon. What a treat for you. I love your line: I told them to stop inhaling and they told me to go garden in the heat.!!!!
Very funny weegy. I will need to remember that one also. Besides adding calories, it could mean then compost heap would flourish with plant 'failures'. Oh yea, that's right, now they go back to Lowes, HD, Armstrong....
"There are four main parts of any project: Planning; having the proper tools; breaking the project down into manageable increments . . . and knowing when to quit." Author, Faywray
If ignorance is bliss, why aren't there more people delirious with joy?
Beautiful Rainbow, kwanjin! I'm envious, still trying for a good one. Was bummer couldn't use right hand yesterday. It's not as swollen and I can hunt & peck now. Still hurts.
Great "thoughts", still giggling over a couple of them. : - )
Still cooler than normal weather, here.
"Don't be content with average because average is just as close to the bottom as it is the top."

I think that weegy reminded me of a Heinlein Quote.
Paraphrasing here.

You know you're getting old when happy hour is a nap!
If you try and don’t succeed, cheat. Repeat until caught. Then lie.
Not really my way of life but I thought it was funny. Shows you how sick my sense of humor is.
Hope everyone is having the great weather I am having. I think I have two hummingbirds staying over. A couple stayed over last year.
If at first you don't succeed, read the directions like she told you to in the first place.
That is my DH. Instructions, what are instructions?
"The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears." ~ Native Proverb
If at first you don't succeed, well, so much for skydiving.
The light at the end of the tunnel is not a freight train coming towards me, I pray!

Love your funnies!
Yours too!
I really need to live by this one...
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Oh, Evelyn, what a lovely thought and a great photo too! : - )
Loved the Native quote about the Rainbow. Tis true! Thank You, darling! No shame in tears, The Creator gave us the ability to cry so we wouldn't implode. Tears are healthy! : - )
Weegy, dillansnana and Sharon, you all are cracking me up! : - D
Sorry I haven't been posting here, I've been working hard. Hand is getting better, and I can use it some. Yea!
Weegy, around here, we call nap time "Beauty Time". I take a siesta every day, and my half feral cat, Beauty cuddles with me. The only time of day she will.
Sharon, on your first post on 9-11, I thought you were referring to politicians, not yourself. That's what they do best. Glad to hear you got some hummers over wintering, Sharon. Makes life worth living to see the little ones. : - )
Okay, I really mean it brings some magic to my day. : - )
DH doesn't believe in reading instructions first. He bought a new riding lawn mower, and refused to let me read the owners manual. I fingered it out, but the guys that were putting up a fence for us that day, laughed their heads off. Then it ran out of gas. Now I insist on reading the instructions first! Like you said, Sharon. Thank goodness for GPS, I no longer have to navigate, and that removes a lot of stress when traveling with DH. LOL! : - )
I had a great quote from one of my kids, but I went and forgot it. So you are stuck with this one.
"Play like you're in first, but train like you're in second."

WIB,

I saw a segment on Huell Howser with a couple from Woodland Hills who had 40 hummers visit their yard each day. I immediately went out and bought 4 more feeders to coax them here! I have a few more but not near as many as I'd like.
Jules hope you're feeling better and your hand heals quickly.
Some really good thoughts on this thread everyday!
Thank you for your kind words Lily_love. Sadly, I've learned through experience.
You will be glad to know that I have more Laugh wrinkles than frown wrinkles.
I am proud of my wrinkles and my silver hairs. I know each one of my kids that gave me each one of those silver hairs. Can name the hair, the kid, the incident.
I'm proud of my wrinkles. They mean that I have lived, I have loved, and I have experienced grief.
I've never understood why some people think only young people can be beautiful.
Some of the most beautiful people I know, are our elders, who've had their lives engraved on their faces. They are shocked when I walk up to them and tell them I think they are beautiful.
I think true beauty comes from within, and like a garden, must be cultivated to thrive and produce more beauty. I'm a bit fey, that way. : - )
If my words have touched you in a good way, then I feel Blessed that you were listening.
I love the photo you sent of the dock and walk way garden. Lovely! : - )
Like weegy's last post said, I do the best I can, and try to leave yesterday behind, and do better in the present. If I screw up I try to fix it. If I am wrong, I apologize and try to make it right. I don't lie, I don't steal, and I don't have much patience for fools. I am only human, but I try to make the world (or my little piece of it), a better place for everyone. : - )
I'm really working hard on practicing Patience and Tolerance this year. In the hope that it will lead to forgiveness. As I said, I'm not perfect and don't claim to be. Only the Creator is perfect, although I still wonder why he made Avocado seeds so Big! LOL!
Dmail if you want to, any time Lily_love. : - )

I agree weegy. I always appreciate your input, not to mention your thoughts. Your sense of humor is grand, and I do so enjoy the fun, friendly banter.
I think I have been given like 4 more hummer feeders. I have 3 in the gh, and the rest are scattered about the yards. They just love the ones in the gh best. They use the outside ones but only at certain times of the day.
Check out QG's Hello Thread, to see why I haven't been posting here the last week or so. : - )

Then seek your job with thankfulness and work till further orders,
If it's only netting strawberries or killing slugs on borders;
And when your back stops aching and your hands begin to harden,
You will find yourself a partner in the Glory of the Garden.
~Rudyard Kipling, 1865 - 1936, The Glory of the Garden
Good one evelyn! : - )
Minds me of snail, tomato worms and grasshopper hunts in the garden. Nothing as satisfying as getting the job done well. : - )

We all know that money can't buy everything. That's why we have credit cards, right? (blonde thinking!)

Reminds me of the days when my checkbook balance was close to zero and beyond....write checks until you run out? Right? (from another blonde...) LOL!
Why are redheads a novelty? Even to Blonds? Every one at my Dr.'s Office had to come look at his red hair. No wonder he dyes it black so often!
Good thoughts, especially that first one, weegy.
Liked yours too evelyn. : - )

Excellent, kwanjin!
Great quote, kwanjin. Tolkien was a very perceptive fellow. Love the books. My 6th grader is reading them now.

He certainly was an influence in my life. As much now as he was then.
You guys are doing great. Going back to the money thing - here is an old one:
I can't be out of money, I still have checks left!
And here is one I just read today:
My friend, I don't know what you're going through, but look
and see if God is trying to direct you, inspect you, correct
you, protect you, or perfect you.
