Our poor little dwarf dahlias dried up in the drought. I suspect the pansies are gone as well. This rain might revive those, but I doubt it.
Garden Photos #30
Thanks ge. wha I find peony hoops work like a charm on rudbeckias with floppage. Like this (but WAY cheaper at the hardward store) http://www.leevalley.com/en/garden/page.aspx?p=58904&cat=2,43319,33282
O that is so sad about your dahlias irisMA :(
i could do that or stick a post in and wrap with some green garden wire from HD. i had about 20 plants so it is a pain to do them all. i do it for coneflowers, deph's, some HH's and a few others. need to draw a line somewhere.
I like the hoops cuz I just leave them in all year and tuck the plants in when they come up. They support the seed pods in the w*i*n*t*e*r too and my fav thing about them is their seed pods.
WAIT A minute. Peony Hoops at mail order catalogue.I buy them for large floppy cranesbill.
Miles Kimbal.Gimmi a minute I'll send link.

I also have my n10 foot cosmose in a peony support,Baptisia too.
Now that's more like the right price!
your welcome Celeste... it is a nice one
LeeValley's wire might bbe of a heavier gague but for the price of these I'll deal with a bent leg. I grasp the attached leggs low in order to push them deep into the grouns.
I used to buy supports from Walt Neiche's but I dont think they sell products anymore, just has a garden newsletter. The supports were expensive.Twenty dollars for a five foot lily ring.
Nice color Robindog
Beautiful photo of the Stella De Oro
Love the yellow eye, provides contrast to the other colors.
Hi Burnw007 ^_^ Luvly burgandy.
I'll second that.
Nice picture burn! I have that one too...it spreads!
My phlox is a mildewed mess this summer! I like the burgundy gaillardia.
Shall I see if I can dig one up for you and bring it to the RU Robinn?
Thanks Robindog. Sorry to hear about the mildew. Our Summer was really dry and that helped a lot. Last year lots of my plants had been affected by it.
Pixie, I can't bring any live plants home from Bill's, because I'm heading to Kport for awhile, but thanks for the thought!
Awe, too bad!
87"....wow!!!! That plant is 27" taller than I am!!
Taller than I am too
87 inches is - - - - - 7.25 feet
My gosh that's insane! Guiness book of world records???
Allison gave me the seeds,we have a thread on the Annual forum. We started in May.
Its a hoot.
All lovely pics you guys. Pretty Stella and gaillardia pics. That cosmos is just amazing JoAnn.
Geranium Rozanne is a tough plant. They get really large. I had to move one of mine because it had outgrown it's place and with the heat and drought did not know if it would survive, but It is re-growing in it's new location after I ripped it to shreds really. Some plants want to survive no matter what torture the gardener inflicts on them, love that.
ge 1836 theTrailing Queen with the caladiums and impatience is a gorjus colour combo!
very nice joann
Thanks Bill. I am so sorry I cant make your RU.
I just have a lot of problems traveling. I hope it's a rousing success.
