Just saw on our newscast a CT resident ate mushrooms his BIL cooked...they looked like amanitas....the hospital saved his life with a new drug...guess the BIL didn't eat any!

Your bald

Lucky kid on that moped!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Guess playing football helped he used to taking hard hits
Noticed in the grocery store the other day that all the canned and jarred mushrooms are imported from China...we can't grow our own mushrooms, now??? For pete's sake!

and I'm right next door why is my store getting them from China????? Just like Hershey's chocolate imported from Mexico when the plant is only 2 hrs away...explain how that saves $.

Chineese work for way less money. Cheaper product.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

import tax and shipping charges, idk cuts it kinda close.

Remember when I was telling eveyone how the logs get put into containers and shipped to China. They make the veneer and make cheapy furniture and send it back!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know it's crazy!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

One of the few things we don't get from China is fine china!!

Its crazy, your right. In the same token we as US American Citizens get paid more, our product is more expensive.

How would you like to work in a slave shop in China and live like they do?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Believe it or not, Chinese labor is starting to get too expensive. Companies are looking to countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.

Fine china has bone in it

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No bones in China??

They might be desparate and eat them.

England make fine bone china. Here is a cup/saucer that should go for 235.00. Nippon/Noritake from Japan have bone also.

Not into that fancy crap.

Neither am I - I use corell :-) But If I can buy them right I sure will resell them :-)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Ummm, bones from what?
...never mind I don't want to know. (lol!) - Very lovely cup!

East Bridgewater, MA

Corning's "Corelle" line hase served me well, same dishes for a quarter century.

Fredericton N B, Canada(Zone 4a)

Portmeirion dishes are being made in China now.Royal Doulton figurines are now made in China. The quality of the dishes is not the same.Lady at The China Shoppe in St.Andrews NB said she refused the shipment .from China.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - another big quake. This time in N. Zealand. Crazy.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Got my order from Avon and the eyeliner I ordered was "made in china" I'm returning it.... I REFUSE to use any cosmetics that are made in china

East Bridgewater, MA

Smart move, it could contain just about anything.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I even walk away from dog toys from china now.. hard to find made in usa ones though

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Also use corelle here. Hard to find is right. I always ask store people if they have made in USA products. If everyone did that and refused other products and said that is why they were not buying maybe they would increase demand for made in the USA. The companies are not solely responsible though, let's face it if people didn't demand walmart prices for everything they would not be shipping so many jobs over seas. This started happening many years ago and for a while people thought is was just wonderful that they could get things so cheap.

Thomaston, CT

How true....now we're stuck with cheap, shoddy goods....and limited manufacturing jobs...I would pay extra for American made, but some things are impossible to find.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - can't blame the businesses - especially in the online era. They can take a stand and only stock American (if they can find it), but they would not be able to compete and would be out of business. The global economy is a genie that is not returning to the bottle.

Thomaston, CT

Very true.....
